InvisaTread Detailed Application Instructions for Tile
Tools Required:
A. Trigger Sprayer, Microfiber Spreader or Garden style Pump Sprayer
a. (Pump sprayer recommended for larger areas)
B. Two, 5 gallon pails/buckets clean
C. Sponge Mop or Wet-Dry Vacuum/Extraction Tool (recommended)
D. Deck Brush (for pre-application cleaning, if needed)
*PRE-APPLICATION TESTING
** Utilize steps 1 4 below on a small hidden area, or extra tile to
determine dwell time for your particular surface and desired traction. In
general, longer dwell time equals higher traction. Start with 6 minutes of
dwell and work up to no more than 16 minutes. Occasionally, 2 applications are
needed to increase traction to desired levels, rinse/extract 1st application &
repeat steps 2-4.
Pre-application set-up
- In 1st 5 gallon bucket, mix 6 oz. Traction Wash per gallon of water, a 1:20 dilution. Use a higher concentration (up to 12 oz/gal) if very dirty or greasy. Set aside remaining solution for RINSE step.
- Fill sprayer (or 2nd bucket, if spreading instead of spraying) with 1 gallon of InvisaTread per 400 sqft. Do not dilute InvisaTread. Do not mix chemicals.
Application Process
Step 1 CLEAN. Clean the floor very well with the Traction Wash solution. If necessary, use the deck brush to scrub the tile & grout for very dirty floors. Rinse the floor with clean water and dry. Use a wet dry vacuum or extraction tool, if available. It is ok to leave the grout joints wet or damp.
Step 2: APPLY. Spray or spread the InvisaTread onto the area to be treated. Use a liberal amount of product. Coverage should be about 400 sq. ft per gallon.
Step 3: DWELL. Allow InvisaTread to dwell for 6 16 min (exact time shall be determined by your pre-application testing). Keep surface saturated with product during the entire dwell time. DO NOT allow to dry out, puddle or run off. Apply more InvisaTread, as needed.
Step 4: RINSE. After dwell time has elapsed pour 1:20 Traction Wash dilution onto the tile and scrub grout joints with brush to break up residue. Extract surface. Rinse a 2nd time with clean water and then extract surface. Surface is ready for immediate use.
Test traction by wetting the surface with clean water and trying to
slide foot. If more traction is desired, do a 2nd application, repeat steps 2
– 4.
Clean regularly with Traction WashTM @ 1:32 dilution, to maintain your
enhanced Coefficient Of Friction (COF).
Troubleshooting – if necessary
After grout has completely dried out you might notice some white residue form
in a few spots over the next few days. This is simply a salt residue left over
after application; it is not harmful and will be removed with regular cleaning
over the next few days. To remove right away, scrub with 1:4 dilution of
vinegar to water, or 1:32 dilution of TractionWash to water. NOTE: This does
not occur on every application or every type of grout.

The Embedded Etch process is specifically designed to improve the slip resistance of polished concrete. The process is embedded in the polishing process and typically built on floors of greater than 400 grit resin.
Installation steps:
Build polished concrete floor to the 200 grit resin and stop.
Step 1: Vacuum/scrub floor to remove all excess dust
Step 2: Pour InvisaTread into a Hudson/pump sprayer. (It is important to
build a mixing station with plastic or cardboard on the floor. DO NOT set the
bottle down directly on the floor as it can leave an “etch” ring on the floor
that would have be ground out)
Step 3: Spray InvisaTread to the concrete floor at a rate of 400 sq. ft.
per gallon. DO NOT walk in the wet surface or you can etch a foot print into
the floor.
After about 5 minutes you will see the floor develop a white milky residue form. This is a mixture of the chemical and free calcium developing. This residue is pH neutral and will have a soapy feel to it. When the residue is fully formed, the treatment is finished.
Step 4: Scrub and rinse the surface clean of the residue. It will be
necessary to scrub the surface a few times. It is recommended that the floor
fully dry to confirm that you do not have more residue to scrub.
If floor is to be dyed
Step 5: Spray dye/acetone mix per spec and dye floor as normal.
For dyed / not dyed floors
Step 6: Apply densifier per spec
Step 7: Continue polishing steps with 400 grit and 800 grit resins. Floor
should look identical to the adjacent non-etched floor.

InvisaTread Post Application Maintenance
Dear Recent InvisaTread Client:
Congratulations on choosing to have InvisaTread® applied to your floors to
increase its slip resistance. You are now walking on a surface that has enough
slip resistance to be considered “high traction.”
How do you maintain your enhanced Coefficient of Friction (COF) surface?
Cleaning is paramount to maintaining high COF. The cleaner the surface, the
more traction it will have. We recommend using TractionWashTM and the
following cleaning protocol in order to maintain the highest COF.
Use
TractionWashTM at the following dilution, for:* Daily cleaning and maintenance
a 1:32 dilution [4 oz. per gallon of water] Heavier dirt or grease a 1:20
dilution [6 oz. per gallon of water] Very dirty or greasy surfaces, a 1:10
dilution [12 oz. per gallon of water]
Assuming utilizing a standard mop and pail method with a standard 3 gallon mop bucket and changing pail water every 500 sq. ft.; 1 gallon @ 1:32 should clean approximately 5000 sq. ft. of surface area.
For more efficient and robust cleaning; we recommend the use of a Kaivac Omni-
Flex 70 machine or other wet / dry extraction tool. Please contact us for
pricing and to learn more about this system. Extraction is the most efficient
way to maintain a surface for optimum COF regardless of treatment with
InvisaTread
*Introduction of residue or foreign contaminants will reduce COF overtime. Always clean up spills immediately and put up OSHA signs per regular protocols. With proper care and maintenance, you will experience high COF for many years to come.
Grout Troubleshooting – if necessary
(This does not occur on every application or every type of grout.)
For the next few days following the InvisaTread® application, you might see a
few areas of white residue coming from the grout joints or on the tile
surface. This is nothing to be alarmed about, it is simply a little bit of the
residual glycolic acid coming out of the grout joint mixed with some calcium.
This salt residue is completely harmless to you and the surface. Simply wash
it away with warm water and 1:32 dilution of Traction WashTM. It will be
completely gone after a few washings. For faster removal, extract the surface.
If you get some heavier deposits that you are having trouble removing; simply scrub with 1:4 dilution of vinegar to water, rinse, and then extract.
