CARE & WARRANTY

  • Once you have unboxed your Pixxie, please remove the protective plastic film covering the buttons and lens. Failure to remove the plastic may result in damage to your projector or its functionality.
  • WARNING -PLEASE DO NOT place any objects within 20cm of the projector bulb when in operation (this includes little hands or feet) doing so could cause the Pixxie to overheat and shut down.
  • Should this occur, you will need to allow the unit to cool down for up to 2 hours and then charge the device and restart. Any damage caused by misuse or poor care and maintenance is not covered under the warranty.
  • Pixxie, including all parts comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. Damage caused by water or impact are not covered under this warranty. Please see our website (https://www.pixxie.com/) for our full Terms and Conditions.

PANEL &APPS

  • Please charge your Pixxie for 10-12 hours before first use. A strong wi-fi connection is required to setup your device. Please keep in mind the apps will require a strong internet connection to work.
  • Your Pixxie buttons are displayed on Figure 1
  • Pixxie comes preloaded with popular apps such as Nedlix, Disney+, YouTube, Amazon Prime and Spotify.
  • To add apps to your Pixxie please login to the Google Play store and download your app. Please note only compatible apps will be available to download. If the app you are looking for does not work or is not available, then the operating systems will not be compatible with Pixxie.

REMOTE CONTROL

  • Remote Control Pairing Press and hold the Home and Ok buttons on the remote at the same time until the Pixxie and remote are successfully paired (connected). Please use brand new lithium batteries in the remote. The remote supports both infrared and Bluetooth. The air mouse function will only work when the remote is paired (connected) with the Pixxie via Bluetooth.
  • Manual Mouse Control To control the remote in mouse mode, press the Air Mouse button to turn it on and off and then use the remote to direct it.
  • Bluetooth Remote The Pixxie remote is Bluetooth which requires strong batteries. We recommend you use brand new lithium batteries in the remote control for best performance. Please refer to figure 2 for details on your remote buttons.PIXXIE 2A9WLS10 Mini Cinema Pocket Projector - fig 4

MANUAL

  • Setting Up Pixxie
    : Please connect to the Wi-Fi by selecting the settings menu on the Pixxie main menu Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
    You will need to login to your apps using your personal credentials. Please note the air mouse function is required to login to certain apps.

  • Battery Charging
    Connect the power adapter to the Pixxie, when the indicator light is red it signals your Pixxie needs charging. The red light will stay on while charging and turn blue when it is fully charged.

  • Power On
    Press and hold the power button on the top of the Pixxie (approximately 5-10 seconds) when the Pixxie is turn on, the red light on the back of the unit flash.

  • Power Off
    Press and hold the power button on the top of the Pixxie for 2-5 seconds to shut down the device or do the same with the remote. If you press and hold the power button for longer than 5 seconds your Pixxie will reboot.

  • Force Reboot
    Press and hold the power button on top of the projector for 10-20 seconds.

  • Focus Button
    If the video image is not clear, press the Focus button + and – on the remote to adjust the focus.

  • Wi-Fi Connection
    On the home screen, select Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi Choose the available W-Fi network, enter password, andconnect.

  • Hotspot
    Select Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi Choose the Wi-Fi hotspot available, enter and turn on the hotspot.
    Manual Screen Size Correction

  • Select Settings >Projector > Auto keystone Adjust OFF>Vertical Keystone / Four-point keystone On the remote, press the arrow direction keys to adjust the coordination of each point. Press OK to adjust the next angle point. Then press the Back button to go
    back to the home screen. Screen Mirroring Using EShare

  •  Screen Mirroring allows you to use your smartphone to control and mirror Pixxie, enabling you to project your applications.
    **Please note Eshare is a 3rd party application and is in no way owned or operated by Pixxie. The Eshare app is available on your Pixxie, but should this application not meet your needs you may download a compatible alternative mirroring application from the Google Play store.
    Copyrighted content from apps such as Netflix, Disney+, Stan etc. cannot be mirrored using Eshare. To watch this content please use the native apps preloaded on Pixxie or use a HDMI cord to watch it through another device.

Android devices

  1. Turn on Pixxie.

  2.  Make sure Pixxie and your device are on the same WIFI network.

  3. On your android device, download the EShare app from the Google play store.

  4. Open EShare by clicking on the app.

  5. On the bottom tab of the EShare app, click MIRRORING. Pixxie should now be projecting your android phone.

  6. To disconnect mirroring, go back to you phone home screen.
    Pull down or swipe from the top right to display control shortcut settings.

  7. Toggle EShare off .

Notes: If EShare stops projecting, pull down or swipe from the top of your device and toggle EShare back on.
If EShare is not showing in your status bar when you swiped down, go into your EShare settings and toggle on the display in the status bar. To go to your EShare settings, click SETTINGS > APPS > EShare > Notifications. From there you can toggle on or off the display in the status bar.

Apple devices
OPTION 1

  1. Turn on Pixxie.
  2. Make sure Pixxie and your device are on the same WIFI network.
  3. On your apple device, download EShare from the App Store.
  4. Open the EShare app. Click on EShare-1270 to get connected.
  5. . Tap Share Screen, then tap Start Broadcast. You should now be connected.
  6. To disconnect EShare or mirroring your device, go back to the EShare app, then tap Stop sharing, then Stop broadcast.

OPTION 2

  1. Turn on Pixxie.
  2. Make sure Pixxie and your device are on the same network.
  3. On your apple device, download EShare from the App Store.
  4. On the home screen of your apple device, swipe down from the top right to open Control Center.
  5. Tap screen mirroring and click on EShare.
  6. To disconnect EShare or mirroring your device, go back to your home screen to open the Control Center as above. Tap Screen Mirroring and then tap STOP MIRRORING.

    Please select screen share on the EShare menu to use your device as a remote control.

Bluetooth Speakers

  1. Turn on your Bluetooth speaker/s.
  2. Put your speaker in pairing mode.
  3. On your Pixxie device, go to Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Available devices to pair a new device.
  4. If Pixxie does not show your speaker on connected devices, it may mean your speaker is not compatible or you have previously paired another speaker. In this case tap previously connected devices where you will see your device. Tap on the device to reconnect.
  5. Your content should now play using your connected Bluetooth speaker.

Apple TV Box
Pixxie is fully compatible with Apple TV 4K as well as some earlier Apple TV versions.

  1. Turn on Pixxie and the Apple TV box.
  2. Make sure the Apple TV and Pixxie are on the same WIFI network.
  3. Using a HDMI cable connect your Apple TV to Pixxie.
  4. You will see a dialog box asking you to switch to the HDMI signal detected. Press YES.
  5. Your Apple TV should now be projected to Pixxie. Use the Apple TV remote to navigate through your apps.
  6. To return to the Pixxie home screen, use the Pixxie remote and press the HOME or BACK button.

Apple MacBook Pro and MacBook Air Connection
Pixxie is compatible with MacBook Pro and MacBook Air using Apple Airplay mirroring.To connect your Apple laptop to Pixxie choose the appropriate cable: HDMI to USBC cable. Once your laptop is connected your laptop will show up as a second screen, simply click and drag the screen to the right or left until you see it on your Pixxie or alternatively to mirror your screen see below:

  1. On the Airplay dropdown menu of your laptop, choose EShare-1270.
  2. You should automatically be mirroring your laptop.
  3. To disconnect, go back to Airplay dropdown menu and press Turn Airplay off. You should be back to the Pixxie home screen.

XBox 360
Pixxie is compatible with XBox 360. You will need a HDMI-to-HDMI cable to connect this device to Pixxie. Once XBox 360 is connected:

  1. Turn both devices on.
  2. Select Apps > HDMI In.
  3. Your XBox will now be projected on Pixxie, and you can use it like you would on a TV.

Nintendo Switch
Pixxie is compatible with Nintendo Switch. You will need a HDMI-to-HDMI cable whereby you need to connect the HDMI cord to the Switch docking station. Once connected:

  1. Turn both devices on.
  2. Select Apps > HDMI In.
  3. Your Nintendo will now be projected by Pixxie on the screen and you can use it like you would on a TV. Movie File Compatibility

Movie File Compatibility
Pixxie can read Windows-formatted hard drive (FAT 32). Mac-OS-formatted drives cannot be read by Pixxie unless the drive is formatted as FAT 32.
Pixxie is compatible with the following movie file types: avi, fly, mkv, mov, mp4, VOB, wmv
Pixxie does not recognize the following movie formats: mpeg, mov
Pixxie cannot play copyrighted movies downloaded from the iTunes store or protected by HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). To watch this content, you will need to use a laptop, Apple TV Box or games console via the HDMI port.
Uninstalling/Reinstalling an App
Pixxie comes preloaded with all your favourite apps. You can view all of them by selecting the Apps icon on the home screen. You can install new apps via the Google Play store, please note only compatible apps will be available, if your app is not available or does not work it will not be compatible with the Pixxie operating system.
If you are having technical issues with an app, please uninstall and reinstall the app to troubleshoot the issue. Please do not update the native apps preloaded on Pixxie via the Google Play store.
To uninstall/ reinstall an am

  1. Click on the main apps screen, click on the app you want to uninstall, click on the menu button (button with 3 lines) your app will be uninstalled, if you want to download Netflix, Disney+, YouTube again simply click back to the Pixxie main screen and select the relevant app. Your app will begin to download.

Adding Apps to the Home screen
You can add more apps, so they are visible on the home screen. Added apps are the only ones that you can delete from the home screen.
To add, replace or delete apps from the home screen:

  1. Goto the home screen and click the + icon (usually above the Apps icon). In Manager, choose the app you want to add. That app will now be visible on the home screen.
  2. Todelete an added app, click on that app using the Menu button of your remote. Click delete to remove the app. You can also opt to click replace to choose a different app appearing on your home screen.

    Factory Reset OPTION 1 (Recommended)
    On the Pixxie Home Screen go to: Settings > Device preferences > Reset

OPTION 2
Using the buttons on top of the Pixxie:

  1. Hold down the left-hand ‘arrow’ button
  2. While continuing to hold down the arrow button, press the power button on and hold them both down until the Pixxie turns on (about 5-6 seconds).
  3. Once the Pixxie is on, the factory reset will initialise and the unit will restart.
  4. Pair your remote
  5. Using the air mouse select the settings and connect to your WIFI network to complete your Pixxie set up.
