BEFORE USE, IT IS REQUIRED TO READ THIS INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL!
DEVIATING FROM THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY HAVE FATAL CONSEQUENCES!
WARNING: Work and movement in heights is a dangerous activity, which requires thorough training and knowledge of used products. Be sure to check the correct function and integrity of the system components and the fall protection before starting work. The instructions in this manual describe the right steps to take care of your protective equipment, so avoid other procedures that may be incorrect and may endanger your life and health. Neither the manufacturer nor the seller is responsible for any damages caused by improper or improper use and / or misuse of the product. In all cases, the responsible person and the risk taker are the users.
DESCRIPTION: This product is a fall protection device designed for safe work at heights and above free depths (eg work on roofs, platforms, scaffolding, columns and masts …). Its design provides the user with maximum comfort and a high level of safety. It is made of materials suitable for usual weather conditions and good working practices. The lanyard must not be used to hold the fall without falling energy absorber. Individual webbings are combined to form a complex system to capture the fall of the user. The anchor elements (carabiners, connectors) must be used in accordance with these instructions and corresponding valid carabiner standards (EN 362). The exact specifications of product can be found on the product ‘s production label and in the text on the product packaging. All products considered PPE must be in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/425. Declaration of Conformity and the PPE review form can be found at www.crestogroup.com.
USE / SETTING UP THE HARNESS: The safety harness must only be used by a person who is medically fit for this type of work, properly trained and responsible for his / her actions, therefore do not start work if you do not meet any of the requirements of the regulations for working at heights. If you do not have enough information or need specific information, contact the manufacturer’s representative in your area or CRESTO GROUP AB directly at the address given in this manual. The fall arrest system should always be above the user’s position, the minimum strength anchored is 15 kN and in the case of textile anchorage points, the minimum strength is 22 kN. Adjust the length of the individual parts to your figure to allow freedom of movement (Fig. 3.1, 3.2, 3.3). Before starting work, we recommend that the user test the safety harness and its accessories and perform a suspension test in a safe place without the risk of falling. When working, it is necessary to regularly check the fastening and adjusting elements during use, it is also necessary to consider the effects of suspension trauma and eliminate them by suitable procedures. Remember to pay attention to any damage to textile materials at work. It is also necessary to have a rescue plan that takes into account all emergencies at work. Never use this safety harness for purposes other than fall protection !!! Any interventions in the construction or repairs by the customer are prohibited. In case of rescue, ask your employer for information and training (in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations). We recommend using the safety harness in the temperature range from – 20 ° C to + 60 ° C. The recommended weight of the user should not exceed 140 kg, including tools and other equipment. When using CRESTO harnesses models 1129, 1136, 1136-Wind, 1137 and 1138 the front connection point is suitable for a helicopter hoist or similar operation.
EN 361 FULL-BODY FALL ARREST HARNESS (Fig. 4.1): The full-body fall arrest harness is part of the fall arrest system according to EN 363 (personal fall protection equipment). Only these points may be used for connection to a fall arrest system, such as a mobile fall arrest device, a fall arrest absorber or other systems described in EN 363. For easy identification, these attachment points are marked with the letter “A” (Figure 4.1a, 4.1b, 4.1c, 4.1d). The free space below the user must be sufficient to prevent the user from being hit by an obstacle in the event of a fall. Specific details on the free space calculation can be found in the operating instructions for the other components (energy absorbers, mobile fall arrest devices )
EN 358 / PPE-R/11.043:2019 WORKING POSITIONING AND FALL ARREST HARNESS (Fig. 4.2): These connection points may only be used for attachment to a work-positioning system (maximum fall height: 0.6 m) or a restraint system. Read the instructions for use of the connector to understand its use. These attachment points are not to be used for catching a fall, do not use these attachment points in a risk of the user hanging or if the user is exposed to unexpected belt loads. It may be necessary to add collective or personal fall arrest systems to work positioning or mobile restraint systems . For the user safety, it is necessary to use an anchorage point located at or above the level of the belt.
EN 813 SEATING HARNESS (Fig. 4.3): Front attachment point: intended for use in rope and working positioning. Use the attachment point (textile or metal) to attach the rope descender, connecting ropes, connecting lanyards, work seats. This attachment point is not suitable for catching a fall.
ANSI/ASSE 2359.11-2014 FULL-BODY HARNESSES: Full-body harnesses that comply with ANSI / ASSE Z359.11 are to be used with other fall protection systems that limit the maximum arresting force to 8 kN or less. This standard specifies requirements for product use, design, marking, training and test methods, inspection and maintenance. The full body harness is tested in the range of 59-140 kg (CE), 130-310 lbs. The users weight should not exceed 140 kg / 310 lbs
MAINTENANCE: Clean the polluted product with warm water (up to 40 ° C) with handwash cleaners (fig. 4.1). If the product is dirty we strongly recommend do not disinfect the product, because the material could be damaged.
