Main components and their name
Letter | Name | Letter | Name |
---|---|---|---|
A | Fluid container | F | Pressure release valve |
B | Hose | G | Brake bleeder adaptor |
C | Hand pump | H | Pressure cap wrench |
D | Pressure gauge | I | Refilling bottle |
E | Pressure cap |
Use
-
First consult the manual of your vehicle to know what brake fluid is best for it. Make sure that the engine is off. Lift the vehicle and make sure that it is securely placed on an appropriate stand. Remove all the wheels or one after another.
-
Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir. Remove as much brake fluid as possible from the reservoir. While doing so, always be careful. Brake fluid erodes varnish and paint. Fill new brake fluid into the brake fluid reservoir.
-
Connect the brake bleeder adaptor (G) to the brake fluid reservoir and make sure that it is sealed. Make sure that the O-ring is secured within the brake bleeder adaptor. Use the hand pump (C) to increase the pressure of the brake fluid bleeder to 0.7 bar (10 psi). Begin to bleed the fluid out of the system by connecting the bleeding hose to the calliper bleeder and loosening the bleeder.
-
Assist the bleeding process by pressing on the brake pedal of your vehicle repeatedly.
-
Stop draining the fluid as soon as the liquid coming through the bleeding hose becomes clear.
Re-fasten the bleeder and take the hose off. -
Repeat these steps for the brake callipers of the remaining wheels. After every calliper bleed, re-fill the brake fluid into the brake fluid reservoir and repressurise the device. Clean any dirt from the calliper before connection.
-
You can re-install the individual wheel after bleeding the calliper or all the wheels after bleeding all callipers. Remove the brake bleeder adaptor from the brake fluid reservoir. Check the integrity of the brake system by pressing the brake pedal. If it does not feel firm, repair any problem before re-operating the vehicle.
When driving your vehicle for the first time after bleed, drive slowly and push the brake pedal. In case you detect a problem, first repair it before driving normally.
Cleaning and maintaining
- Before every use, check the condition of the device and repair possible damages before any future use.
- After every use, wipe off dirt and fluid using a mild detergent. To clean the container, the pressure cap (E) can be removed by using the pressure cap wrench (H).
- Store the device in its carrying case or package box.
