The Motorcycle Smart Screen MT55 is a smart travel device that integrates various features for motorcycles. It includes smart streaming, smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi video), Bluetooth, dash cam, and playback functions. The dash cam features front and rear P cameras, one- touch snapshots, and ultra-low power standby capabilities.

Installation

Mount the Main Part:

  1. This model is only suitable for the installation of fuel motorcycles, except electric motorcycles or electric vehicles.
  2. Take power: B+(normal): The vellow power cable is connected to the positive terminal of the battery or the normal circuit. Open the fuse box, and measure the safety or empty safety bit with 12V voltage with a multimeter or a test pen under the ACC state.
  3. GND: The black cable connects to the negative electrode of the battery or the negative electrode is connected to the iron.
  4. ACC: The red wire takes the wire for ACC. Open the safety box, turn off ACC (instrument is not bright) state voltage is 0, and there is 12V safety or empty safety bit in the state of ACC/ start the vehicle, it can be used as ACC power.
    Note: Please ensure that all the above three cables are correctly connected before connecting the host to avoid problems.

Installation Steps:

  1. Host device fixing: Fix the holder and host device together.
  2. Attach the holder to the handlebar of the Motorcycle:
  3. Adjust the lens position to ensure that the lens is centered in the recording frame.
  4. Attach the wire controller to the far right of the left handle for easy thumb operation.
  5. Introduction of wire control function

Note: Only Apple CarPlay Mode allows Users to use the Wire Controller to hang up and answer calls.
Installation Overview:

Function

Interface Specification:

  1. Home: Click to return to the Home Page.
  2. Brightness: Click to adjust the screen brightness(Note that the brightness adjustment can be made between automatic and manual, click the icon or to switch, in automatic mode, the brightness bar is not adjustable).
  3. Audio Output: Click to enter the Audio Output interface, and follow the interface prompts to connect the smartphone to the motorcycle’s Bluetooth earphone.
  4. DVR: Click to enter the video recording interface.
  5. Apple CarPlay: Dedicated screen projection interface for iPhones.
  6. Android Auto: Dedicated screen projection interface for Android phones.
  7. Wi-Fi Video: Click to enter smartphone Wi-Fi connection mode, scan, and download the app for viewing and recording videos on your smartphone.
  8. Video playback: Click to view recorded videos/captured images/locked videos.
  9. Settings: Click to enter the function settings interface.

Automatic brightness adjustment introduction:

  • A built-in light sensor on the lower left side of the machine automatically recognizes the brightness of the surroundings. It adjusts the brightness of the host’s screen for improved comfort. It is not possible to adjust the brightness manually in auto-brightness mode.
  • Click the icon on the left navigation bar of the Home Page to enter the brightness adjustment mode. means the host device is in automatic brightness adjustment mode, click to turn off the automatic brightness adjustment mode.

Status Bar Icon Description:

The icons here only indicate the working status display of the host device- related functions.

Rain Mode (Lock Touch-screen):

To prevent the screen from being accidentally touched by raindrops on a rainy day, you can long press the third button of the Wire Controller for 5 seconds to turn on the rain mode. When this mode is turned on, the screen touch will be turned off and can be unlocked by long pressing the third button of the Wire Controller again for 5 seconds.

Apple CarPlay Introduction:

  1. MT55 supports Apple CarPlay, please follow the instructions on the host screen to connect your iPhone. After the first successful connection of Apple CarPlay, the host will automatically connect to the iPhone every time it starts,no need to set up again.
  2. Click on the icon on the Home Page to enter the Apple CarPlay option and confirm your selection. ¿ Turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of your iPhone, select the Bluetooth named BTRX-**** (when searching for the first time, it will be displayed in “Other
  3. Devices”, “, you can see it by scrolling down; please select “Pair” during the connection process). After the Bluetooth connection is successful, the host will automatically switch to the Apple CarPlay display interface.
  4. The iPhone pops up the Contacts and Favorites Sync information. Choose according to your needs. Choose “Allow”, the Contacts and Favorites will be synchronized to the product. Choose “Don’t Allow”, incoming calls will be displayed as phone numbers instead of contact list names.
  5. When connecting to CarPlay for the first time, the iPhone will pop up authorizing the device “SmartScreen” to use CarPlay. Please select “Use CarPlay”, otherwise the device’s CarPlay connection will not be successful.

  7. Click Assistive Touch to display the shortcut menu: [Back to Home], [DVR], [Audio Output], [Brightness Adjustment].

Note:

  1. Apple CarPlay only supports iPhones (iPhone requirement is iPhone5 and above, IOS system version requirement is IOS13 and above).
  2. When the host is powered on, it will try to connect to the last connectediPhone device automatically. If you use a new iPhone to connect to the host, you need to turn off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of the relevant iPhone that was last connected to the host, or the new iPhone will not be connected successfully.
  3. If you need to disconnect Apple CarPlay, please turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your iPhone to disconnect. Turning off Wi-Fi only or Bluetooth only, the iPhone will keep trying to reconnect to the host.
  4. Disconnect it through the shortcut icon in the iPhone control center, you need to turn off Bluetooth, click on the Wi-Fi icon again, and select “Disconnect” in the iPhone pops up to truly disconnect.
  5. How to add/delete APPs in the projection screen when the host is successfully connected to the iPhone (commonly used apps cannot be deleted, those with a delete icon can be deleted):
    • Open the iPhone Settings, click “General”;
    • Click “CarPlay” – “Smart Screen”;
    • Click “Customize” and the apps that have already been displayed can be edited, deleted, and added.

Android Auto Introduction

MT55 supports Android Auto, please follow the instructions on the host screen to connect vour Android phone. After the first successful connection of Android Auto, the host will automatically connect to the phone every time it starts, no need to set up again.

  1. Click on the icon on the Home Page to enter the Android Auto option and confirm your selection.
  2. Turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of your Android phone, and select the Bluetooth named BTRX-**** (when searching for the first time, it will be displayed in “Other  Devices”, you can see it by scrolling down; please select “Pair during the connection process). After the Bluetooth connection is successful, the host will automatically switch to the Android Auto display interface.
  3. Click the Details icon for detailed connection steps and connection FAOs.
  4. Click Assistive Touch to display the shortcut menu: Back to Home, [DVR], [Audio Output), [Brightness Adjustment].

Note:

  1. Android Auto only supports Android phones.
  2. When the host is powered on, it will try to connect to the last connected Android phone device automatically. If you use a new Android phone to connect to the host, you need to turn off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of the relevant Android phone that was last connected to the host, or the new Android phone will not be connected successfully.
  3. If you need to disconnect Android Auto, please turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your Android phone to disconnect. Turning off Wi-Fi only or Bluetooth only, the Android phone will keep trying to reconnect to the host.
  4. Disconnect it through the shortcut icon in the phone control center, You need to turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi icons together.

Wi-Fi Video Introduction:

  1. MT55 supports Wi-Fi Video, please follow the instructions on the host screen to connect your phone.
  2. Click on the icon on the Home Page to enter the Wi-Fi Video option and confirm your selection.
  3. Please scan the QR code on the host screen to download the APP.
  4. After downloading, open the APP and follow the prompts to connect Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi name: RTSP-**, *, password as shown on the host.
  5. Click the Details icon for detailed connection steps and connection FAQs
  6. When connecting APP, it needs to obtain the relevant permissions of your smartphone to ensure the normal operation of the function, such as location, local network, etc. Please select “Allow”, otherwise you will not be able to connect successfully. If you have chosen “not allow”, you need to uninstall the APP and re-download it, reconnect to and then choose “Allow” the authorization.
  7. After a successful connection, the host will enter the recording interface, at this time you cannot perform any operation on the host. You can watch/download the recorded video, take photos, or set various parameters on your cell phone via APP.
  8. If you need to disconnect the Wi-Fi video, please turn off the Wi-Fi on your smartphone. Note that there is a delay when disconnecting, please wait for 1-2 minutes before operating the host.

Warm Tips: In Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mode, Bluetooth will be released immediately after the smartphone screen is projected. The smartphone can still connect to Bluetooth devices such as motorcycle Bluetooth headset.

DVR Introduction:

  1. The Home Page will not directly display the recording interface, you need to click on the DVR icon to enter.
  2. After the Micro SD card is inserted into the host and effectively recognized, the system will automatically enter recording mode.
  3. Icon Instructions:
  4. Lock Video Function Description:
  5. The number of videos that can be locked depends on the capacity of the
  6. Micro SD card. Generally, the number of videos that can be locked to different specifications of Micro SD cards is approximately as follows: 16GB = 20, 32GB 40, 64GB = 80, 128GB = 160, and 256GB = 320.
  7. The Micro SD card supports a minimum of 16GB and a maximum of 256GB.
  8. If the locked video capacity exceeds the Micro SD capacity, the earliest locked video will be overwritten first. For example, 16GB Micro SD card can lock 20 videos, when locking the 21st video, the 21st video will overwrite the first one and the 22nd video will overwrite the second one.

Audio Output Introduction:

  1. Click on the icon on the left navigation bar to enter the Audio Output interface.
  2. Turn on the smartphone Bluetooth and connect to the motorcycle Bluetooth headset. After a successful connection, all sounds emitted by the MT55 host will be transmitted to the motorcycle Bluetooth headset for playback.
  3. Directly turn off the smartphone’s Bluetooth or power off the motorcycle Bluetooth headset to disconnect.
  4. If the sound is abnormal, please disconnect the smartphone from the headset.
  5. To exit the Audio Output interface, click the icon to return to the Home Page.

Video Playback Introduction:

  1. Click the icon on Home Page to enter the Video Playback interface.
  2. You can select [Video], [Photo], or [Locked Video] folder, after selecting, you can click the select button on the right side of the file to delete, lock or unlock the video.
  3. To delete or lock a video/photo, click the icon on the right to select Delete or Lock Video.

Settings Introduction:
The settings interface is divided into three parts: “Display”, “Camera”, and “System”.

  2. Brightness] setting:
    • You can set the Auto-brightness mode on or off, and you can also set the Auto-brightness minimum and maximum brightness limits.
    • Drag the left white dot button to set the minimum brightness limit, and drag the right white dot button to set the maximum brightness limit. The setting will be saved automatically when it is completed, and you can exit the setting by clicking the [Close] button.
