IMPORTANT NOTES

DANGER
Please read these operating instructions carefully before first use. You will become familiar with your bicycle helmet more quickly this way and can avoid wrong operation that may lead to damage or injury. In particular observe the notes on safety and danger.

These operating instructions contain function descriptions that apply to different models and equipment versions. Not all components or features described are available on your model. No legal claim to such parts or features results from this.

MARKING OF IMPORTANT NOTES

Particularly important notes are marked as follows in these operating instructions:

DANGER
This warning note informs you of possible dangers not only to your own health and life but also to that of other persons that may result from using the bicycle helmet.

CAUTION
This warning note provides you with important details on the proper handling of your bicycle helmet.

  • DANGER
This helmet is intended only for use with bicycles, skateboards and roller skates, and not for: mopeds, scooters and motorcycles.

  • CAUTION
Always ensure that children take off their helmets before entering children’s playgrounds. This helmet should not be worn when climbing or during other activities with a risk of strangulation or catching.

  • Helmet with remote control:
Control of the turn do not replace a manual hand signal!

  • This bicycle helmet meets high safety demands.
However, it cannot prevent all types of injury.

  • The helmet has been tested and approved in accordance with the following safety standard (among others): EN 1078 Helmets for pedal cyclists and for users of skateboards and roller skates

COMPONENT DESIGNATION

For better understanding, we would like to inform you on the parts of the bicycle helmet in advance.

THE PARTS

ADJUSTING THE HELMET

CAUTION
Optimal protection can only be achieved by an optimal fit.
If the helmet does not adjust optimally to your head shape, please choose a different size or a different model.

PUTTING ON THE HELMET

The helmet should enclose the head well and should be worn horizontally. It must not be put on the back of the head, but also should not be pulled too far over the forehead. It should not be shifted to the left or right.

It is important that the edge of the helmet is about two fingers’ width above the bridge of the nose.

ADJUSTMENT OF THE HEAD RING (DEPENDING ON MODEL)

Check for tight fit by slightly shaking your head with the chin strap open. If the helmet shifts slightly, the adjustment ring (1) must be tightened.

This is done by using the dial switch (2). Turning to the right reduces the strap circumference and turning to the left increases it.

ADJUSTMENT OF THE STRAPS (DEPENDING ON MODEL)

CAUTION
In case of a fall, the helmet will optimally protect your head only if the straps are set correctly and closed tightly.
Note that the straps must not cover your ears and that the closure of the chin strap must not rest on your chin.
One strap must run in front of (and the other behind) the ear.

  1. The front straps should be vertical, and the rear straps should be at an angle to the ear. Both straps make a triangle around the ear on both sides.

  2. To tighten or loosen the straps, open the strap dividers and slide them up or down. Then fix the strap dividers again.

  3. If necessary, the horizontal position of the straps can be adjusted. To do this, part of the strap must be pulled through the entire support system. The protruding part must then be pulled out at the chin strap closure.

  4. The chin strap closure must then be closed. This should be located centrally under your chin. Tighten the chin strap by pulling the two strap ends A + B. You should leave a finger space width, to be able to get enough air. To open the chin strap, press both sides of the closure with one hand at the same time.
Check the adjustment periodically, to ensure that the straps have not loosened and the helmet is in the best position.

BELT WITH MAGNETIC CLOSURE (FIDLOCK)

The magnetic closure of the belt is closed (LOCKED) or released (UNLOCKED) as follows:

MAINTENANCE | CARE

  • DANGER
The helmet should be inspected for visible damage at regular intervals.

  • After a serious fall, the helmet must be replaced even if no damage can be found.

  • CAUTION
Bicycle helmets should be replaced by new ones after 5-6 years, since material fatigue will prevent optimal protection.

  • Ride only with the strap closed.

  • The ear-pieces of glasses should be above the straps at all times – in case of a fall, the glasses can then fall away thereby avoiding any injuries to the eyes.

  • The helmet must not be painted on or glued over. The paint or adhesive may contain components that reduce the helmet’s stability and thus its protective effect.

  • No changes must be made to the helmet.
Original spare parts must be used for repair.

  • The helmet should not be exposed to temperatures above 60 °C, since this may cause it to lose its protective properties. Please do not keep the helmet near radiators or in the sun behind glass, e.g. in the car.

  • The helmet shell, the removable pads and the adjustment ring as well as the straps can be cleaned with lukewarm water and a mild soapy solution. The pads and adjusting ring can be removed from the helmet for this. The inside of the helmet should then be positioned with care and the fit and proper seat of the helmet should be checked. Do not use any solvents, such as diluent or similar, for cleaning.
