ASPIRE HYBRID COMFORT MATTRESS
PTM638005 Aspire Hybrid Comfort Mattress
Hybrid Comfort Mattress
The HYBRID COMFORT is an
Acute mattress system offering foam-in-cell technology enabling flexible
operation as a high comfort foam static support surface or a powered-up
alternating pressure support surface. Specifically reengineered for increased
patient comfort, foam layering now effectively supports patient weight ranging
from 50-230kg.
The HYBRID COMFORT is rated for use with people with a medium to high pressure
care risk.
FEATURES
-
Immersive Visco-elastic Memory Foam Surface: Top layer is now twice as thick to offer significant improvement in user immersion, envelopment and comfort.
-
Self-Adjusting Pressure Redistribution: In nonpowered mode, 9 interconnected foam filled cells allow air to move freely between them via the user’s body movements. An integrated memory foam overlay improves immersion, envelopment and comfort.
-
Intelligent Hose Management: When not in use the air-hose can be stored internally, reducing infection control and OH&S risks.
-
Integrated Shear Reduction: Memory foam layer moves independently of the cell surface reducing shear when bed is adjusted.
-
Optimised Heel Protection: Tapered heel zone redistributes pressure to lower leg, away from the vulnerable heel region. The castellated surface collapses in a wave-like movement reducing shear.
-
Innovative pump technology: Reduces noise and vibration for undisrupted sleep.
-
Effective Weight Range: 50kg – 230kg
-
Pressure Care Risk Rating: Medium to High
-
Infection Control: Medical Grade Waterfall Covers are fully-welded over the zipper to maximise infection control.
-
Skin Microclimate: The 4-way stretch cover reduces shear and offers a high Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate (MVTR) to promote air flow and optimal skin microclimate.
-
CPR Compatible: In non-powered mode, the foam-core cells allow CPR to take place. When in powered mode, simply disconnect the pump to facilitate resuscitation.
-
Reduced Manual Handling Effort:
– By attaching the pump, support surface performance can be stepped up or down to meet user n eeds. This reduces the need to transfer users and manually swap mattresses.
– Int egrated carry handles for safe manual handling -
Hospital Grade Infection Control: ALL LIFECOMFORT® MATTRESSES are fitted with superior, hospital-grade polyurethane coated covers designed to withstand the rigors of usage and cleaning requirements in Home Care, Aged Care and up to Acute Care environments.
IDEAL USER CONDITIONS
- The Hybrid Mattress System is suitable for use with ambulant and non-ambulant people with high pressure care needs within the following settings:
– Community
– Aged Care
– Hospital
The HYBRID COMFORT would benefit:
- Bed users assessed as having a high risk of, or a history of pressure injuries. The Hybrid Mattress system provides the ability to easily step-up or step-down the level of support required without the need to source, change or transfer the bed user on/off their mattress. By connecting to the pump, the hybrid support surface converts from a static foam mattress to an alternating pressure care mattress with minimal delay and rapid intervention for at risk users. In addition, there is likely reduced pain and disruption for the client as they do not need to be transferred to allow the mattresses to be swapped and the bed remade.
- Bed users with reduced bed mobility or who spend extended periods on their bed and require a high risk rated mattress
- Bed users who have a high risk of pressure injury who find it difficult to sleep on an alternating air mattress due to reduced comfort, noise, movement or reduced independence with bed mobility or transfers.
- Formal and informal carers through reduced manual handling as a single mattress is utilised.
- Community based bed users who require the security of an alternating air mattress that won’t bottom out if there is a disruption to the power source. The powered Hybrid Mattress will revert to the static foam mattress during a power outage.
CLIENT OUTCOMES
Reduced risk for developing a pressure injury:
- Medium to High mattress risk rating
- Skin Microclimate: The 4-way stretch cover reduces shear and offers a high Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate (MVTR) to promote air flow and optimal skin microclimate
- Integrated Shear Reduction: Memory foam layer moves independently of the cell surface reducing shear when bed is adjusted.
- Optimised Heel Protection: Tapered heel zone redistributes pressure to lower leg, away from the vulnerable heel region. The castellated surface collapses in a wave-like movement reducing shear.
- Immersive Visco-elastic Memory Foam Surface: Top layer is now twice as thick to offer significant improvement in user immersion, envelopment and comfort
- Self-Adjusting Pressure Redistribution: In non-powered mode, 9 interconnected foam filled cells allow air to move freely between them via the user’s body movements. An integrated memory foam overlay improves immersion, envelopment and comfort.
- The Hybrid Mattress system provides the ability to easily step-up or step-down the level of support by connecting the pump, converting the hybrid support surface from a static to an alternating pressure care mattress with minimal delay and rapid intervention
Reduced pain, cost and increased support needs associated with incurring a pressure injury:
- Pressure injuries require intervention of a multidisciplinary team (including medical, nursing, dietetics and AHP professionals) to ensure healing
- Healing requires the injured area to be offloaded and, depending on the level of pressure injury, this could take weeks or months for healing to occur. During this time the client and/or carer is likely to require increased assistance with support needs such as personal care, domestic and shopping assistance and meal preparation
Improved comfort:
- Immersive Visco-elastic Memory Foam Surface: Top layer is now twice as thick to offer significant improvement in user immersion, envelopment and comfort
- Self-Adjusting Pressure Redistribution: In non-powered mode, 9 interconnected foam filled cells allow air to move freely between them via the user’s body movements. An integrated memory foam overlay improves immersion, envelopment and comfort.
- Innovative pump technology: Reduces noise and vibration for undisrupted sleep.
Improved bed mobility:
- Firm foam bed edges improve safety and independence with bed transfers
