Important – Warnings and Safety Instructions

This UPS utilizes voltages that may be hazardous. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit. The unit contains no user replaceable parts. Only authorized service personnel may perform repairs.

Each internal battery voltage is 12 V DC – Sealed, lead-acid, 6-cell battery.

Connection to any other type of receptacle other than a two-pole, three-wire grounded receptacle may result in shock hazard as well as can violate local electrical codes.

In the event of an emergency, switch OFF the Power Switch and disconnect the power cord from the AC power supply to properly disable the UPS.

DO NOT allow liquids or any foreign object to enter the UPS. Do not place beverages or any other liquid-containing vessels on or near the unit.

This unit intended for installation in a controlled environment (temperature controlled, indoor area free of conductive contaminants). Avoid installing the UPS in location where there is standing or running water, or excessive humidity.

DO NOT plug the UPS input into its own output.

DO NOT attach a power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS.
-
DO NOT attach non-computer-related items, such as medical equipment, life-support equipment, microwave ovens or vacuum cleaners to UPS.

To reduce the risk of overheating the UPS, do not cover the UPS cooling vents and avoid exposing the unit to direct sunlight. Additionally, refrain from installing the unit near heat emitting appliances such as space heaters or furnaces.

Unplug the UPS prior to cleaning and do not use liquid or spray detergents.

DO NOT dispose of batteries in a fire as they may explode.

DO NOT open or destroy the battery or batteries. Released electrolyte is harmful to the skin and eyes, and might be toxic.

Servicing of batteries should be performed or supervised by personnel knowledgeable of batteries and the required precautions should be taken. Keep unauthorized personnel away from batteries.

When replacing batteries, replace with the same number of the sealed lead-acid batteries.

The batteries already installed by the supplier are operator installable and may be operated by laymen.

The main socket outlet that supplies the UPS shall be installed near the UPS and should be easily accessible.

It is recommended to refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Servicing is required when the UPS has been damaged in any way. Any evidence of any attempt to open and/or alter the device, including any scratch, peeling, puncturing, or removal of any of the labels, will void the Limited Warranty.

System Description

Power Switch
Press the switch for 2 seconds to turn the UPS ON or OFF. -

This LCD is illuminated when the UPS is working.

Connect to utility power. -
Battery Backup & Surge Protected Outlets
Provides battery backup and surge protection. They ensure power is provided to connected equipments over a period of time during a power failure.
Installation and Operation
Placement
- Install the UPS in a protected area that is free from excessive dust and has good air ventilation.
- We recommend to place the UPS away from other units with at least 20 cm distance to avoid interference.
- Do NOT operate the UPS where the temperature and humidity is outside the specific limits as provided in the specifications.
Charging
- Plug in the AC input cord into the wall outlet.
- For the best results, we recommend charging the battery for at least 6 hours prior to initial use.
- The UPS unit charges its battery whenever it is connected with utility power.
Equipment Connection to Output Receptacles
- The output receptacles are powered when the UPS is switched ON.
- During power failure or other utility issues, these output receptacles will be powered for a limited time by the UPS.
- Plug it to your computer, and monitor.
- Ensure that Power Switch must be kept in the “ON” position, else the UPS will be disabled and your equipment will not be protected during power failure.
Caution:
Never connect a laser printer or scanner with output receptacles.
Laser Printer/ Scanner significantly draws more power when in use.
This may cause overload and consequently damage the UPS unit.
Power ON-OFF
- Press the Power Switch to power the UPS unit ON. The connected devices, in turn, will be protected by the UPS.
- Press the power switch to turn OFF the unit.
Cold Start Function
It is equipped with Cold Start Function – The UPS can be powered on, without AC utility power and battery is charged. Simply press Power Switch to power on the unit.

Troubleshooting
Refer to the following to table for solutions, in case you come across any issues during UPS installation and operation.

Care and Maintenance
