CATIGA CP-90A Printing Calculator

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

  1. Do not use or leave the calculator in direct sunlight. Areas subiect to guick temperature changes. high humidity and dirt should be avoided.
  2. In case of any electrical fault (i.e. smoke), immediately disconnect the AC adapter plug from its electrical outlet.
  3. Use a dry doth to clean the unit. Do not use water or cleaning agents.
  4. Do not place anything on top of the unit, especially the printing area.
  5. Avoid using the unit in areas where there are iron filings, as this may affect the circuits within the unit.
  6. Ensure the power outlet for the AC Adapter is easily accessible and within reach.

AC OPERATION

  • Use only the CATIGA AC Adapter.
  • Tum the power switch to OFF before connecting or disconnecting the AC Adapter.
  • Press the key to restart the calculator.

REPLACING THE INK ROLLER (IR-40T/INK-40)

This printing calculator uses an IR-40T industry standard ink roller. It can be easily found in stores or online.

  1. Remove the transparent cover carefully by pressing down on the arrow symbol and pushing outward. Lift out the metal arm.
  2. Use your finger to lift up and remove the old ink roller where it says “PUii Up”.
  3. Install a new ink cartridge by pressing down until you hear a click.
  4. Reinsert plastic cover.

INSERTING PRINTING PAPER

  1. Remove the transparent cover carefully by pressing down on the arrow symbol and pushing outward. Lift out the metal arm.
  2. Plug-in AC adapter or insert batteries.
  3. Make sure the paper roll is in bottom feed orientation.
  4. Use scissors and cut a straight edge at the end of the paper roll.
  5. Insert the end of the paper roll into the bottom slit in the back of the machine. Keep feeding the paper until it reaches deep in the black area.
  6. Press the “FEED” button while applying inward pressure to the end of the paper.
  7. Hang the paper roll on the metal arm and reinsert the plastic cover.

LOADING AND REPLACING BATTERIES

  • LOADING
1. Remove the battery cover by pushing down and sliding in the direction of the arrow (Figure 1).
2. Load 4 new AA batteries as illustrated (Figure 2).
3. Reattach the battery cover.
  • REPLACING
    • Low battery power may cause printing problems or random paper advances. It can also disable the % key.
    • If the display is dim or the printing speed decreases, then the batteries may need to be replaced. Replace batteries to resume normal operations.
    • Remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the unit for a long period of time.

DECIMAL POINT SELECTOR SWITCH

  • Used for designating the decimal point position (0 1 2 3 4) for calculated results.
  • + (Add-Mode): Addition and subtraction functions are performed with an automatic 2-digit decimal. It is convenient for currency calculations
  • F (Floating Declrnal PIDlnt) : All effective numbers up to 12 digits are printed or displayed.

ROUNDING SWITCH

  • Used for round-up [ t.1 round-of’!’ [5/4), or round-down [ l) to the preselected decimal digits in the result.

POWER/ PRINT/ ITEM COUNT

  • Power Off: Turns the power off.
  • Power On/Print Off: Turns the power on. Entries and results will appear on the display, but will not be printed out.
  • Power On/Print On: Entries and results will appear on the display and will be printed out. time is on the left side of the paper ot up to 99 times when ke bor preys are pressed out
  • Item: Set switch to “ITEM” to count the number of times the +,.C. M# and M- M+ and M- keys have been pressed. The item count will be printed on the left-hand side of the paper roll (up to 999 times) when the ¢/# M or Mo keys are pressed.

OVERFLOW

In the cases below, “E” will be displayed, a dotted line will be printed, the keyboard will be electronically locked, and further operation will be impossible. Press %/ to clear the overflow. Overflow occurs when:

  1. The result or memory content exceeds 12 digits to the left of the decimal point.
  2. There’s a division by “0”.
  3. The sequential operation speed surpasses the calculation processing speed (Buffer Register Overflow).

• Electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge might cause the display to malfunction, or the contents of the memory to be lost or altered. If this happens, use the tip of a ballpoint pen (or a similar sharp object) to press the [RESET] button on the back of the calculator. After resetting, ensure you set the calendar, clock, and tax rate again.

DATE AND TIME FUNCTION

Date Button

  • Used to switch between calendar and clock mode.
  • Used to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour formats in clock mode.
  • Used to set the date and time in calendar and clock mode.
  • Used to switch between AM and PM during clock mode time setting.

DATE AND TIME SETTING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Press ( ) and then . Hold for 3 seconds. (The first digit of the month will flash).
  2. Enter the month, e.g., “01”, using the number keys. (The first digit of the date will flash).
  3. Enter the date, e.g., “01”, using the number keys. (The first digit of the year will flash).
  4. Enter the year, e.g., “2006”, using the number keys.
  5. Press to confirm the date.
  6. Press . For the 12-hour or 24-hour clock, hold for 3 seconds. Enter the time using the number keys and press the AM/PM button to switch between them.
