Description: A twist on traditional transit. The Axis can take simultaneous measurements of strike & dip, trend & plunge, dip & dip direction, or bearing & angle, making data collection faster and easier than ever.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. To use the Axis Transit E, start by ensuring that the device is closed and secured.
  2. To measure strike & dip, hold the transit steady and align the compass needle with the north direction. Then, rotate the device until the clinometer indicates the desired dip angle.
  3. To measure trend & plunge, hold the transit steady and align the compass needle with the north direction. Then, rotate the device until the clinometer indicates the desired plunge angle.
  4. To measure dip & dip direction, hold the transit steady and align the compass needle with the north direction. Then, rotate the device until the clinometer indicates the desired dip angle. Use the adjustable ring to set the dip direction.
  5. To measure bearing & angle, hold the transit steady and align the compass needle with the north direction. Then, rotate the device until the clinometer indicates the desired angle.
  6. After taking measurements, make sure to lock the needle in place to prevent any accidental changes.
  7. The Axis Transit E is compatible with tripods and monopods/Jacob’s Staff. Use the built-in slots for Brunton ball and socket transit mount to attach the device securely.
