References

  1. Smart fan controlled by the built-in thermal sensor and it comes with 2 modes (auto / manual) and 3 levels of speed:
    • Level 1: higher than 55 °C 2,500pm ~ 3,500pm
    • Level 2: 45 °C ~ 54 °C 1,800pm ~ 2,500pm
    • Level 3: below 45 °C 1,200pm ~ 1,800грт
  2. Support USB transfer speeds of Low speed (1.5Mbps), Full speed (12Mbps), High Speed (480Mbps), Super Speed (5Gbps), eSATA transfer speed (1.5~6.0Gbps)
  3. Interface of USB / eSATA can not be used at the same time.
  4. Under Windows 10, 11 users can enable GPT when initializing HDD with a total capacity of more than 2TB.
  5. Native KN Hard Drive Not Supported.

Reminders

  • Follow all instructions.
  • Do not place this device near water.
  • Clean only with dry cloth.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Do not place near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or the devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the devices.
  • Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon them or against them.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the devices has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the devices, the devices has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
  • Carefully read and follow the Ouick Install Guide and User Manual.
  • Do not drop or shake the device.
  • Do not move the device when it is powered on.
  • Do not overload wall outlets.

Setup Procedure

Set up procedure / Understanding Interface and Sync Button

  • Make sure enclosure is connected to a computer that is ON, by USB or Sata .If not enclosure will just turn off.
  • When using USB (2) USB LED will be ON. If you see (1) eSata LED ON,
  • Then enclosure is set to eSata interface. Hold down on the interface button until you see (2) USB LED ON. If not set to correct interface being used, enclosure will just Turn off. *If using Sata (1) Sata LED will be ON. If you see (2› USB LED ON, Then enclosure interface is set to USB.
  • Hold down on the interface button until you see (1) Sata LED ON. If not set to correct interfave being use. Enclosure will just Turn off.
  • When using eSata, you need an eSata card that supports FIS Port multiplier. Otherwise you may see only 1 Hard drive or no Hard drive at all.
  • Set the Power Sync mode to your preference. *These are the Power Sync modes:
    • Blue LED When PC is turned off, the enclosure will turn off in 15 seconds (when you turn on the PC you will have to turn on the enclosure)
    • Orange LED When PC is turned off, the enclosure will go into sleeping mode (When you turn on the PC, the enclosure will turn on automatically)
    • OFF(No LED) No Power sync, Enclosure stays on when you turn PC off hold the Sync button to switch between them

Descriptions

  1. Power button It needs to be pressed and held for 3 seconds to power off. This design prevents accidental power off.

Quick Installation Guide

  1. Please use the provided screws to secure the handles to the HDDs.

  4. Install the HDDs from up to down.
  5. Close and secure the covers.
  6. Plug in USB or eSATA cable USB interface is the default setting and if users wish to change to eSATA, press and hold “Interface” for 3 seconds.

Initialization

TroubleShooting

  1. If the device (8 HDDs installed) is connected to the PC with eSATA cable and the SATA HDD icon does not come out in 8, please check if the eSATA interface card supports Port Multiplier or update the eSATA driver version.
  2. If the transfer rate is not normal, please check if the SATA HDD jumper is set up in 1.5 or 3.0Gbps.
  3. For Macintosh users, under MAC 10.6.X or later, it’s strongly recommended not to have the same name for all the HDDs.
  4. For Windows users, if the device could not recognize more than 5 HDDs when using eSATA interface, please check if the eSATA port of the motherboard and PCI-e host card can recognize more than 5 hard drives.
  5. If there is noise with the fan, unscrew and take out the fan cover, pull out the power cord, clean the fan and assemble it back.

  7. If the fan stops working, a replacement fan can be purchased.
