Installation
-
Remove the cartridge from the mounting plate to ease installation. Thread two (2) male quick-connect fittings onto each end of the cartridge. Find one fitting plugged into the black input hose and the other packaged with the Purity-Light.
-
Attach the mounting plate vertically to the wall. Position the mounting plate with the strap at eye level to ease cartridge replacement. Re-attach the cartridge to the mounting plate with the strap.
NOTE: The water flows down through the cartridge for proper results. -
Loosen the 4 screws holding the case lid slightly and remove the tape sticking out of the case (this will activate the batteries). Re-tighten all 4 screws. Remove the backing tape from the Velcro strips (both places) on the black case and stick to the backboard above the hose hanger (as shown right) and central to the backboard with the wire sticking out to your left. Press gently until both strips have adhered properly.
-
Attach one end of the input hose to the water supply and the other end to the top of the cartridge. Attach the Purity-Light to the bottom of the cartridge, using the quick-connect coupling.
-
Connect the blue output hose to the threaded bottom of the Purity-Light. Thread the yellow quick-connect from the Watering Gun to the output hose. Attach the Watering Gun, or Flow Restrictor, to the output hose. Turn on the water and ensure all connections are water tight. Operate the Gun for a few seconds to flush out any residue in the system. NOTE: When using the Deionizer without a Gun, use the provided Flow Restrictor when activating the cartridge.
Activate Cartridge
To activate a new deionizer cartridge after installation, allow between
5-10 gallons of water to flow through the cartridge, using either the Flow
Restrictor or a watering gun. This activates the resin that deionizes the
water. The Purity Light will begin to flash green when enough water has passed
through the cartridge.
Operation
- Turn on the water and squeeze the Watering Gun trigger until all the air is exhausted and a smooth, steady flow emerges. The system is now operational. If the water pressure is above 75 psi (6 bar), the user must order the optional pressure regulator, PS-PR.
- When finished, turn off the water and operate the Gun to relieve the pressure on the hoses. Coil the hose and store on the hanger provided.
- As the cartridge becomes exhausted, the Purity-Light will begin to blink Red. This is the signal for cartridge replacement. The water is still pure and usable for a very limited time after the light turns red.
NOTE: Do not discard the quick-connect fittings with the cartridge.
Replace Batteries when the purity light goes out.
Flashing Green Light – Deionizer is ready to dispense battery water
Flashing Red Light – The cartridge needs to be replaced.
No Light-Power problem, replace batteries, or check A/C power.
Deionizer cartridges have a five year shelf life from date of manufacture.
