The Compact DIN-Rail or surface mount fiber optic patch panel is designed to be installed in control cabinetry, offering a compact size that minimizes space requirements. It includes splice trays for fusion splicing of field cabling (pigtails sold separately). The patch panel features a sliding faceplate with a capture mechanism, allowing it to be kept open hands-free.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the Compact DIN-Rail or surface mount fiber optic patch panel, follow these steps:

1. Select the appropriate product variant based on your external and internal interface requirements, as well as the type of fiber optic cable (single mode or multimode) you will be using.
2. If custom fiber optic adapter variations are needed, contact us to place a special order.
3. Install the patch panel in your control cabinetry using one of the mounting options: rear DIN-Rail, side DIN-Rail, or surface mount.
4. If fusion splicing is required, ensure you have the necessary field cabling and pigtails (sold separately). Use the provided splice trays for fusion splicing.
5. To access the patch panel, slide the faceplate open using the capture mechanism. This allows you to keep the patch panel open hands-free.
6. Connect your fiber optic cables to the appropriate connectors on the patch panel, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
7. If needed, use the cable glands to manage and secure the cables. The cable glands have a maximum diameter of 12mm (14mm max. also available).
