MANUAL
It is important that you read this manual before attempting the setup of your
battery. Please take note of certain steps to ensure correct inverter
compatibility.
Please visit https://www.hubblelithium.co.za for the latest version of this
manual.
WARNING:
Working with high voltage systems is dangerous. Do not attempt to modify your
inverter and battery setup unless you are certain you understand the risk.
battery Usage
SINGLE USE:
12.8V is the maximum voltage level for singular use of batteries.
SERIES:
51.2V is the maximum votlage level for 4 batteries connected in series.
Batteries can only be connected in series in groups of 4 at a low voltage
state. It is IMPORTANT to empty the power in each group of batteries before
attempting a series connection.
PARALLEL:
In order to connect batteries in parallel all batteries must be the same
model, the voltage must be in the same state and the voltage difference must
be less than 0.5V to realize parallel connection.
The number of parallel connections is not limited, but more connections will
have higher consistency requirements. It is highly recommended that you do not
exceed a parallel connection of 4 batteries.
SERIES AND PARALLEL:
In order to have a series and parallel connection the batteries must be of the
same model, the voltage must be at a low voltage state, each group must be in
the same voltage state and the voltage difference must be less than 0.5V.
Up to 4 groups of batteries can be connected in series without limiting the
number of parallel connections, however, more parallel connectiong will have a
higher consistency requirement. It is recommended that the number of parallel
connections do no exceed 4 groups of batteries.
PAY ATTENTION TO PARALLEL OUTGOING LINES AND DO NOT CONNECT THE OUTGOING LINES
FROM ONE BATTERY LUG.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
In order to prevent leakage, heating, fire, explosion, performance degradation…etc please use the battery according to the following specifications. Hubble Lithium will not be held liable for incidents involving injury or battery malfunction caused by failure to operate in accordance with the below regulations:
- Handle with care and avoid vibrant vibration/movement.
- Do not immerse the battery in water or other liquids and PAY ATTENTION TO MOISTURE PROTECTION.
- Short circuit between positive and negative terminals of the battery shall be avoided.
- Please charge according to the discharge ambient temperature of -10 ˚C ~ 55 ˚C and charge according to the charging current less than the requirements of the specification.
- Please discharge according to the discharge ambient temperature of -10 ˚C ~ 55 ˚C and discharge according to the discharge current less than the requirements of the specification.
- It is absolutely FORBIDDEN to disassemble the battery, such may cause an internal short circuit and internal material decomposition, fire, explosion…etc. In addition, dismantling the battery may cause leakage of the battery’s electrolytes which is toxic to the human body. If this elecrolyte leeakage splashes on the skin, eyes or any other part of the human anatomy WASH WITH CLEAN WATER IMMEDIATELY AND GO STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.
- Do not use fire to dispose of waste batteries, this will cause a dangerous explosion which could result in potentially fatal injuries.
- In the case of battery damage, battery deformation, electrolyte leakage, electrolyte smell or any other abnormal behaviours DO NOT USE THE BATTERY AGAIN. Send the battery to the authorized manufacturer office or relevant institutions for proper treatment. In addition, the battery with electrolyte leakage must be far away from any fire source to avoid explosion.
- Hubble Lithium will not be held liable for injuries caused by batteries dismantled without permission.
storage & maintenance
STORAGE
The S-120 batteries must be stored in clean, dry, ventilated rooms at an
ambient temperature of 5 ˚C ~ 25 ˚C and keep the relative humidity less than
75%. Avoid contact with corrosive liquids and away from fire and heat
sources. The S-120 maintains approximately 50% ~ 60% power; therefore, it must
be charged once every 15 days in storage for about 2-3 hours to prevent over
discharge of the battery.
MAINTENANCE
-
The battery will reach maximum capacity after 3-5 times of us, do not exceed this.
-
The battery must be used in a ventilated and dry environment away from any flamable objects or fire sources.
-
The optimum working ambient temperature of the battery is 15 ˚C ~ 35 ˚C, do not exceed or you will risk damaging the normal operation of the battery.
-
Do not short circuit the positive and negative ends of the battery.
-
Do not use organic solvent to clean the battery shell. In the case of an accident use carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, carbon tetrachloride extinguishers or sand.
-
If the battery fails in any way send it to the authorized manufacturer or relevant institutions for proper treatment. For safety precautions DO NOT DISCARD.
TRANSPORT -
The S-120 is suitable for automobile, train, aircraft and other transportation modes. Avoid sunlight and water exposure, and violent vibrational movement.
-
Insulate the battery with shockproof materials and mark with safety precautions to avoid battery damage during transportation.
-
The battery must be transported upward and labelled as such. DO NOT place it upside
down or on it’s side. -
Handle battery with care during the loading and unloading process and avoid collisions at all costs.
-
Do not place heavy objects on top of the battery to avoid damage caused by extrusion.
-
Labell the battery transportation packaging with moisture, water and fire hazards labels to avoid danger during transportation.
