MECHANICAL ZERO

TO FIND FACTORY ZERO:

  1. Dial turret one direction until it will no longer rotate.
NOTE – Do not force the turret past it’s stopping point.

  2. Dial turret opposite direction counting how many MOA it turns.

  3. Divide that total number of MOA in half and dial to that number for your factory zero.

  4. Complete this procedure for both windage and elevation dials to approximately center the reticle.

MOUNTING YOUR RED DOT

ZEROING YOUR RED DOT

IMPORTANT SAFETY CHECKS:

  • Always check your weapon and surroundings for safety.
  • Follow all weapon manufacturer safety guidelines.
  • Always shoot from a solid rest using consistent and proper form.
  • Be sure that your target is level to aid in accurate sight-in process.

TO ZERO THE RED DOT:

  1. Start sight-in process from 7 yards, from solid rest fire a 3-shot group, ensuring that you fire at same spot each time.
  2. After the first 3-shot group, make adjustments to bring the point of impact (POI) to the center of the target you’re shooting.
  3. To adjust the dot; Turn the elevation dial marked U towards the arrow (clockwise) to adjust point of impact up. Turn the opposite direction (counter-clockwise) to move the POI down. Turn the elevation dial marked R towards the arrow (clockwise) to adjust the POI to the right. Turn the evelation dial the opposite direction (counter-clockwise) to move the POI to the left.
  4. Repeat as necessary until the dot is zeroed to your desired point of impact.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problems thought to be associated with the red dot are often actually associated to mounting issues. Take the time to ensure the screws are properly secured and tightend to 12 inch pounds. It is recommended to recheck the torque regularly as the screws can become loose after shooting. A small amount of a high quality blue thread lock can be utilzed to prevent this issue. Apply the thread lock directly to the threads of the screws and not in the mounting holes.

Keep in mind there are many issues that can cause poor bullet grouping. Always utilize a solid rest and maintain good shooting technique.
Have a qualified gunsmith look over your firearm to be sure all things are in working order. See that the action and barrel are properly cleaned.
Some handguns and ammunition don’t work well together, try different ammunition and see if accuracy improves.
