NINTENDO SWITCH PowerA Wireless Controller
Product Information
The product is a wireless controller designed for use with the Nintendo Switch console. It features LED indicators, programmable buttons, and requires two AA alkaline batteries for operation.
Product Usage Instructions
System Update Check:
- Connect your Nintendo Switch to the internet.
- In most cases, system updates will be downloaded automatically once connected online.
- Select System Settings from the HOME menu, then scroll down to System to view the System Update version and automatically check for a system update.
- For further assistance, visit the Nintendo support website and search for system update.
Battery Installation:
- Remove the battery compartment cover and insert two AA alkaline batteries.
- Ensure that the Nintendo Switch console is turned on.
Wireless Pairing:
- In the HOME menu, select Controllers, then Change Grip and Order.
- While viewing the following screen, press and hold the SYNC button on the controller to be paired for at least three seconds.
LED Indicator Information:
The controller has three LED positions: top, front, and bottom.
- The four LEDs at the bottom indicate the player number (1-8) and will scroll from left to right during wireless pairing.
Advanced Game Button Assignment:
- In the HOME menu, select Controllers, then Change Grip and Order.
- Select the controller to assign buttons to.
- Press and hold the desired button to be assigned, then press the desired advanced game button simultaneously.
- Repeat the procedure for the other advanced game button.
- Note: The programmed advanced game button assignments will be saved even after disconnecting.
Reprogramming or Resetting Advanced Game Buttons:
- In the HOME menu, select Controllers, then Change Grip and Order.
- Press AGL or AGR to individually reset each button, or hold the programming button for 5 seconds to reset both buttons simultaneously.
Troubleshooting:
- Issue: My wireless controller is not pairing.
- Solution: Confirm that you are following the wireless pairing process.
- Solution: Remove and replace the alkaline batteries to reset the wireless controller.
Safety Instructions:
To prevent leakage from batteries:
- Do not mix different types of batteries.
- Do not mix new and used batteries.
- Remove batteries when not in use for long periods.
WARNING: To prevent fire or explosion:
- Do not expose batteries to heat or fire.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire or water.

SET UP
Check for system update. Nintendo Switch system update version 6.0.1 or later is required for use of PowerA Wireless controllers.
- Connect your Nintendo Switch to the Internet
- Typically, system updates will be downloaded automatically when connected online.
- Select ‘System Settings’ from HOME menu, then scroll down to ‘System’ to see System Update version and automatically check for system update.
For additional help, search ‘System Update’ from Nintendo Support website.
INSTALL BATTERIES
- Remove the Battery Compartment Door and install (2) AA Alkaline Batteries (included)
- Confirm your Nintendo Switch console is powered ON.
WIRELESS PAIRING
From the HOME Menu, select ‘Controllers’, then ‘Change Grip/ Order.’ While the following screen is displayed, press and hold down the SYNC Button for at least three seconds on the controller you wish to pair.
NOTE:
- Do not touch the Left Stick or Right Stick when pairing your controller.
- After the controller is paired with a Nintendo Switch console, it will auto-connect again when the console and controller are powered ON.
- Up to eight wireless controllers can be connected to a Nintendo Switch console at the same time. The maximum number of controllers that can be connected will vary depending on the type of controllers and features that are used.
- A maximum of two wireless controllers can be connected to a Nintendo Switch system while using Bluetooth audio. To pair additional wireless controllers disconnect the Bluetooth audio device.
- Pressing the Sync Button while connected will turn the controller off.
- This controller can be used when the Nintendo Switch is docked or undocked.
- This controller does not support HD rumble, IR camera, motion controls or amiibo™ NFC.
UNDERSTANDING LED INDICATORS
- The Battery Status LED will blink red when the internal battery is near depletion.
- The Program Status LED will blink during programming of Advanced Gaming Buttons.
- The four LEDs on the bottom indicate player number 1-8 and will cycle from left to right during wireless pairing.
ASSIGNING ADVANCED GAMING BUTTONS
- Hold the Program Button down for 2-3 seconds. The Program Status LED will slowly blink, signaling the controller is in assign mode.
- Press one of the following buttons (A/B/X/Y/L/R/ZL/ZR/Left Stick Press/Right Stick Press/+Control Pad) you wish to assign to an Advanced Gaming Button. Then press the Advanced Gaming Button (AGR or AGL) that you wish to perform that function. The Program Status LED will stop blinking, signaling the Advanced Gaming Button has been set.
- Repeat for the remaining Advanced Gaming Button.
NOTE: Advanced Gaming Button assignments will remain in memory even after disconnected.
RESETTING ADVANCED GAMING BUTTONS
- Hold the program button down for 2-3 seconds. The Program Status LED will slowly flash, signaling the controller is in program mode.
- Press either AGL or AGR to individually reset each button, or hold down the Program Button for 5 seconds to reset both simultaneously.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Q1. My Wireless Controller is not pairing.
- A1. Confirm batteries are properly installed according to the polarity indicated in the battery compartment and are not drained, used or damaged.
- A2. Confirm you are following the ‘Wireless Pairing’ process.
- A3. Remove and replace the Alkaline batteries to reset theWireless controller.
Q2. Why don’t I feel any vibration and/or why don’t motion controls work?
- A1. This product does not support vibration functionality or motion controls.

BATTERY LEAKAGE WARNING
- Leakage of chemicals contained within the battery pack can cause personal injury as well as damage to game controller.
- Avoid allowing battery chemicals to contact skin. If contact occurs, immediately wash thoroughly with soap and water.
- If liquid leaking from a battery pack comes into contact with your eyes, DO NOT RUB EYES! Immediately flush eyes thoroughly with clean running water and seek medical attention to prevent injury to eyes.
- Leaking batteries may make popping sounds.
To avoid battery leakage:
- Do not mix used and new batteries. Replace all batteries at the same time.
- Do not mix different brands of batteries.
- Alkaline batteries recommended. Do not use Lithium ion, nickel cadmium (nicad), or carbon zinc batteries.
- Do not leave batteries in the remote for long periods of non-use.
- Do not recharge alkaline or non-rechargeable batteries.
- Do not put the batteries in backwards. Make sure that the positive (+) and negative (-) ends are facing in the correct directions. Insert the negative end first.
- When removing batteries, remove the positive end first.
- Do not use damaged, deformed or leaking batteries.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the controller.
BATTERY FIRE/EXPLOSION WARNING
To avoid fire or explosion:
- Do not place battery in a fire or hot oven.
- Do not crush, cut, or subject battery to impact.
- Do not leave battery in a high-temperature environment such as direct sunlight or inside of a car during hot weather.
- Do not leave battery in a low-pressure environment (e.g., in checked baggage of an airplane).
- Do not short circuit the power terminals.
MOTION WARNING
Playing video games can make your muscles, joints, skin or eyes hurt. Follow
these instructions to avoid problems such as tendinitis, carpal tunnel
syndrome, skin irritation or eyestrain:

Avoid excessive play. Take a 10- to 15-minute break every hour, even if you don’t think you need it. Parents should monitor
their children for appropriate play. -
If your hands, wrists, arms or eyes become tired or sore while playing, or if you feel symptoms such as tingling, numbness, burning or stiffness, stop and rest for several hours before playing again.

If you continue to have any of the above symptoms or other discomfort during or after play, stop playing and see a doctor.
