Basic Instructions for Hardware Cloth Installation; depending on the project, instructions will vary. Always use safety glasses and gloves for any project.
Recommended tools
safety glasses, gloves, stapler gun (staples), side cutters, u tacks, hammer, your framework/template.
- Put safety equipment on (glasses/gloves)
- Unroll the hardware cloth
- Measure your dimensions and with a marker, mark the overall layout of the project.
- Taking a pair of wire cutters, cut the wire in line with the dimension pattern.
- Hold the hardware cloth in the installation location and place a U-shaped tack or staple at the top edge so that it covers one of the vertical wires to hold in place. Tap the tack with a hammer or staple with a staple gun until it is flush with the installation surface; continue to repeat this process to insert tacks every 4 to 5 inches along the top of the hardware cloth while making sure that all edges are secure
Note : The cut ends of the cloth are very sharp, make sure you use heavy- duty gloves.
