Product Information

The product is a Wi-Fi enabled thermostat. It comes with a Daisy Wi-Fi Thermostat, Thermostat Base, Mounting Hardware, Quick Guide, and Wiring Labels.  The thermostat works with common 24 volt systems and is not compatible with millivolt systems or 120/240 volt systems such as baseboard electric heat.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before starting the installation, check the wire terminal compatibility with the User Guide.
  2. Switch off the power to your HVAC system at the breaker box or the system switch.
    • WARNING: This step is important to protect your system.
  3. If your old thermostat contains mercury, do not place it in the trash. Contact the Thermostat Recycling Corporation for proper disposal information
  4. Leave the wires connected and remove the old thermostat from the wall. Take photos of the wire connections for reference.
  5. Label the wires using the included tags. The labels should match your existing thermostat terminal assignments.
    • Note: Use the provided blank tags if no matching tags exist.
  6. After labeling the wires, remove the existing wallplate from the wall.
  7. Separate the new Wi-Fi thermostat from its wall plate by grabbing hold of the back corners while holding the front of the thermostat. Hold the wallplate tightly to pull the thermostat apart.
  8. Mount the new Wi-Fi thermostat wallplate using the provided screws and anchors. Check if existing wall anchors can be used by aligning the new wallplate with them.
  9. Wiring for a conventional system:
    • Start with the C wire and match the tag on the wire to the terminal label.
    • Loosen the screw and insert the wire on the inside edge of the terminal, then tighten the screw.
    • Give the wire a gentle tug to confirm it is secure.
    • Repeat the above steps for the remaining wires.
    • Push excess wire back into the wall opening.
  10. Wiring cross-reference for conventional heat pump systems:
    • Remove the metal jumper only if you have both R and RC wires.
  11. Wiring for heat pump systems:
    • Start with the C wire and match the rest of the tags on the wires to the terminal labels.
    • Loosen the screw and insert the wire on the inside edge of the terminal, then tighten the screw.
