Assembly Instructions For Optional A5 Weight
Aquarian Part #: A5-WT
A5-WT A5 Weight Assembly
The A5 weight assembly includes two pieces—Stainless steel weight and flexible
plastic spacer.
The spacer is shipped inside of the weight and will need to be removed.
Typically, the spacer will fall out, but if needed, push the spacer out
towards the threaded side of the weight using the hydrophone connector.
Open the small end of the tapered spacer and slide onto the hydrophone cable
near the A5 hydrophone.
As the A5 output connector is slightly larger than the diameter of the cable.
The spacer is needed to fill the inside of the weight assembly so there is
room to push the connector through the hard plastic inside of the weight. The
top of the weight is made from a flexible rubber that will stretch over the
connector.
Pinch the spacer closed and slide it down against the threaded stem of the A5
hydrophone.
The combination of the snug-fitting rubber top of the weight, and filling the
void inside of the weight will prevent trapped air in the weight, which may
bubble out under pressure and create noise in the system. If the spacer is
lost, the weight may be used without it, or the inside of the weight could be
flooded by assembling underwater.
Push the A5 output connector through the weight.
Slide it down the length of the cable and thread it onto the hydrophone.
When tightening the weight onto the hydrophone, hold the hydrophone by the
aluminum shell.
Applying excessive force to the rubber encapsulation may damage the
hydrophone.
You will feel some
resistance as the rubber end of the weight stretches over the connector. Slide
the weight down the length of cable and thread onto the hydrophone. Tighten
firmly by hand; no tools are required.
