Quick Start Guide
Battery and SD Card Installation
- Open the door by unlatching the side closure.
- Locate the battery unlock lever on the underside of the camera body and press toward the front of the camera body to release the battery tray. (If the tray does not immediately spring open, press in on the tray as sliding battery unlock lever upward.)
- Remove the battery tray and insert 8 AA batteries (provided) with positive ends pointing as shown on the inside of the tray and negative ends pointing as shown on the inside of the tray.
- Reinsert the filled battery tray into the camera body pressing firmly until unlock lever clicks into place.
- Insert up to 32 GB SD Card (provided) label face up into SD Card Slot located under the display screen.
treelineTM Tip: Be sure to format any SD cards used in other cameras
prior to use in your treelineTM camera. Cards can be formatted using a
computer or see page XX for formatting instructions using your treelineTM
camera.
Powering On
- To power on, press and release the power button located in the upper right corner of the control face of the camera body.
- Check the battery level percentage indicator on the display screen to ensure installed batteries have the proper charge level. If so, you are ready to proceed to use.
- To Power, the camera off, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
Ready Mode
- After 25 seconds with no buttons being pushed, the LED-backlit display dims, and after 30 seconds the LED display will power down and the camera will automatically enter ready mode and will be ready to take images or videos.
- To wake the camera, briefly press any of the 4 directional arrows, power, or OK button.
treelineTM Tip: the LCD display will not wake up immediately if the
camera is actively writing an image or video to memory.
Home Screen
When powered on or woken up your camera will open to the home screen which
will display the key things you will want to know when checking or setting up
your camera for use.
Pictures: Number of images/videos currently stored on the SD Card.
Available: Total number of image spaces remaining on the SD card.
Battery: Indicates the percentage of battery life available.
Time/Date: Time is displayed in 12 hr. format with AM/PM display. Date in
Day/Month format
Setting Date and Time
- While on the Home screen, press the OK button to enter the date/time adjustment screen.
- Once in the date/time adjustment screen, use the up/down arrows to change the flashing date selection being set.
- After the flashing date selection is correct, use the right/left arrows to navigate through the date/time functions including day, month, year, hour, minute, and AM/PM. You do not need to use the up/down arrow to change from setting day to setting time. Continue using the left/right arrows to navigate through all date/time options.
- Once all date/time settings are correct press the ok button to return to the home screen.
Setting Camera Functions
Each camera function is located on secondary screens that can be navigated to
from the home screen by using the left/right arrows. There are two functions
located on each screen. While the function you wish to adjust is displayed on
the screen, press the OK button and display arrows will appear on both sides
of the function on the top of the display. If the function you wish to set is
on the lower half of the screen use the up/down arrows to change between
functions. When the arrows are displayed on both side of your desired
function, use the left/right arrow to change the function setting. Once the
setting is set to your desired setting, press OK to allow you to navigate to
other function screens using the left/right arrows.
Mode (Picture or Video)
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until the mode is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button and arrows will appear you can now use the left/right arrow to change between still and video mode.
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
PIR Sensitivity (Sensitivity of sensors)

From the home screen, press the right arrow until SENSE is displayed on the screen.

Press the OK button and arrows will appear on the screen then press up/down arrow until display
arrows are beside the SENSE options. -
Use the right/left arrow to select between high/medium/low PIR sensitivity settings.

Press OK to save your desired setting.
TreelineTM Tip: SENSE level guidelines:
– HI: Sensitive to small movements (ex. wispy grass in frame background)
– MED: Detects standard movement. (Default)
– LOW: Detects only large movement
Active (when pictures/videos will be taken)
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until ACTIVE is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, arrows will appear on the screen, then press the up/down arrow until display arrows are beside Active options.
- Use right/left arrows to select between Day, Night, and 24hr (default).
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
Delay (time between images/videos)
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until DELAY is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, arrows will appear on the screen, then press the up/down arrow until display arrows are beside the Delay options.
- Use right/left arrows to select between 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60-second Delay.
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
Resolution
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until the Resolution is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, arrows will appear on the screen, then press the up/down arrow until the display arrows are beside the Resolution options.
- Use right/left arrows to select between High, Med, and Low Resolution.
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
Video Length
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until VIDEO LENTH is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, arrows will appear on the screen, then press the up/down arrow until display arrows are beside Video Length options.
- Use right/left arrows to select between 5, 10, 20, 30, or 60-second videos.
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
Language
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until LANGUAGE is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, arrows will appear on the screen, then press the up/down arrow until display arrows are beside Language options.
- Use right/left arrows to select between English, Spanish, French, and Dutch language options.
- Press OK to save your desired setting.
Name
TreelineTM Tip: The camera name is optional and will appear on the images once
retrieved to give you a reference of the camera location.
- From the home screen, press the right arrow until NAME is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, and arrows will appear on the screen next to Language. Press the down arrow once and the first character of the camera name will begin flashing.
- Use up/down arrows to select from the alpha/numeric character options. Once you have selected the correct character, use the right/left arrows to navigate to the next space to continue naming your camera. Continue repeating this step until the name is complete. (Max 12 characters)
- Press OK to save your desired setting and navigate back to home using right/left arrows.
Factory Reset
TreelineTM Tip: Resetting your camera to factory settings will return all
settings to factory defaults and clear time/date settings. This will not clear
images/videos from the external SD Card memory.
- From the home screen, press the right/left arrow until UI RESET is displayed on the screen
- Press the OK button and display arrows will appear next to “No”. Use the right/left arrow to select “yes”.
- A confirmation screen will appear. Again, use the right/left arrow to confirm reset by selecting “yes”.
- If you do not wish to reset, select “No” and return to the home screen using the right/left arrows.
Format SD Card
TreelineTM Tip: Formatting the SD card is recommended before the use of any
card previously used in other cameras or devices. This will remove all
images/videos and folders on the SD Card. Be sure you have any important
information saved on a computer or hard drive before formatting.
- From the home screen, press the right/left arrow until Format SD Card is displayed on the screen.
- Press the OK button, and arrows will appear on the screen next to UI RESET options. Press the down arrow once and display arrows will appear next to Format SD Option “No”.
- Use the right/left arrow to select “yes”.
- A confirmation screen will appear. Use the right/left arrow to confirm formatting by selecting “yes”.
- If you do not wish to reset, select “No” and return to the home screen using the right/left arrows.
- Once formatting is complete, use right/left arrows to navigate to the home screen. Pictures will now show as “0”.
Mounting
- Remove the tree mounting strap from the packaging and remove the tag end from the buckle.
- Thread tag end through back slots of camera body before attaching to tree or post.
- Wrap the strap around the post and thread through the buckle and pull tightly but be careful to not over-tighten and break the buckle.
- Make sure any loose end of the strap is tucked away so it does not blow in front of the sensor causing false triggers.
Mounting Tips:
- Recommended 25′-30′ mounting distance from target are for best image quality.
- For improved image clarity, if possible, avoid mounting facing towards rising or setting sun to reduce direct sunlight on the lens.
Retrieving images
To view images, first power down the camera before removing the SD card. Once
camera is powered down, press the SD card into the camera to release it from
the camera and the SD card will eject.
Next, insert the SD card into the computer or external SD card viewing device.
If your device automatically launches a viewing program or the device
recognizes the external device a, follow the device recommendations to view
and sort images. If the program does not launch automatically you will need to
open the “Start Menu” at the bottom of the screen and select the computer.
Locate the removable device in the left-hand navigation. This will direct you
towards the SD Card folder, typically named “DCIM”. Select this folder and
then the subfolder “100Media”. The photos will be sorted in order and will
each start with the prefix “TSC_” followed by the number of the image that
will also be on the image stamp.
