APPLE Macbook 13 Inch Mid 2006 Mid 2008 Memory Installation Guide
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- CLEAR WORKSPACE
- NEW MEMORY MODULE(S)
- COIN
- SCREWDRIVER
TO PREVENT ANY POTENTIAL DAMAGE FROM ANTI STATIC ELECTRICITY, YOU SHOULD
DISCHARGE
YOURSELF FIRST. THIS CAN BE DONE BY TOUCHING A GROUNDED METAL OBJECT – SUCH
AS A RADIATOR.
STEP 1 : Make sure the Mac book is powered off and all cables have been
disconnected
STEP 2 : Turn your MacBook over and remove the Battery – using the coin
in the Battery locking screw, rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
STEP 3 : To remove the Memory Cover, unscrew the 3 screws from the back
wall of the Battery compartment.
STEP 4 : Slide the Memory Cover to the right and lift out of the
MacBook.
STEP 5 : To remove any existing RAM, pull back the metal lever to slide
the RAM module out.
STEP 6 : To install the new RAM, push the module firmly and evenly into
the slot. There is a diagram on the MacBook itself as to where the notches
should be. Do not worry which way the stickers on the module face, as they
differ. There will be an audible click when the module is seated correctly.
STEP 7 : Put the MacBook back together again in the reverse order that you took it apart. Turn the laptop back on. (Ideally the MacBook should be fully charged or plugged into the mains). Everything should be running smoothly and quicker than before.
