INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PART# WSVOLTMETER

  1. Remove the right fairing pocket by opening the pocket and removing the four fasteners – 2001 models only. All four of the fasteners are the same. Push the center of the fastener with a small screwdriver until it “pops”. After all four are loose, gently pull the pocket up.
    – 2002 & newer. The two fasteners closest to the handlebars are Philips head screws. The remaining two are pop fasteners. Push the center of the fastener with a small screwdriver until it “pops”. After all four  are disengaged, gently and slowly pull the pocket up.

  2. Remove the trim piece that runs along the right side of the fairing, just to the right of the fairing pocket by lifting very gently at the bottom of the part. There are tabs on both sides of the trim piece. Gently  moving the part back and forth while lifting should allow the tabs to disengage from the fairing.

  3. After the trim has been removed, a silver hex head bolt will be exposed. Remove this bolt.

  4. Just below the bolt you removed, you should be able to notice a rectangular slot. Place a small flat tipped screwdriver in this slot, aiming the tip to the right and the handle to the left which allows the  screwdriver blade to travel behind a slot. Move the handle of the screwdriver to the right and swing the black panel out to the left.

  5. Remove the cable from the lock assembly. Pop the green end of the cable cover off the lock. Now rotate the cable so that it aligns with the slot on the cable retainer. Slide the end of the cable out of the retainer.

  6. Remove the lock from the panel. Using your pliers, pull the retaining clip from the base of the lock. It will slide to the side. Push the lock through the hole.

  7. Install your lock on the new panel using the reverse of the step above.

  8. Locate the power connector for the meter. This is a 3 pin connector where only 3 of the slots are used. 2001-2002. The connector is a 3 pin that will be located either under the right speaker or at the front of the fairing pocket around the vent towards the front of the bike and should be white in color. 2003 &  newer. The connector will be located inside the rubber boot found at the lower left corner of the hole left by removing the panel the meter mounts into. This plug should be red in color.
NOTE: If you have heated grips, this connector may be used based on which kit you have. The harness is designed to accommodate this. Unplug the grips from the bike and plug the connectors between the two connectors you unplugged. On the 2003 & newer, use a wire tie to wind up the excess cable.

  9. Turn the key on and check that your meter is functioning. Turn key off and reassemble motorcycle.
NOTE: To re-install the pop fasteners, you will want to hold the body and push the internal portion up so that it extends beyond the top of the body. Insert the fastener into the hole and push down the internal  portion so that it is flush with the top of the pocket.
NOTE: To re-install the trim piece, start at the top and secure it first and then go from side to side.
