Daily Maintenance

Hearing aid is a kind of delicate and sensitive electronic equipment. So it is important to keep clean and dry. Please use soft dry cloth or cotton paper to clean the dust and water off the hearing aid body. If your hearing aid is often used in wet environments or contacted with sweat, please do not wear it at night and leave the battery door open. Then put the hearing aid along with ear mold or domes into the a dry box. Please read the instructions on how to use the drying agent on the drying box. Always remove Zinc-Air batteries before drying your hearing instrument with the help of a drying kit. Please pay attention to the following points for better maintain the hearing aid. Please do not expose the hearing aid in sunshine, get close to a stove or other heat sources. Please do not use the hearing aid when taking a shower, swimming, in rainy or other wet environments(such as sauna, vapour bath, etc.) Please protect your hearing aid carefully and avoid dropping it on the floor or other hard surfaces.  Please get rid of contact with chemicals or powerful cleaning agents. Please do not put the hearing aid near devices at strong electromagnetic field, such asmicrowave ovens, telephones, etc. Please do not enter a X ray room, CT scan room, MRI scanning room, etc., with the hearing aid on.

Medical Rehabilitation Suggestions

Rehabilitation Principle The wear period should be step by step, and it is better in the quiet environment in the beginning, and keep in peace and patient. Personal Plan: The first week: Use the hearing aid at home for 1 ~4 hours daily, try your best to be familiar with and differentiate all kinds of sound. Please exercise and get used to different sounds. The second week: You can walk outside, use the hearing aid in a relatively quiet environment for 4 hours daily. You can feel the different sounds, like bird singing, wind, etc. The third week: Try to go to the public places and streets without so many cars, and try to talk with unfamiliar person. Do not worry if you can not hear clearly in the beginning. Do not increase the volume to hear more clearly in public places, and it is important to exercise and get used to the hearing aid. The fourth week: After previous exercises, please be assured to use the hearing aid. If you want to answer phones with hearing aid, more exercises are needed.

Safety Guidelines

Never allow others to wear your hearing instruments, because they are adjusted for your hearing requirements and may permanently damage another person’s hearing. A slap to your ear while wearing the instrument could be harmful. Avoid wearing your hearing instrument while playing contact sports(e.g rugby, football etc.) Hearing instruments, their parts should be kept out of reach of anyone who might swallow these items or otherwise it can cause injuries. In case a battery or hearing instrument is swallowed, see a doctor immediately. Please do not go to places where coal gas and X ray exists or enter a nuclear magnetic resonance therapy room. Please switch off the hearing aid in mining area or explosive zone. An you shall use the hearing aid after confirming the environment is harmless. Clean your hearing instruments and their parts on a regular basis only with products that are recommended by your hearing care professional. Microorganisms from unclean instruments may cause skin irritations. Discard batteries out of reach of infants, small children, pets or persons with mental incapacity.

If you still can’t solve the problem, please inquire an audiologist or sales agent. Hearing aid which is broken down should be repaired by professionals. Please do not disassemble and handle it by yourself. Otherwise the hearing aid will not be guaranteed. If problems occur, please contact with your audiologist or sales agent. Regular maintenance by your audiologist can decrease the possibility of breaking down. For the BTE hearing aids which maximum outputs exceed 132 B SPL, high volume output may cause damage to your residual hearing. So please use the hearing aid cautiously under your audiologist’s suggestions or adjust the volume.

If your hearing aid breaks down, please refer to the “Troubleshooting Guide” in this manual to solve the problems.
