ON/OFF: Long press the on/off button (+) to turn on the pen. The light
indicator switches on and you will hear a welcome message. Long press the
on/off button (4) to turn off the pen. The light indicator goes out. You will
hear a beep sound when the pen is inactive for more than 3 minutes
After another 3 minutes, you will hear two beeps and the pen turns off
automatically
Reading books: In order for the pen to reproduce sound from a Geniuso book
properly, you must first activate the Geniuso sound file of the book you want
to work with. You can do this either by placing the pen on the Geniuso logo
located on the cover of the book or on a language bookmark in the book. You
can also activate the audio file by short pressing the Geniuso book reading
activation button (7) until you hear the correct book title Pausing the
reading: Short press the button (9) t0 pause the reading Short press the
button again to resume reading
Volume: Short press the button (8) to increase the volume The pen has five
volume levels. Each time you press the button, the volume increases until it
reaches the maximum Pressing the button after reaching the maximum returns it
to the lowest volume.
Playing mp3 files: Long press the button (9) to activate MP3 playback. Long
press the button again to return to the book reading mode. You can move
forward to the next mp3 file by short pressing the button.
Recording: After long pressing the volume/record button (8) and hearing a
beep, start recording To stop recording, short press the button (8). To listen
to the recording, short press the on/off button (4). The pen first plays the
latest recording. After another short press of the button (4) the pen plays
the recordings from the first one recorded. All recordings are saved in the
AP4 folder of the pen Recordings can be deleted only via computer USB
connection: Connect the turned off pen to a Windows operated computer with a
USB cable.
The light indicator will come on. If a flash drive appears on your computer,
the pen is connected successfully. If you want to use the pen as an MP player,
copy the MP3 files to the MP3 folder of the pen
Charging: The Geniuso pen has a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery If the
battery is low, you will hear 3 beeps. Connect one end of the USB cable to the
input () and the other end to the charger or a computer. The indicator light
flashes red during charging The pen is not able to read or record audio files
while it is charging.
The pen must be recharged regularly Do not leave the battery completely
discharged, as this may result in irreversible loss of its capacity,
Restarting the pen: If the pen ~freezes” during its operation, try turning it
off and on first. If this does not help, gently insert a thin blunt object
into the pen restart hole. The pen restarts.
Data transfer: After connecting the pen to a computer, you can work with the
pen as with a USB flash drive. You can create your own folders, copy, move &
delete files. Do not rename, move or delete the AP4,MP3_REC, SYS folders.
LED LIGHT indicates the status of the pen:
- When the pen is on, a blue light is on.
- When the pen is operating in Geniuso reading mode, the blue light flashes.
- The purple light is on during recording.
- The red light flashes when the battery is low.
- The red light flashes during charging. When the battery is fully charged, a blue light is on.
NOTIFICATIONS/WARNINGS
- Do not use close to the ear! Improper use can cause hearing damage
- Place the pen on the book pages in an upright position
- Do not expose the pen to direct sunlight. The pen is not able to read audio files from books in direct sunlight
- The pen is not waterproof or water resistant, so protect it from contact with water or any liquid
- Choose a suitable volume level when using headphones, otherwise your hearing may be damaged.
- Do not use the on/off button in quick succession. This may shorten battery life
- Do not store the pen in a humid or cold environment
- Do not use the pen in a strong magnetic or electric field
- Use only the recommended charger to charge the pen, or connect the pen to a computer with a USB cable
- The charger may only be connected or disconnected from the power supply under the supervision of an adult
- Do not place anything heavy on the pen and avoid dropping it
- Do not push any objects into the pen tip/connectors buttons
- Do not disconnect the USB cable while copying data, otherwise the data may be damaged or lost
- Never use organic solvents or detergents to clean the pen If necessary, clean the pen with a soft damp cloth
- Do not disassemble the pen, otherwise it may be damaged or data may be lost. Do not attempt to repair it In the event of damage, contact your dealer
If the pen is not used in accordance with the instructions in this user manual, the pen is not covered by the warranty!
