Product Information

The NAM5230 HD Android Receiver is a car audio system that offers a range of features and functionality. It comes with various accessories and supports connectivity options like CarbitLink and Zlink. The receiver has a high- definition screen resolution of 1024×600 IPS (1+32G) or 1280×720 IPS (2+32G) and supports FM radio (without AM). It also has pre-output options for 2.1 FL/FR/SUB (1+32G) or 4.1 FL/FR/SUB (2+32G). The receiver supports video output through a separate converter box.

Zlink (Option)
Zlink is a connectivity option available for some iOS mobile phones. To connect your mobile phone to the head unit via Zlink, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth of your mobile phone and connect it to the Bluetooth of the head unit. The Zlink connection interface will automatically pop up after the Bluetooth connection.
  2. Confirm using CarPlay on your mobile phone.
  3. If the above steps don’t work, you need to connect your mobile phone’s WiFi hotspot.

Settings: If the customer selects AV out adapter box, the AV out function should be enabled in the settings menu. The password for enabling this function is “1948”.

Installation Of Your Product

  • In today’s modem vehicles, it is very easy to cause damage to existing systems through improper installation. Please follow and scrutinize all wiring diagrams to ensure that you have connected everything in its proper place.
  • If you find yourself uncomfortable of unfamiliar with understanding the wiring and installation diagrams or testing instructions, do contact your nearest
  • Nakamichi dealer to perform the installation for you.

Safety Warnings And Considerations (For Amplifier / DSP / Active Woofer)

  • Clean only with a dry cloth or other similar materials.
  • Install your product in a dry, well-ventilated location that does not interfere with your vehicle’s safety equipment.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings when installing this product.
  • Do not mount the product in the engine compartment of your vehicle or in any areas of extreme heat such as mufflers, silencers, exhaust pipes
  • Or other heat-producing apparatus. Securely mount the product so that it does not come loose in the event of a collision or as a result of repeated vibrations that might occur
  • During normal operation. Installation of the apparatus must be done with great care to prevent damage to your vehicle’s fuel lines, power, and other electrical wiring,
  • Hydraulic brake lines, and other systems. If possible always visit your
  • Nearest Nakamichi dealer to perform the installation.
  • Do not run any wiring outside or underneath the vehicle. Keep all wires inside the vehicle.
  • Take the necessary precautions when making connections to the vehicle’s battery to avoid any potential shock.
  • Protect all system wires from sharp edges by carefully routing them, always use rubber grommets to protect wiring and cables whenever you are installing them through metal openings.
  • Secure all wiring using cable ties or wire clamps to protect them from moving parts and sharp edges.
  • This apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no object filled with liquids shall be placed on the apparatus.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required
  • When the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as the power input terminals are damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  • Fuses shall be replaced only with the correct type and fuse value, and only when the apparatus is powered off.
  • Exposure to high sound pressure levels may lead to permanent hearing loss. Take every precaution to protect your hearing.
  • This product is designed specifically for use with 12-volt, negative ground electrical systems only. Using this product in systems with positive ground and/or voltages other than 12V may result in damage to the product and your system.

Warranty Considerations

  • Nakamichi warrants this product to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period stated by your country’s authorized Nakamichi distributor.
  • This warranty is not transferable and applies only to the original owner who has purchased from an authorized Nakamichi dealer.
  • Should service be necessary under this warranty for any reason due to manufacturing defect or malfunction, Nakamichi will (at its discretion},
  • Repair or replace the defective product with the new or remanufactured product at no charge.
  • Damage caused by the following is not covered under warranty: accident, misuse, abuse, product modification or neglect, failure to follow installation instructions, unauthorized repair attempts, and misrepresentations by the seller.
  • This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages and does not cover the cost of removing or reinstalling the unit(s}. Cosmetic damage due to accident or normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
  • The warranty is void if the product’s serial number has been removed or defaced.

  1. Power Key: While unit is powered on, short press mutes the unit,While long press turns the unit off.
  2. Home Menu: Press to enter the main menu
  3. Return Key: Press to return to the previous page
  4. Volume +: Press to increase volume,long press increases volume continuously.
  5. Volume -: Press to decrease volume, Long press decreases volume continuously.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In order for safe driving and to avoid violating any traffic regulations, please do not watch any videos and do not operate the unit while driving.
  2. In order to avoid short circuiting the unit, please do not expose the unit to rain or any other source of water.
  3. In order to avoid short circuiting the unit, please do not expose the unit to any bare metal during installation.
  4. Do not attempt to dismantle the unit for maintenance, all service and maintenance should be performed by an authorized service centre or technician.
  5. When the engine is turned off, avoid using the unit for an extended period of time as this might drain the ca~s battery.

Corbit link: (Option)

Press to enter Carbitlink, and the mobile phone can be connected to the in- vehicle infotainment device automatically through Android USB, Android Wi-Fi and iPhone Wi-Fi.

Zlink (Option)

  1. Press to enter Zlink,
    the mobile phone can be connected to the in-vehicle infotainment device through Android USB and iPhone Wi-Fi.

  2. Wireless Zlink:
    I-phone connects the car navigation through Bluetooth, click Zlink to enter the pop-up dialog box, and click use Zlink.

Zlink: (Connection instructions for some iOS mobile phones)

  1. Turn on the bluetooth of the mobile phone to connect the Bluetooth of the head unit. After the bluetooth connection of the car, the ZLink connection interface will pop up automatically.
  2. Confirm using CarPlay on mobile.

BLUETOOTH
After connecting your mobile phone to your unit using Bluetooth, you will be able to make phone calls and play music. Press the Bluetooth icon to enter the Bluetooth interface.

SETTINGS

  1. Network & Internet Wi-Fi: Press the button on the right of  the Wi-Fi to turn on. After turning onthe Wi-Fi, if there is a Wi-Fi network available around device, it can searched in the list, press the name of the WLAN need to connect, and enter the password to connect.
  2. APP: to view all the installed apps.
  3. Storage: to check device storage and storage used.
  4. Security & Location: to turn on or off location function, choose location mode, check App location permissions etc.
  5. Users & accounts: to manage user accounts.
  6. Accessibility: to enable your installed accessibility applications and adiust related settings.
  7. Google: to set the parameters related to Google setting of services & preferences.
  8. Car settings: It can be used for steering wheel control learning, reverse auxiliary line switch setting, etc. Check “Car Settings” for details.

    • b. Date and time: it can select GPS or network to automatically determine the time and date. It allows to customize the setting date, time, time zone and time display format.
    • c. Reset options: can be restored to factory settings.
