Quick Reference Guide
Text Only Readit Wireless Keypad
This guide will explain each button on the keypad starting at the top left
corner and working horizontally across the keypad. The keypad is laid out in
three rows of controls. The top row has 4 controls, the next row has 5, and
the final row has 7.
Please ensure you have removed the magnetic simplifier to show all controls.
Some of the controls are only useful for low vision users. These controls will
be called a ‘Low Vision Control’ at the start of its explanation so it can
easily be skipped if not required.
Row 1 – control 1:
The top left button is a triangle pointing downwards. This is the Help button,
press it to access the full help menu. This enters an intuitive control
describer mode. To exit, press the help button again.
Row 1 – control 2:
Low Vision Control: a circular button. In document mode, quick press to cycle
through the text views. Press and hold to see the original image. When in live
image mode, quick press this button to rotate the image 90 degrees.
Row 1 – control 3:
Low Vision Control: an octagonal dial that can be rotated to adjust
magnification. Quick press to cycle between preferred reading colours, inverse
and full colour. To set the preferred reading colours press, hold and rotate.
Row 1 – control 4:
Low Vision Control: a round thumb stick (joystick) on the top right of the
keypad. To pan around your document in Live mode, Image view and Overlay view,
move the joystick in the
direction you want to move your document. Quick press to start reading from
the word nearest the pointer.
Row 2 – Control 1:
A vertical rectangular button with three horizontal lines embossed on it.
Quick press to access document management. Press and hold to access the main
menu.
Row 2 – Control 2:
Low Vision Control: a rectangular button rotated 45 degrees.
Quick press to switch between Document mode and Live mode.
When in Live mode press and hold the button to cycle between live mode and
writing mode.
Row 2 – Control 3:
A small rotating dial. Quick press to spell a word. Rotate the dial for,
either the next or previous word.
Row 2 – Control 4:
A star-shaped button. Quick press to add a bookmark. Press and hold to enter
the bookmark menu.
Row 2 – Control 5:
A hexagonal button. Quick press to add an additional page to your current
document. Press and hold to start a multi-page capture.
Row 3 – Control 1:
A horizontal rectangular button with an “X” embossed on it, located at the
bottom left corner. This is the Cancel button.
Pressing it stops capturing or exits a menu or question dialogues.
Row 3 – Control 2:
A tall crescent-shaped button with double left arrows embossed on it. Quick
press to access the previous paragraph. Press and hold to access previous
pages.
Row 3 – Control 3:
A shorter crescent-shaped button with a single left arrow embossed on it.
Press for the previous sentence.
Row 3 – Control 4:
A circular button located in the middle of the bottom row with a raised bump
in its centre. This is the play pause button. Press to play or pause reading.
Row 3 – Control 5:
A shorter crescent-shaped button with a single right arrow embossed on it.
Press for the next sentence.
Row 3 – Control 6:
A tall crescent-shaped button with double right arrows embossed on it. Quick
press to access the next paragraph.
Press and hold to access next pages.
Row 3 – Control 7:
A horizontal rectangular button with a raised line on its bottom edge located
in the far right of the keypad. Quick press to capture and read. Press and
hold to force table mode capture.
