Product Usage Instructions

1. Assemble the power cleaner by following the instructions provided in the operator’s manual. Make sure all guards are in place and operating properly before each use.
2. Connect the garden hose to the power cleaner.
3. Connect the quick connector to the spray wand.
4. Insert the battery into the power cleaner and ensure that it is fully charged.
5. Press and hold the lock-out button on the spray wand while squeezing the trigger to start cleaning.
6. Adjust the spray wand nozzle according to the desired pressure and angle for cleaning.
7. After use, turn off the power cleaner and disconnect all attachments. Store the power cleaner in a safe and dry place.

• Know your tool. Read the operator’s manual carefully. Learn the machine’s applications and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards related to this tool.
• Keep guards in place and in working order. Never operate the tool with any guard or cover removed. Make sure all guards are operating properly before each use.
• To reduce the risk of injury, keep children and visitors away. All visitors should wear safety glasses and be kept a safe distance from work area.
• Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly small children, and pets.
• Use right tool. Don’t force tool or attachment to do a job it was not designed for. Don’t use it for a purpose not intended. Use of the tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
• Dress properly. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Do not wear loose clothing, neckties, or jewelry. They can get caught and draw you into moving parts. Rubber gloves and nonskid footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Also wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• Do not operate the equipment while barefoot or when wearing sandals or similar lightweight footwear. Wear protective footwear that will protect your feet and improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
• Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.
• Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
• Don’t overreach or stand on a ladder, rooftop, or other unstable support. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Use only recommended accessories. The use of improper accessories may cause risk of injury.
•  Follow the maintenance instructions specified in this manual.
• Check damaged parts. Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged must be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified service center to avoid risk of personal injury.
• Never leave tool running unattended. Turn power off and remove battery pack. Don’t leave tool until it comes to a complete stop.
•  Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for safe loading, unloading, transport, and storage of machine.
• Be thoroughly familiar with controls. Know how to stop the product and bleed pressure quickly.
• Keep tool dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or any sol-vents to clean tool.
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use com-mon sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inatten-tion while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
•  Check the work area before each use. Remove all objects such as rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, or string which can be thrown or become entangled in the machine.
• Do not use tool if switch does not turn it off. Have switch replaced by a qualified service center.
• Before cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, shut off the motor and make certain all moving parts have stopped. Remove the battery pack to prevent accidental starting.
• Avoid dangerous environment. Keep work area well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Never use in an explosive atmosphere. Normal sparking of the motor could ignite fumes.
• Do not operate while smoking or near an open flame.
• Do not operate around dry brush, twigs, cloth rags, or other flammable materials.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

DANGER:
Risk of fire or explosion. Do not spray flammable liquids such as gasoline. Look for this symbol reference on the container.

WARNING:
Chemicals and chemical fumes can be hazardous and cause serious injury, permanent damage or death if ingested, inhaled or splashed in eyes or on skin.

WARNING :
Some spray created from products used with the sprayer contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Follow directions on containers of all such products. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, wear approved safety equipment such as face masks that are specially designed to filter out sprays, gloves, and other appropriate protective equipment.

WARNING :
Do not allow conductive or corrosive fluids to get inside the battery pack. If conductive or corrosive fluids are spilled on the battery, refer to the instructions in your battery operators manual.

CAUTION :
Keep all body parts out of the spray pattern.

• Never point the power cleaner in the direction of people, pets, or any electrical device.
• Before starting any cleaning operation, close doors and windows. Clear the area to be cleaned of debris, toys, outdoor furniture, or other objects that could create a hazard.
•  Never attempt to use the power cleaner if ice has formed in any part of the equipment. Always store indoors to prevent from freezing.
•  Do not use acids, alkalines, solvents, flammable material, or industrial grade solutions in this product. These products can cause physical injuries to the operator and irreversible damage to the machine.
• WARNING: High pressure jets can be dangerous if subject to misuse. The jet must not be directed at persons, animals, electrical devices, or the machine itself.
• Hold the power cleaner securely with both hands. Expect the trigger handle to move when the trigger is pulled due to reaction forces. Failure to do so could cause loss of control and injury to yourself and others.
• Never attempt to make any adjustments while the mo-tor is running (except where specifically recommended by the manufacturer).
• Protective covers must always cover rotating parts when the motor is running.
• Check bolts and nuts for looseness before each use. A loose bolt or nut may cause serious motor problems.
• When servicing use only recommended or equivalent replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage.
• ONLY use cold or warm water. Never use water more than 110°F.
• Never spray close to the surface to be cleaned as you can damage the surface.
•  Never use water or any liquids to clean or rinse off your product and do not expose the product to rain. Store indoors in a dry area. Corrosive liquids, water, and chemicals can enter the product’s electronic components and/or battery compartment and damage electronic components and/or the battery pack, which can result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious personal injury. Remove any buildup of dirt and debris by wiping the product clean with a dry cloth occasionally.
• Before using any sanitizer or other spray materials in this sprayer, read the label on its original container thoroughly and follow its directions. Some spray materials are dangerous and should not be used in this sprayer, as they can damage the sprayer and cause serious bodily injury or property damage.
• Do not spray hot or boiling liquids. These can weaken or damage the tool.
•  Spray area must be well ventilated.
•  Avoid spraying on windy days. Spray can be accidentally blown onto plants or objects that should not be sprayed.
•  Store the sprayer in a secure, well-ventilated indoor space with all accessory containers empty.
• Do not use alcohol based chemicals.
• Do not use powders or abrasive chemicals.
• Do not use commercial grade chemicals or chemicals for commercial or industrial purposes. Use only consumer grade water-based cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
• Do not combine chemicals.
• If this product is used for herbicide/insecticide applications do not re-purpose it for use with disinfectants. Obtain a second nozzle set and tool for dedicated use with disinfectants only. Tools used for used for herbicide/insecticide applications are regulated under EPA Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act regulations and are considered contaminated.
• Know the contents of the chemical being sprayed. Read all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and container labels provided with the chemical. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s safety instructions. It is a violation of federal law to use an EPA-approved disinfectant in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
• Do not leave residue or spray material in the tool, its accessories, or containers after using the sprayer. Clean after each use.
• Maintain this product. Thoroughly inspect both the inside and outside of the sprayer and examine the components before each use. Check for cracked and deteriorated tanks, leaks, clogged nozzles, and missing or damaged parts. If damaged, have the product repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained products.
• Disconnect the battery from the unit before draining, cleaning, or storing the sprayer. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidental starting.
• Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
• Protect your lungs. Wear a face or dust mask when using the sprayer. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Battery tools do not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet; therefore, they are always in operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards when not using your battery tool or when changing accessories. Remove battery pack when tool is not in use. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.
• For outdoor use only.

SPECIFIC RULES FOR BATTERY OPERATION

•  Do not use battery-operated appliance in rain.

• Remove or disconnect battery before servicing, cleaning or removing material from the tool.

• Use this product only with batteries and chargers listed in tool/appliance/battery pack/charger cor-relation supplement 988000-842.

• Store idle appliances – When not in use, tool should be stored indoors in a dry, locked place out of the reach of children.

•  Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, pick-ing up, or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing appliance that have the switch on invites accidents.

• Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance be-fore making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.

• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

•  Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.

• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

•  Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is dam-aged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.

• Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265°F may cause explosion.

• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

• Have servicing performed by a qualified repair per-son using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

• Do  not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for possible special disposal instructions.
  Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short the battery with conducting materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.

• Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in contact with your skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate medical attention. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.

• Do not charge battery tool in a damp or wet location. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock.

• Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

• Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others who may use this power tool. If you loan someone this power tool, loan them these instructions also.

The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the information on the product and in this operator’s manual as well as a knowledge of the project you are attempting. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety rules.

MODE CONTROL SELECTOR
Allows adjustments of the pressure and water flow to fit the requirements of your cleaning job. Change the water flow from 0.2 to 0.7 GPM with the push of a button.
POWER SAVING SYSTEM
The power cleaner is equipped with a power-saving feature that allows the motor to stop whenever the trigger is released.

SIPHON HOSE
The siphon hose with filter gives the user complete portability to pull water from any water source like a pool or a 5 gal. bucket of water.

TRIGGER HANDLE
The trigger handle has a gripping surface that provides added control of the spray wand and helps reduce fatigue.

TRIGGER WITH LOCK-OUT
Pulling the trigger releases a stream of water for high pressure cleaning. The lock-out provides protection against unauthorized use.

ASSEMBLY

UNPACKING
This product requires assembly.

• Carefully remove the product and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the Packing List are included.
  WARNING:
  Do not use this product if any parts in the Packing List are already assembled to your product when you unpack it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require customer installation. Use of a product that may have been improperly assembled could result in serious personal injury.

• Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.

• Do not discard the packing material until you have care-fully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.

INSTALLING/REMOVING THE AUXILIARY HANDLE ASSEMBLY

See Figure 2.
The auxiliary handle assembly can be installed on either side of the tool.
To install the auxiliary handle assembly:

• Remove the battery pack.
• Turn the handle grip counterclockwise to loosen it and open the collar wide enough to fit over the front of the power cleaner
• Place the collar as shown.
• Turn the handle grip clockwise to tighten. Make sure the handle assembly is secure before beginning operation.

CONNECTING THE SPRAY WAND TO THE POWER CLEANER

• See Figure 3.
• Align the arrows and insert the end of the spray wand into the power cleaner and push it until it clicks into place.
• Pull on the spray wand to be certain it is properly secured.
•  To remove, press the button on the power cleaner and pull to remove the spray wand.

CONNECTING THE 3-IN-1 NOZZLE TO THE SPRAY WAND
See Figure 4.
Align the arrows and insert the end of the 3-in-1 nozzle into the spray wand and push it until it clicks into place.

• Pull on the 3-in-1 nozzle to be certain it is properly secured.
• To remove, press the button on the wand and pull to remove the 3-in-1 nozzle.

CONNECTING THE SIPHON HOSE OR BOTTLE ADAPTOR TO THE POWER CLEANER
See Figure 5.
The siphon hose can be submerged directly into any fresh water source like a lake, pool, or a 5 gal. bucket for maximum portability. The bottle adaptor allows for even more portability when a larger water source isn’t available.
To attach the siphon hose:

• Completely uncoil and straighten the siphon hose to prevent kinks.
• Align the quick connect collar on the siphon hose to the water inlet on the power cleaner.
• Push the collar onto the water inlet until it clicks securely into place.
• Pull on the hose to be certain it is properly secured. To attach the bottle adaptor:
• Thread the bottle adaptor siphon tube into the quick connector and tighten securely.
• Align the bottle adaptor to the water inlet on the power cleaner.
• Pull back the quick connect collar and install it by pushing the collar onto the water inlet. Release the collar. Pull on the collar to be certain it is secured properly.
• Insert the bottle adaptor siphon tube into a two-liter bottle. Thread the bottle onto the quick connector and tighten securely.

CONNECTING A GARDEN HOSE TO THE POWER CLEANER

See Figure 6.

NOTICE:
Always observe all local regulations when connecting hoses to the water main. Some areas have restrictions against connecting directly to public drinking water sup-ply to prevent the feedback of chemicals into the drinking water supply. Direct connection through a receiver tank or backflow preventer is usually permitted.

NEVER use hot water. Before connecting a garden hose to the power cleaner:
Run water through the hose for 30 seconds to clean any debris from the hose.

To connect a garden hose to the power cleaner:
Completely uncoil the garden hose or remove completely from reel to prevent kinks.
NOTE: There must be a minimum of 10 feet of unrestricted hose between the power cleaner intake and the hose faucet or shut off valve (such as a “Y” shut off connector).

• Thread the quick connector onto the end of the garden hose.
• Attach the quick connector to the water inlet on the power cleaner.

NOTICE:
Do not run the power cleaner without water supply connected and turned on, as this may damage the high pressure seals and decrease pump life. Completely unwind the hose from its reel or coil and make sure the hose is not being restricted by tires, rocks, or any other objects that may lessen or prevent water flow to the power cleaner.

Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.

WARNING :
Never direct a water stream toward people or pets, or any electrical device. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury, electric shock, or death. Use safety equipment. Protect your eyes, skin, and lungs while mixing, filling, spraying, and cleaning. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury and damage to property.

WARNING :
Always follow the chemical manufacturer’s instructions printed on their product labeling for use, cleaning, and storage. Clean thoroughly after each use, following the instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Chemicals should be stored out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury. Do not combine chemicals.

APPLICATIONS

You may use this product for the purpose of cleaning objects like the examples listed below:

• Patio furniture, windows, automobiles, boats, or RVs

WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.

To install:

• Open the battery cover by releasing the latch and opening the cover.
• Place the battery pack in the product. Align the raised rib on the battery pack with groove in the battery port.

WARNING:

Make sure the latch on the bottom of the battery pack snaps in place and the battery pack is fully seated and secure in the battery port before beginning operation. Failure to securely seat the battery pack could cause the battery pack to fall out, resulting in serious personal injury.

NOTICE :
When placing battery pack in the tool, be sure raised rib on battery pack aligns with the bottom of the tool and latches into place properly. Improper installation of the battery pack can cause damage to internal components.

• Close the battery cover and fasten the latch to secure the cover.

WARNING:
Do not use the power cleaner unless the battery cover is fully closed and latched. NEVER allow water or chemicals to enter the battery compartment.

To remove:

• Unlock and open the battery cover.
• Locate the latch on the bottom of the battery pack and depress to release the battery pack.

WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore, switch should always be locked with hands free of the lock-out button when not in use. Remove battery pack when transporting or carrying the tool to avoid accidental starting, which may result in serious injury.

STARTING AND STOPPING THE POWER CLEANER

DANGER:
Improper application of cleaning solution can result in SEVERE INJURY or DEATH. Follow CDC and EPA guide-lines for cleaning.

WARNING:
Risk of fire or explosion. Spray area must be well- ventilated and away from sparks or flames.

WARNING
Hold the power cleaner securely with both hands. Expect the power cleaner to move when the trigger is pulled due to reaction forces. Failure to do so could cause loss of control and injury to yourself and others.

NOTE
Never place or immerse the unit in standing water. To start:

• Connect to garden hose, two-liter bottle, or siphon hose with filtered end submerged into water source.

• Install the battery pack.

• Place the lock-out button in the unlocked position.

• Squeeze and hold the trigger to operate.
  Start with the nozzle 1–2 ft. away from the cleaning surface and carefully approach the surface just until the desired level of cleaning is achieved. If the spray is too close it can damage the cleaning surface.
  To stop:

• Release the trigger to stop the flow of water through the nozzle.

• Place the lock-out button in the locked position.

• Remove the battery pack.

MODE CONTROL SELECTOR
See Figure 10.
Allows adjustments of the pressure and water flow to fit the requirements of your cleaning job. Adjust the water flow from 0.2 to 0.7 GPM with a press of a button.

• Press the button to change the setting.
• The LED will toggle from low, to medium, to high, back to low with each press of the button.

SELECTING THE RIGHT NOZZLE FOR THE JOB
See Figure 11.
Each of the nozzles has a different spray pattern. Before starting any cleaning job, determine the best nozzle for the job. Refer to the Nozzle Selection Guide for more information. Rotate the nozzle until the desired position is selected.

RINSING WITH THE POWER CLEANER
See Figure 12.

• Turn off the power cleaner and shut off the water supply.
• Engage the lock out on the trigger by moving the lock-out button to the locked position.
• Rotate the 3-in-1 nozzle to the desired position of the three nozzles.
• Select the right nozzle for the job. See the chart shown earlier in the manual to select the appropriate nozzle.
• Start at the top of the area to be rinsed and work down, overlapping the strokes.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the product before inspecting, cleaning or performing any maintenance.

WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.

WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage. Never use water or any liquids to clean or rinse off your product and do not expose the product to rain. Store indoors in a dry area. Corrosive liquids, water, and chemicals can enter the product’s electronic components and/or battery compartment and damage electronic components and/or the battery pack, which can result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious personal injury. Remove any buildup of dirt and debris by wiping the product clean with a dry cloth occasionally.

WARNING
Always store and dispose of chemicals properly. Disposal of contaminated rinse water should be performed accord-ing to local ordinances and bylaws.

NOTICE:
Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not operate this product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced. Please contact customer service or an authorized service center for assistance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc. Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which could result in serious personal injury.

PUMP LUBRICATION
The pump on this unit is lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further lubrication is required.

STORING THE POWER CLEANER
Store in a dry, covered area where the weather can’t damage it. It is important to store this product in a frost-free area. Always empty water from all hoses, and the pump, before storing.

• Remove the battery and store in a secure location out of the reach of children.
• Disconnect all hoses. Before removing the battery, press the switch to allow all water to drain from the power cleaner.
• Neatly coil the siphon hose and store with power cleaner.
• Press the button on the power cleaner and pull to remove the spray wand. Store the unassembled spray wand and nozzle with the cleaner.
•  Store the unit and accessories in an area that does not reach freezing temperatures. Do not store near furnace or other sources of heat that could dry out the pump seals.
