Product Information: Woven Wire Grilles

Recommendations for Cutting Woven Wire Grilles
Before cutting the woven wire grille, it is recommended to follow the below steps:
Step 1:
Create a template of the desired grille size using heavy paper or cardboard. Measure the routed opening where the grille will be placed and deduct 1/8 from each dimension for clearance. For instance, if the outer edges of the routed opening measure 14 x 28, the template should measure 13-7/8 x 27-7/8.
Step 2:
Place the template on a flat surface large enough to hold the grille material.
Lay the grille over the template and ensure that the design is centered from
top to bottom and from side to side. Ensure that the wires run into each
corner (see illustration below).
Step 3:
Using a permanent ink marker or lumber crayon, mark the grille wires corresponding to your template. If more than one grille of each size is to be cut, use a marker to outline one ‘diamond’ on the template near each of the four corners. This will assist in positioning the remaining material on the template.
Step 4:
Cut the grille with wire or bolt cutters, carefully following your marked
lines. Any loose corner wires may be secured once the grille is mounted into
the routed opening.
