Product Usage Instructions

Using the V-Shaped Head:

  • Push the corner or edge of an object to move it or guide and control the load.
  • Push on a flat surface to move an object.
  • Push suspended vertical tubing.
  • Push objects along a rolling rack.
  • Push tubulars along a pipe rack.
  • Push rolling objects on the ground.

Using the Opposing Grab Hooks:

  • Pull or push cable, wire rope, or chain slings to guide and control a load.
  • Pull or push cargo baskets with rims up to 5 inches in width.
  • Pull or push suspended vertical tubing (1.5 inches diameter or less)
  • Retrieve tagline without being under the load.

Proper Hand Placement:

DO’s:

  • Always wear proper personal protective equipment as the job requires.
  • Use both hands when operating the tool.
  • Use the tool only for push/pull/guiding/rolling applications.
  • Inspect the tool before each use.
  • Stand with both feet firmly planted on the ground.
  • Clean the tool after each use and store it in a clean, dry environment.

DON’Ts:

  • Do not use the tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
  • Do not use the tool if damaged.
  • Do not use the tool as a pry bar.
  • Do not overreach.

INTRODUCTION

The ShoveIt® all-purpose hand safety tool enables workers to remain a safe distance away from danger zones and pinch points while maneuvering suspended loads or any other moveable object. The versatile V-shaped head allows workers to safely push against flat surfaces, corners, edges and tubulars. Opposing grab hooks can push and pull cables, slings, taglines, cargo basket rims or any other small diameter object. Proper usage and body positioning is the key to safe operations.

Using the V-Shaped Head:

  • Push the corner or edge of an object to move it or guide and control the load.

  • Push on a flat surface to move an object.

  • Push suspended vertical tubing.

  • Push objects along a rolling rack.

  • Push tubulars along a pipe rack.

  • Push rolling objects on the ground.

Using the Opposing Grab Hooks:

  • Pull or push cable, wire rope, or chain slings to guide and control a load.
