FalkenOhr CS-II Genium Line Cable Laying System
Product Information
The Genium Line – Cable laying system CS-II is a specialized cable laying system designed for Hi-Fi systems. It is a solution provided by FalkenOhr audio furniture to ensure outstanding sound quality and minimize interference in audio components and connecting cables.
The CS-II cable laying system addresses both electromagnetic interference and mechanical vibrations that can affect the reproduction quality of the audio system. It provides heat and mechanical decoupling of cables to optimize their performance.
The system is compatible with all Genium models and offers benefits such as invisible cable installation, protection against dust, and easy cleaning. It features various components including shelves, stands with spikes and spike shoes, cladding, drawers, installation areas, top side cable inlets with covers and brushes, pluggable rear panels, pendulum flaps, divider profiles, strain relief, and an integrated power strip.
Optional lockable pendulum flaps are available for models 516 or 317, which further enhance the aesthetic appearance by minimizing visible cabling from the front of the furniture.
The CS-II cable laying system ensures efficient cable routing and organization, reducing the impact of vibrations and interference on the Hi-Fi system’s sound quality.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure you have all the necessary components of the CS-II cable laying system, including shelves, stands, cladding, drawers, installation areas, top side cable inlets, pluggable rear panels, pendulum flaps, divider profiles, strain relief, and an integrated power strip.
- Choose an appropriate location for your Hi-Fi system and assemble the audio furniture according to the provided instructions.
- Position the shelves, stands, and drawers in the desired configuration, ensuring sufficient space for your audio components.
- Install the cladding to enclose the audio furniture, providing a clean and elegant appearance.
- Place the audio components on the shelves and connect them using high-quality cables.
- For optimal cable routing and decoupling, use the CS-II cable laying system. Ensure the cables are shielded from electromagnetic interference and mechanically decoupled from vibrations.
- Route the cables through the top side cable inlets, utilizing the provided covers and brushes to protect against dust.
- Connect the cables to the appropriate connectors on the audio components, ensuring secure connections.
- If using models 516 or 317, consider installing the optional lockable pendulum flaps to minimize visible cabling from the front of the furniture.
- Ensure proper strain relief for the cables using the strain relief feature of the CS-II cable laying system.
- If needed, connect the audio components to the integrated power strip for convenient power management.
- Once all the connections are made, verify that there are narrow slots remaining between the devices and installation levels, indicating a tidy and well-organized cable installation.
- After completing the installation, enjoy your Hi-Fi system with improved sound quality and a visually clean setup.

Much more than just a Hi-Fi rack.
Dear music lover,in this guide, we will try to explain the technological
requirements for cable routing as clearly as possible and to present the
solutions derived from them in FalkenOhr audio furniture.

FUNCTIONALITY
In order to enable an outstanding sound of the components of your HiFi system,
they must be kept as free as possible from interference. Of course, the same
applies to the connecting cables.
In addition to the classic electromagnetic interference, which can be reduced
to a minimum by excellent shielding of the cables themselves, mechanical
vibrations and shocks also influence the reproduction quality.
Vibrations occur in several ways and can be transmitted by structure-borne or
airborne sound.
Structure-borne sound is generated, for example, in the housings of the hi-fi
components themselves and is transmitted from there directly to the cables.
These vibrations are present to a greater or lesser extent depending on the
design of the components.
The airborne sound for example generated by loudspeakers stimulates our
eardrum but also all other bodies to vibrate.
This results in the following criteria for the best possible cable installation:
- Extensive structure-borne noise decoupling of the cables from vibrating bodies
- Decoupling of the cable laying from the airborne noise by a housing = FalkenOhr Genium Line
- Conversion of the inevitable vibrations introduced into the cable into heat
- Lay cables floating freely and as tension-free as possible without clamps
As a result of these requirements, we have developed our new CS-II cable laying system with the following features.
- NBR O-rings for cable bearing – for conversion of vibration energy into heat and for mechanical decoupling of cables
- Flexible use for cable diameters from 6-20 mm
- conversion of vibration energy into heat
- Additional decoupling of the cable mounting bar to the HiFi rack
Your benefit: Clean orderly cable routing and a minimization of external interference on the cabling and thus a clear improvement in the sound quality of your electronics.
Genium Line – Installation Area
The CS-II cable laying system is used in all our Genium models.
- Genium Line models are equipped with a separate, very easily accessible space (=installation area) for cable installation.
- Designed for cable diameters up to 20 mm and plug diameters up to 42 mm – Not suitable for very stiff cables!
- Completely decoupled from the sound core.
Your benefit: “Invisible cable installation”, protection against dust and easy cleaning.
- Shelf
- Stand incl. Spikes and spike shoes
- Cladding
- Drawer
- Installation area
- Top side cable inlet with cover and brushes
- Pluggable rear panel
- Pendulum flaps
- Divider profiles
- Strain relief
- Power strip integrated
Pendulum flaps
Lockable pendulum flaps for models 516 or 317 (optional).
- The pendulum flaps can be opened or completely removed during cable installation.
- After completion of the installation, they can be reinserted respectively locked.
- Spatial separation between the equipment area and the installation area.
Your benefit: After completion of the installation, only narrow slots remain between the device and installation levels. You can see virtually nothing of the cabling from the front of the furniture.
