RELEASE INSTRUCTIONS

HYPO-5L Hypoaspis Miles Predatory Mite

Hypoaspis miles
Predatory Mite

  • Please release these mites at sundown within 1 week of arrival.

  • Water the soil at least 2 hours before releasing the mites.

  • Gently rotate the canister to distribute the mites evenly within the canister.
Next, open the container in the plant area, and gently tap the mites out of the container onto the slightly damp growing area.

  • Release onto dirt, gravel, greenhouse weeds, under benches and ground covers and any place Fungus gnat larvae and pupae or Th rips’ pupae and pre-pupae may develop.

  • Release the bulk of the mites at the most active breeding areas.

  •  Leave the cannister at site of release for 24 hours to ensure all mites have been released, unless it is a small area being treated.

  • Then you can store the remaining mites for the next release.

Storage: These predators should be applied as soon as received. Do not refrigerate. If necessary, containers can be held, stored on their side out of direct sunlight, at 16 to 21°C (60 to 70°F) for up to 7 days.
Strategic Considerations: Do not mix predators into the growth media before potting because they do not survive. Apply Hypoaspis shortly after planting and before Fungus Gnat levels reach more than 20 adults/trap/week. In general, do not apply Hypoaspis to soil that has been treated with lime or pesticides (particularly soil treat with diazinon).
