Nu-Calgon Oxidice Ice Machine
Product Information
The product is an ice machine that is designed to produce ice in a variety of
environments. It has a service run time indicator that notifies the user when
service is required after 9,000 hours of runtime. The power light indicates
the operational status of the
machine. The product also features a diffuser that releases ozone during an
ozone cycle. It is important to note that biofilm buildup may occur in the ice
machine, and the product offers steps to address this issue. Additionally,
there are different light colors
and number of blinks that indicate specific conditions or errors. The ice
yield of the machine varies depending on the environment and air flow.
Product Usage Instructions
Troubleshooting Guide
If the power light does not illuminate, first check if the control board is securely seated. If the connection is loose, disconnect the wires fully and reseat the connection. Also, confirm that power is available if no lights are present.
If there are no bubbles coming from the diffuser, wait for 10 minutes for the next ozone cycle.
If there is a strong ozone smell around the ice machine, try the suggested step to address it.
If biofilm builds up quickly in the ice machine, follow the provided step to tackle this issue.
Light Color and Number of Blinks
The light color and number of blinks indicate specific conditions or errors. Refer to the following table:
Light Color | Number of Blinks |
---|---|
OFF | 1 |
YELLOW | 2 |
GREEN | 3 |
BLUE | 4 |
PURPLE | 24 HOUR ICE YIELD, NORMAL ENVIRONMENT |
RED | 24 HOUR ICE YIELD, EXTREME ENVIRONMENT* |
Abnormal Noises from Compressor
If the compressor sounds abnormal or becomes louder than normal, follow the suggested steps to address the issue. Also, confirm that power is available if no lights are present.
Recommended Products
Consider using the following products in conjunction with the ice machine:
- Nickel-Safe Ice Machine Cleaner
- Liquid Ice Machine Cleaner
- IMS-III Sanitizing Concentrate
Service Run Time Indicator
Solid red light means service is required
When the unit has reached approximately 9,000 hours of runtime, a solid RED
service light should appear and remain on until service has been performed.
- Service light appears at 9,000 hours
- Service light will not stop ozone production
- Service light must be manually reset by user
NOTE: Service will be required at 9,000 hours of runtime
Power Light Does Not Illuminate
If power indicator light does not illuminate on right side of unit, try these steps:
- Verify the unit has power
- Press the Mode Select button to see if the unit will cycle through different modes
- Unplug the unit, remove cover and confirm that the main power wires at the control board are seated securely. If the connection is loose, disconnect the wires fully and reseat the connection.
NOTE: Confirm power if no lights are present
No Bubbles from Diffuser
If bubbles do not come out of diffuser, try these steps:
- Make sure that the indicator LED is blinking. If the light is “ON,” but not blinking, the unit is in standby. Wait for 10 minutes for another ozone cycle to occur.
- Clean the diffuser (see servicing for details)
- Confirm compressor is energized during an ozone cycle
- Check all tubing and fitting connections for possible leaks
- Confirm wired connection between compressor and control board is seated correctly
NOTE: If no bubbles, wait 10 minutes for next ozone cycle
Ozone Smell Around Ice Machine
If there is a strong ozone smell present around the ice machine, try this step:
Adjust the run time setting down by pressing the Mode Select button repeatedly, cycling through each of the modes.
Biofilm Buildup in Ice Machine
If biofilm builds up quickly in the ice machine, try this step:
Adjust the run time setting up by pressing the Mode Select button repeatedly, cycling through each of the modes.
TBLE
NOTE:
Adjust to lower run time if ozone is present around ice machine Adjust to
higher run time if biofilm is building up in ice machine
Abnormal Noises from Compressor
If the compressor sounds abnormal or becomes louder than normal, try these steps:
- Remove the cover and confirm the compressor’s mounting hardware is tight and secure
- Ensure nothing is resting again the compressor that increases the noise
- Make sure the diaphragms on both sides of the compressor are not worn or torn
NOTE: Confirm power if no lights are present
