Product Information

The Splint Bath is a device designed for cleaning and maintaining splints. It features a water basin, a water sensor, and a thermocouple inline filter. The unit operates at a temperature of 135°F/57°C and requires a cleaning solution consisting of vinegar or a coffee machine/commercial descaler. The unit also has a glass surface that may accumulate calcium over time, which can be easily cleaned with vinegar or a commercial glass cleaner. The unit is compatible with tap water, but distilled water can be used in hard-water environments with the provided proportions.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Evacuate the water from the Splint Bath. Refer to the user manual for the procedure.

Cleaning The Glass

Over time, water vapor may cause calcium to build upon the glass and in the hinges. This is perfectly normal and easily cleaned with vinegar on a soft cloth or a commercial glass cleaner.

Replacing the UV-C Bulb

Annually – Recommend changing the bulb annually even when if is still working.
Purchase – Replacement bulbs can be purchased from a Strava dealer.
Replacement – Bulb replacement is simple and can be done by anyone, however, we recommend a qualified service technician if your organization has one.

DISTILLED WATER

Tap water is required for the unit to run correctly. Follow these proportions if you are in a hard-water environment and require distilled water.

CLEAN INLINE FILTER

Note: there are two filter versions depending on the model date.

Loosen the filter with supplied Allen key. Wiggle the filter off of the thermocouple. Run under water and scrub out debris from the screen with a hard bristled brush utensil.
Fit the cleaned filter back on the thermocouple by wiggling it into place (screw heads facing out). Tighten the filter, ensuring that it is properly aligned and close to the hole.

PRIMING

Priming removes any trapped air allowing the pump to engage. Insert priming bulb into the priming port. Squeeze and hold until the bulb is fully inflated. Release from the port. Once the water bubbles, the unit is primed. Repeat if necessary. ****
