appliance to someone else, give the user manual as well. Follow the
instructions by paying attention to all the information and warnings in the

Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart or rack is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tipover.

Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the unit has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. -
This equipment is a Class II or double insulated electrical appliance. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to electrical earth.

The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing. No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.

Minimum distance around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation is 5cm.

The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table -cloths, curtains, etc…

No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.

Batteries should be recycled or disposed of as per state and local guidelines.

The use of apparatus in moderate or tropical climates.
Caution
- Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those described herein, may result in hazardous radiation exposure or other unsafe operation.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on apparatus.
- The mains plug/ appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device must remain readily operable.
- Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Warning
- The battery (batteries or battery pack) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
- Before operating this system, check the voltage of this system to see if it is identical to the voltage of your local power supply.
- Do not place this unit close to strong magnetic fields.
- Do not place this unit on the amplifier or receiver.
- Do not place this unit close to damp areas as the moisture will affect the life of the laser head.
- If any solid object or liquid falls into the system, unplug the system and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
- Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this may damage the finish. Use a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.
- When removing the power plug from the wall outlet, always pull directly on the plug, never yank on the cord..
- Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance will void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
- The rating label is pasted on the bottom or back of the equipment.
Battery usage CAUTION
To prevent battery leakage which may result in bodily injury, property damage, or damage to the apparatus:
- Install all batteries correctly, + and – as marked on the apparatus.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (Carbon-Zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni- MH, etc.) batteries.
- Remove batteries when the unit is not used for a long time.

PREPARATIONS
Prepare the Remote Control
- The provided Remote Control allows the unit to be operated from a distance.
- Even if the Remote Control is operated within the effective range (8 m), remote control operation may be impossible if there are any obstacles between the unit and the remote control.
- If the Remote Control is operated near other products which generate infrared rays, or if other remote control devices using infra-red rays are used near the unit, it may operate incorrectly. Conversely, the other products may operate incorrectly.
Precautions Concerning Batteries

Be sure to insert the batteries with correct positive
-
“ ” and negative “ ” polarities.
-
Use batteries of the same type.
Never use different types of batteries together. -
Either rechargeable or nonrechargeable batteries can be used. Refer to the precautions on their labels.

Be aware of your fingernails when removing the battery cover and the battery.
-
Do not drop the remote control.
-
Do not allow anything to impact the remote control.
-
Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.
-
Do not place the remote control on a wet object.
-
Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.
-
Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period of time, as corrosion or battery leakage may occur and result in physical injury, and/or property damage, and/or fire.

Do not use any batteries other than those specified.
-
Do not mix new batteries with old ones.
-
Never recharge a battery unless it is confirmed to be a rechargeable type.
PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING
Normal Placement (place Soundbar on leveled surface in front of TV)
Wall Mounting (option-B)
Note :
- Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel only. Incorrect assembly can result in severe personal injury and property damage (if you intend to install this product yourself, you must check for installations such as electrical wiring and plumbing that may be buried inside the wall). It is the installer’s responsibility to verify that the wall will safely support the total load of the unit and wall brackets.
- Additional tools (not included) are required for the installation.
- Do not overtighten screws.
- Keep this instruction manual for future reference.
- Use an electronic stud finder to check the wall type before drilling and mounting.
CONNECTIONS
Optical input
- Use the optical cable to connect the optical input of this sound bar to the optical output of VCD, CD, VCR, DVD player or TV.
- Press“ „button on the remote control to switch to the Optical input mode, the word “OPt” will be shown on the display screen means to select the Optical mode.
The external device audio output must be set to PCM or Dolby Digital.
Line in
This sound bar has an extra groups of audio input terminals. You can input the
analogue stereo audio signals from extra devices such as VCD, CD, VCR, DVD
player, etc.
Use the audio cable to connect the stereo audio output terminals of a VCD, CD,
VCR,DVD player to the stereo input terminals LINE IN of this sound bar. Its
corresponding signal source is LINE will be shown on the display screen which
can be available by pressing “ „ button on the remote control.
ARC (Audio return channel)
ARC is audio return channel function, it is used in digital audio output of
liquidcrystal display television in order to get the optimal synchronous sound
quality.
Use the HDMI cable to connect the HDMI-ARC input port of this sound bar to the ARC output port of the liquidcrystal display television. Press “ „ button repeatedly on the remote control to select ARC mode.
Your TV digital sound output S/PDIF mode setting must be PCM or Dolby Digital.
Bluetooth
Press “STANDBY„ button on the remote control to power on the sound bar, then
press “ „ button on the remote control to switch the Bluetooth mode, the word
“no bt” will be shown on the display screen, the sound bar is in searching
Bluetooth signal status, use your smart phone to search the Bluetooth signal
of the sound bar, select Grundig DSB 995 on your list, input the password 0000
if need the password prompt, the sound bar will synchronize to play songs on
your mobile phone while the word “bt” is shown on the display screen and a
beep will be heard means to be connected successfully. Disconnected the
Bluetooth on the smart phone to switched off the Bluetooth connection.
- Bluetooth connection range in 10 meters.
- The model Grundig DSB 995 in your device was not deleted.
- In Bluetooth mode, [PLAY/ PAUSE], [NEXT], [PREVIOUS], [VOLUME+/-] etc. are also active.
Subwoofer connection
Make sure the AC power cord for the subwoofer is connected to a power supply securely. Power on the sound bar, press and hold “ „ button for 5 seconds, the subwoofer can receive the wireless audio signal from the sound bar. when the red indicator flashing on the subwoofer, the subwoofer is in searching wireless signal status, the blue indicator keeps lighting on the subwoofer means the sound bar and subwoofer was connected. Press and hold “PAIR„ button on the Subwoofer or press and hold “ „ button for 5 seconds to disconnect with the sound bar and the red indicator on the subwoofer flashing when the subwoofer and sound bar was connected, press “PAIR„ button on the Subwoofer or press and hold “ „ button on the sound bar for 5 seconds again, the subwoofer will be reconnected with the sound bar.
USB

Insert USB storage drive into the USB slot on the rear panel.

Press “ „ button repeatedly on the remote control to select USB mode.
-
The sound bar will start playing the MP3 track automatically from the connected USB drive.
If play does not start automatically, press “ „ button. -
To skip to the previous/next track, press “ / „ buttons on the remote control.
There is no NTFS support in USB mode.
For using Dolby Audio
- Dolby Audio is available only in ARC /OPT mode. To use Dolby Audio in HDMI-ARC mode, your TV has to support Dolby Audio.
- Make sure that “No Encoding” is selected for bit stream in the audio output of the connected external device (e.g. Blu-ray DVD player, TV etc.).
- While entering Dolby Audio / PCM format, the soundbar will show Dolby by Audio / PCN Audio.
Tips:
- The Soundbar will still function when connected via other methods (such as a Digital Optical cable) but these are unable to support all of the Dolby features.
ARC Connection
- The ARC (Audio Return Channel) function allows you to send audio from your ARC- compliant TV to your sound bar through a single HDMI connection. To enjoy the ARC function, please ensure your TV is ARC compliant and set up accordingly. When correctly set up, you can use your TV remote control to adjust the volume output (VOL +/- and MUTE) of the sound bar.
- HDMI (ARC) socket to the HDMI (ARC) socket on your ARC compliant TV. Then press “ „ button on the remote control to select ARC.
Tips:
- Your TV must support the HDMI-CEC and ARC function. HDMI-CEC and ARC must be set to On.
- The setting method of HDMI-CEC and ARC may differ depending on the TV. For details about ARC function, please refer to the owner’s manual.
- Only HDMI 1.4 or higher version cable can support the ARC function.
- Your TV digital sound output S/PDIF mode setting must be PCM or Dolby Digital
- DSB 995 is not only receiving TVHDMI (CEC) standby notice, but also DSB 995 is checking TV power status. If TV is going to standby, DSB 995 may also enter standby. Whatever the CEC standby banner of TV-HDMI link is set to ON or OFF.
BASIC OPERATION
Operation
Standby Press to switch on the unit. Press it again to put the unit in
standby mode.
Mute Press to temporarily switch off the sound. Press it again to switch
it on.
Volume +/- Press [VOLUME+] to turn up the volume
Press [VOLUME-] to turn down the volume.
Play/pause Press to
temporarily pause a playback. Press it again to resume the playback.
Hold down this button for 3 seconds to disconnect Bluetooth.
Previous Press to return to the previous track.
Next Press to skip to the next track.
Bluetooth Press to enter the BT(Bluetooth) mode.
Source Press repeatedly to switch among in, BLUETOOTH, LINE IN, USB, OPTICAL
IN and ARC mode.
Movie Press to enter the Eq2 equalizer mode, Eq2 stands for MOVIE.
Music Press to enter the Eq1 equalizer mode, Eq1 stands for MUSIC.
News Press to enter the Eq3 equalizer mode, Eq3 stands for NEWS.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Before resorting to maintenance service, please kindly check by yourself with the following chart.

- Install two AAA/1.5V batteries in it.
- Replace the battery with new one.
- Make sure that the remote control is pointed to the remote control sensor.
- Make sure the remote control is within the operating area.
- Switch off the unit and disconnect it from the AC outlet. Then power on the unit again.
