Product Information

The product is a HORTUS composite fence PREMIUM start module. It includes the following components: – Post: Dimensions – 6 x 6 x 180 cm – Top rail: Length – 179.2 cm – Pickets: Length – 180 cm –  Bottom rail: Length – 181.4 cm – L-shaped brackets: 2 pieces with screws – Post cap

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Burying fence posts: Dig a hole with a minimum depth of 50 cm.
  2. Place the post in the middle of the hole and use brace bars to ensure it is plumb.
  3. Pour readymade post mix evenly around the post (approximately 1-2 bags of 25 kg).
  4. Fill the hole with water and check that the post level is still plumb.
  5. Repeat the process for the next post, using the aluminum bottom rail to measure the distance between the posts.
  6. Inserting pickets: a. Calculate the total height from top to bottom, including the top and bottom rail, using the provided calculation form.
  7. Attach an L-shaped bracket to each post using the self-cutting screw.
  8. Remove the post cap from each.
  9.  Install the pickets one by one until the section is complete.
  10. Place the aluminum top rail at the top.
  11. Install cover rails in the unused slotted fence posts (the cover rails can be shortened depending on the fence height).
  12. Finally, place the top post.
    Note: The calculation form provides a specific height measurement based on different picket sizes (15 cm or 20.5 cm) and cover sizes. Please refer to the provided diagrams and illustrations in the user manual for a visual representation of the installation process.

Burying fence posts

  1. Place the post (D) in the dug hole (min. 50 cm deep). Please view the calculation form below. The post can be shortened if you don’t want to dig deeper, than the minimum depth.
  2. Place the post in the middle of the hole, and place a few brace bars to make sure that the post is plumb.
  3. Pour in readymade post mix evenly around the post. Approximately 1-2 bags of 25 kg for each post.
  4. Fill the hole with water and make sure that the post level is still plumb.
  5. The next post is to be installed the exact same way. Use the aluminum bottom rail (C) to measure the distance between the posts; both at the top and at the bottom.

Inserting pickets

  1. Calculate the height (please view the calculation form below) from top to bottom including the top and bottom rail, and attach the L-shaped bracket (E). Mount the L-shaped bracket onto the post with the provided self-cutting screw.

  2. Repeat 1. with the other post. Then remove the post cap.

  3. Place the bottom rail on top of the L-shaped bracket.

  4. Place the pickets (B) one by one until the section is done.

  5. At the top, place the aluminum top rail (A).

  6. 2 x cover rails (provided) are to be installed in the unused slotted fence posts. The cover rails can be shortened depending on the height of the fence.

  7. Finally, place the top post (F).
    Calculation form:

    • Wood look: 15 cm width (cover size: 14,1 cm):
    • pickets: 112,8 cm + top and bottom rail 3,5 cm + L – bracket 5 cm. Total height 121,3 cm.
    • Brushed look: 20,5 cm width (cover size 19,6 cm):
    • pickets: 117,6 cm + top and bottom rail 3,5 cm + L – bracket 5 cm. Total height 126,1 cm
