BOMANN WKS 6032 G CB Glass Electric Water Kettle

Product Information

The GLAS-WASSERKOCHER WKS 6032 G CB is an electric kettle that can handle a power of 2200 W. It comes with an integrated lever in the lid to open the kettle, and a filler opening to pour water into the kettle. The appliance should be connected to a properly installed protective contact socket and a separate supply line with a fuse protection via a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended. The instruction manual and the separately enclosed safety instructions should be read carefully before using the appliance.

Product Usage Instructions

Unpacking the Appliance:

1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties, and cardboard packaging.
3. Check the appliance for possible transport damage to avoid hazards. Do not operate a damaged appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.
4. Clean the appliance as described under Cleaning before use.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance:

• Do not touch the appliance while it is hot. Allow it to cool down before putting it away.
• The appliance is powerful. Use caution while handling it.

Preparation:

1. Before using the appliance for the first time, boil it three times with fresh water. Use only clear water without additives.

Operation:

1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
2. Open the kettle using the integrated lever in the lid.
3. Fill in clear water through the filler opening (maximum level indicator).
4. Close the lid.
5. Switch on the appliance with the switch.
6. To interrupt or end the cooking process prematurely, set the switch to position 0.

Cleaning:

• Use mild cleaning agents and a soft cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
• Do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaning agents.
• Clean the interior of the appliance with a descaling agent, following the instructions on the package. Rinse thoroughly with clear water afterward.

Disposal:

Dispose of the appliance properly to avoid potential environmental and health hazards. Follow the relevant regulations in your area.

Unpacking the Appliance

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance

• WARNING: Risk of burns!
• Do not open the lid while the water is boiling.
• Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
• The appliance housing becomes hot during operation, do not touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before putting it away.

CAUTION : Overload!

• If you use extension cables, they should have a cable cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
• Do not use multiple sockets as this appliance is too powerful.

CAUTION:

• Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The contacts on the base are not suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
• Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you put it back on the base!

Notes for Use

Mains Cable

Unwind the required main cable completely from the base part of the base. Please pay attention to the routing of the main cable.

Connected Load

In total, the appliance can handle a power of 2200 W. With this connected load, a separate supply line with fuse protection via a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended.

Electrical Connection

1. Check that the mains voltage you want to use matches that of the appliance. You will find the information on the type plate.
2. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed protective contact socket.

Switching the Appliance On / Off

• Switch on (switch position: I): Switch on the appliance with the switch.
• Switching off (switch position: 0): Switch off the appliance with the switch.

Preparation

Before using the appliance for the first time, boil it 3 times with fresh water. Use only clear water without additives.

Operation

1. Place the appliance on a flat surface.
2. Open the kettle using the integrated lever in the lid.
3. Fill in clear water through the filler opening (maximum 1.7 litres). You can read the fill level on the appliance’swater level indicator.
4. Always use fresh, cold water.
5. The water level must be between the MIN and MAX marks.
6. Close the lid. Always make sure that the lid is firmly closed.
7. Place the kettle flush on the base.
8. Switch on the appliance with the switch

Interrupting / Ending Operation

There are two ways to interrupt or end the cooking process:

1. The appliance switches off automatically after the cooking process
2. To end or interrupt the cooking cycle prematurely, set the switch to the 0 position.
3. Always switch off the appliance before removing it from the base! The contacts on the base are not suitable for disconnecting the power supply.
4. Make sure that the appliance is switched off when you put it back on the base!
5. Unplug the mains plug from the socket.
6. Empty the water container.
7. Only hold the appliance by the handle.
8. Keep the lid closed when pouring out.
9. Open and close the lid by only using the integrated lever in the lid.
10. If the appliance becomes hot during operation, do not touch it and allow the appliance to cool down before putting it away.

Cleaning

WARNING:

• Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning. Wait until the appliance has cooled down.
• Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or other liquids. It could cause an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

• Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Clean the filter on the lid with a nylon brush.
• Rinse the water reservoir with clean water. Dry it with a cloth.
• Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth after use.

Descaling

• The intervals for descaling depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use.
• If the appliance switches off before the water boils, descaling is necessary.
• Do not use vinegar, but a commercially available descaling agent based on citric acid. Dose according to the instructions.
• After descaling, boil fresh water several times (approx. 3 to 4 times) to remove residues. Do not use this water for consumption.

Storage

• Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry completely.
• We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.
• Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.

After operating without water or with too little water, the appliance has not yet cooled down sufficiently.| Let the appliance cool down for 15 minutes.
The appliance switches off before cooking.| The inside of the kettle is heavily calcified or
