NOTE: EITHER HOLE LOCATION IS SUITABLE.
IF THE SIDE JAMB LOCATION IS REQUIRED, MEASURE THE DEPTH OF THE JAMB FIRST.
THE SHADE MOUNTING BRACKET IS 4″ SQUARE, SO THE HOLE SHOULD BE LOCATED FROM
THE WALL FACE TO ENSURE THE FASCIA IS FLUSH. IF THE JAMB IS LESS THAN 4″,
MEASURE FROM THE WINDOW OUT TO ENSURE BRACKET FITS OVER THE WIRE. IT IS NOT
NECESSARY TO PULL CAT5 CABLE FOR 120V ONLY SHADE INSTALLATION.

Pair Remote to RF Shade
For shades that require RF control, it is important to pair your PowerShades remote to your PowerShade once it is installed. Once your remote is successfully paired with your shade, you will be able to adjust your shades with a push of a button.
- Hold motor button located on the shade motor head for 3 seconds – motor jogs up and down
- Hold Stop Button on remote for 3 seconds – motor jogs up and down. The motor is now paired to the remote.
Please note: With the multi-channel remote you will need to select the channel you’d like to pair the shade to prior to steps 1 and 2.
Best Practices
To unpair the remote from the motor, repeat the steps above.
To pair a back-up remote to the motor, press the (P) button 2 times on Remote
A (already paired existing remote) then press the (P) button once on Remote B
(new remote).

Maintenance
PowerShades maintenance is simple and easy so you can focus more on future projects.
Charging Shade Battery
With battery operated shades, there comes times where you may need to charge
it. Battery operated shades come with a Micro USB Cable. We recommend charging
the shade once every 6-8 months.
Duration between charges varies on amount of usage throughout the cycle. This
is something a home-owner can do on their own. No need to go out and replace
batteries.
- Connect the micro USB cable into a USB power supply AC adapter
- With the micro USB cable connected, plug the AC power supply into the wall
- Connect the micro USB into the port on the shade motor to initiate charge.
- Let the shade charge for roughly 8 hours to get a full successful charge.
Charging your True PoE Shade
- You don’t have to – it’s True PoE
- That’s it!
Cleaning your Shade
If necessary, fabric may need to be cleaned. It is vital to avoid strong cleaners and disinfectants, especially those containing quaternary ammonium compounds and phenols to ensure the integrity of the fabric. The proper procedure is as follows:
- Clean with mild soap and water
- If cleaners other than mild soap and water are desired, test in an inconspicuous area prior to use.
- Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.
Note: Paint solvents will damage the vinyl surface of the fabric and should not be used.
Motor Trouble Shooting
For consumer knowledge we provide simple troubleshooting for our motors. As you press and hold the motor button, the motor will jog. The longer you hold the button, the more jogs. The number of jogs initiates different troubleshooting actions.
Motor Jogs
- Motor Jog: Initiates pairing mode
- Motor Jog: Puts motor to sleep (1 button press to wake)
- Motor Jog: Reverses roll direction
- Motor Jog: Motor reset
Note: A jog is an up and down motion of the shade
