The 18V EZCLEAN 600 PSI Power Cleaner (RY121850) is a portable and lightweight cleaning tool that can be used for a variety of outdoor cleaning tasks. The power cleaner comes with a spray wand, quick-connect collar, garden hose, latch, lock-out button, and bottle adaptor siphon tube. The power cleaner is powered by a battery and is designed to provide efficient cleaning performance with minimal effort.

Product Usage Instructions

1. Read the operator’s manual carefully before using the product.
2. Make sure all guards are in place and operating properly before each use.
3. Keep children and visitors away from the work area and wear safety glasses.
4. Use the tool only for its intended purpose and do not force it or the attachment to do a job it was not designed for.
5. Dress properly by wearing long pants and sleeves, nonskid footwear, and protective hair covering to contain long hair.
6. Wear protective footwear that will protect your feet and improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
7. Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.
8. Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1.
9. Charge the battery before use and insert it into the power cleaner.
10. Connect the garden hose to the power cleaner and turn on the water supply.
11. Attach the spray wand to the quick-connect collar and adjust the spray pattern as needed.
12. Press the lock-out button and pull the trigger to start cleaning.
13. Release the trigger to stop cleaning.
14. When finished, turn off the water supply and remove the battery from the power cleaner.
15. Clean and maintain the power cleaner as instructed in the operator’s manual.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

• Know your tool. Read the operator’s manual carefully. Learn the machine’s applications and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards related to this tool.
• Keep guards in place and in working order. Never operate the tool with any guard or cover removed. Make sure all guards are operating properly before each use.
• To reduce the risk of injury, keep children and visitors away. All visitors should wear safety glasses and be kept a safe distance from work area.
• Keep the area of operation clear of all persons, particularly small children, and pets.
• Use right tool. Don’t force tool or attachment to do a job it was not designed for. Don’t use it for a purpose not intended. Use of the tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
• Dress properly. Wear long pants and long sleeves. Do not wear loose clothing, neckties, or jewelry. They can get caught and draw you into moving parts. Rubber gloves and nonskid footwear are recommended when working outdoors. Also wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• DO not operate the equipment while barefoot or when wearing sandals or similar lightweight footwear. Wear protective footwear that will protect your feet and improve your footing on slippery surfaces.
• Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.
• Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
• Don’t overreach or stand on a ladder, rooftop, or other unstable support. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Use only recommended accessories. The use of improper accessories may cause risk of injury.
• Follow the maintenance instructions specified in this manual.
• Check damaged parts. Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and any other conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged must be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified service center to avoid risk of personal injury.
• Never leave tool running unattended. Turn the power off and remove the battery pack. Don’t leave tool until it comes to a complete stop.
• Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for safe loading, unloading, transport, and storage of the machine.
• Be thoroughly familiar with controls. Know how to stop the product and bleed pressure quickly.
• Keep the tool dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or any solvents to clean tools.
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inatten-tion while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Check the work area before each use. Remove all objects such as rocks, broken glass, nails, wire, or string which can be thrown or become entangled in the machine.
• Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it off. Have the switch replaced by a qualified service center.
• Before cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, shut off the motor and make certain all moving parts have stopped. Remove the battery pack to prevent accidental starting.
• Avoid dangerous environments. Keep the work area well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Never use in an explosive atmosphere. Normal sparking of the motor could ignite fumes.
• Do not operate while smoking or near an open flame.
• Do not operate around dry brush, twigs, cloth rags, or other flammable materials.
• WARNING: Risk of injection or injury – Do not direct discharge stream at persons.
• Do not allow bystanders or children in the area while operating this product. Exposure to some chemicals can be hazardous.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles and a dust mask. Protect eyes, skin, and lungs against drifting spray and during mixing, filling, and cleaning.
• Store the product out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the product or these instructions to operate the product.
• Use this product in accordance with these instructions and in the manner intended, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the product for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

DANGER:
Risk of fire or explosion. Do not spray flammable liquids such as gasoline. Look for this symbol reference on the container.

WARNING:
Chemicals and chemical fumes can be hazardous and cause serious injury, permanent damage, or death if ingested, inhaled, or splashed in the eyes or on the skin.

WARNING:
Some spray created from products used with the sprayer contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Follow directions on containers of all such products. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, wear approved safety equipment such as face masks that are specially designed to filter out sprays, gloves, and other appropriate protective equipment.

WARNING:
Do not allow conductive or corrosive fluids to get inside the battery pack. If conductive or corrosive fluids are spilled on the battery, refer to the instructions in your battery operator’s manual.

CAUTION:
Keep all body parts out of the spray pattern.

• Never point the power cleaner in the direction of people, pets, or any electrical device.
• Before starting any cleaning operation, close doors and windows. Clear the area to be cleaned of debris, toys, outdoor furniture, or other objects that could create a hazard.
• Never attempt to use the power cleaner if ice has formed in any part of the equipment. Always store indoors to prevent freezing.
• Do not use acids, alkalines, solvents, flammable materials, or industrial-grade solutions in this product. These products can cause physical injuries to the operator and irreversible damage to the machine.
• WARNING: High-pressure jets can be dangerous if subject to misuse. The jet must not be directed at persons, animals, electrical devices, or the machine itself.
• Hold the power cleaner securely with both hands. Expect the trigger handle to move when the trigger is pulled due to reaction forces. Failure to do so could cause a loss of control and injury to yourself and others.
• Never attempt to make any adjustments while the motor is running (except where specifically recommended by the manufacturer).
• Protective covers must always cover rotating parts when the motor is running.
• Check bolts and nuts for looseness before each use. A loose bolt or nut may cause serious motor problems.
• When servicing use only recommended or equivalent replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage.
• ONLY use cold or warm water. Never use water more than 110°F.
• Never spray close to the surface to be cleaned as you can damage the surface.
• Never use water or any liquids to clean or rinse off your product and do not expose the product to rain. Store indoors in a dry area. Corrosive liquids, water, and chemicals can enter the product’s electronic components and/or battery compartment and damage electronic com-ponents and/or the battery pack, which can result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious personal injury. Remove any buildup of dirt and debris by wiping the product clean with a dry cloth occasionally.
• Before using any sanitizer or other spray materials in this sprayer, read the label on its original container thoroughly and follow its directions. Some spray materials are dangerous and should not be used in this sprayer, as they can damage the sprayer and cause serious bodily injury or property damage.
• Do not spray hot or boiling liquids. These can weaken or damage the tool.
• The spray area must be well-ventilated.
• Avoid spraying on windy days. Spray can be accidentally blown onto plants or objects that should not be sprayed.
• Store the sprayer in a secure, well-ventilated indoor space with all accessory containers empty.
• Do not use alcohol-based chemicals.
• Do not use powders or abrasive chemicals.
• Do not use commercial-grade chemicals or chemicals for commercial or industrial purposes. Use only consumer-grade water-based cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
• Do not combine chemicals.
• If this product is used for herbicide/insecticide applications do not re-purpose it for use with disinfectants. Obtain a second nozzle set and tool for dedicated use with disinfectants only. Tools used for herbicide/insecticide applications are regulated under EPA Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act regulations and are considered contaminated.
• Know the contents of the chemical being sprayed. Read all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and container labels provided with the chemical. Follow the chemical manufacturer’s safety instructions. It is a violation of federal law to use an EPA-approved disinfectant in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
• Do not leave residue or spray material in the tool, its accessories, or containers after using the sprayer. Clean after each use.
• Maintain this product. Thoroughly inspect both the inside and outside of the sprayer and examine the components before each use. Check for cracked and deteriorated tanks, leaks, clogged nozzles, and missing or damaged parts. If damaged, have the product repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained products.
• Disconnect the battery from the unit before draining, cleaning, or storing the sprayer. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidental starting.
• Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
• Protect your lungs. Wear a face or dust mask when using the sprayer. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
• Battery tools do not have to be plugged into an electrical outlet; therefore, they are always in operating condition. Be aware of possible hazards when not using your battery tool or when changing accessories. Remove the battery pack when the tool is not in use. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or serious personal injury.
• For outdoor use only.

SPECIFIC RULES FOR BATTERY OPERATION

• Do not use battery-operated appliances in the rain.
• Remove or disconnect the battery before servicing, cleaning, or removing material from the tool.
• Use this product only with batteries and chargers listed in tool/appliance/battery pack/charger correlation supplement 987000-432.
• Store idle appliances – When not in use, tools should be stored indoors in a dry, locked place out of the reach of children.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to the battery pack, picking up, or carrying the appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing an appliance that has the switch on invites accidents.
• Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
• Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the battery pack except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
• When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
• Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265°F may cause an explosion.
• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
• Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
• Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for possible special disposal instructions.
• Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
• Do not place battery tools or their batteries near fire or heat. This will reduce the risk of explosion and possibly injury.
• Batteries can explode in the presence of a source of ignition, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any cordless product in the presence of open flame. An exploded battery can propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with water immediately.
• Do not crush, drop or damage battery pack. Do not use a battery pack or charger that has been dropped or received a sharp blow. A damaged battery is subject to explosion. Properly dispose of a dropped or damaged battery immediately.
• Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short the battery with conducting materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.
• Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in contact with your skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate medical attention. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.
• Do not charge battery tool in a damp or wet location. Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Never service damaged battery packs. Service of bat¬tery packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
• Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others who may use this power tool. If you loan someone this power tool, loan them these instructions also.

MODE CONTROL SELECTOR
Allows adjustments of the pressure and water flow to fit the requirements of your cleaning job. Change the water flow from 0.2 to 0.7 GPM with the push of a button.

POWER SAVING SYSTEM
The power cleaner is equipped with a power-saving feature that allows the motor to stop whenever the trigger is released.

SIPHON HOSE
The siphon hose with filter gives the user complete portability to pull water from any water source like a pool or a 5 gal. bucket of water.

TRIGGER HANDLE
The trigger handle has a gripping surface that provides added control of the spray wand and helps reduce fatigue.

TRIGGER WITH LOCK-OUT
Pulling the trigger releases a stream of water for high-pressure cleaning. The lock-out provides protection against unauthorized use.

ASSEMBLY

UNPACKING
This product requires assembly.

• Carefully remove the product and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the Packing List are included.

WARNING:
Do not use this product if any parts in the Packing List are already assembled to your product when you unpack it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require custom installation. Use of a product that may have been improperly assembled could result in serious personal injury.

• Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
• Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the product.

CONNECTING THE SPRAY WAND TO THE POWER CLEANER See Figure 2.

• Align the arrows and insert the end of the spray wand into the power cleaner and push it until it clicks into place.

• Pull on the spray wand to be certain it is properly secured.

• To remove, press the button on the power cleaner and pull to remove the spray wand.

CONNECTING THE 3-IN-1 NOZZLE TO THE SPRAY WAND See Figure 3.

• Align the arrows and insert the end of the 3-in-1 nozzle into the spray wand and push it until it clicks into place.
• Pull on the 3-in-1 nozzle to be certain it is properly secured.
• To remove, press the button on the wand and pull to remove the 3-in-1 nozzle.

CONNECTING THE SIPHON HOSE OR BOTTLE ADAPTOR TO THE POWER CLEANER See Figure 4.
The siphon hose can be submerged directly into any fresh water source like a lake, pool, or a 5 gal. bucket for maximum portability. The bottle adaptor allows for even more portability when a larger water source isn’t available.

To attach the siphon hose:

• Completely uncoil and straighten the siphon hose to prevent kinks.
• Align the quick-connect collar on the siphon hose to the water inlet on the power cleaner.
• Push the collar onto the water inlet until it clicks securely into place.
• Pull on the hose to be certain it is properly secured.

To attach the bottle adaptor:

• Thread the bottle adaptor siphon tube into the quick connector and tighten it securely.
• Align the bottle adaptor to the water inlet on the power cleaner.
• Pull back the quick-connect collar and install it by pushing the collar onto the water inlet. Release the collar. Pull on the collar to be certain it is secured properly.
• Insert the bottle adaptor siphon tube into a two-liter bottle. Thread the bottle onto the quick connector and tighten it securely.

CONNECTING A GARDEN HOSE TO THE POWER CLEANER See Figure 5.

NOTICE:
Always observe all local regulations when connecting hoses to the water main. Some areas have restrictions against connecting directly to the public drinking water supply to prevent the feedback of chemicals into the drinking water supply. Direct connection through a receiver tank or backflow preventer is usually permitted.

NEVER use hot water. Before connecting a garden hose to the power cleaner:

• Run water through the hose for 30 seconds to clean any debris from the hose.

To connect a garden hose to the power cleaner:

• Completely uncoil the garden hose or remove it completely from reel to prevent kinks.
  NOTE: There must be a minimum of 10 feet of unrestricted hose between the power cleaner intake and the hose faucet or shut-off valve (such as a “Y” shut-off connector).

• Thread the quick connector onto the end of the garden hose.

• Attach the quick connector to the water inlet on the power cleaner.

NOTICE:
Do not run the power cleaner without water supply connected and turned on, as this may damage the high-pressure seals and decrease pump life. Completely unwind the hose from its reel or coil and make sure the hose is not being restricted by tires, rocks, or any other objects that may lessen or prevent water flow to the power cleaner.

OPERATION

• WARNING:
  Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.

• WARNING:
  Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.

• WARNING:
  Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the manufacturer of this product. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.

• WARNING:
  Never direct a water stream toward people or pets, or any electrical device. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury, electric shock, or death.

• WARNING:
  Use safety equipment. Protect your eyes, skin, and lungs while mixing, filling, spraying, and cleaning. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury and damage to property.

• WARNING:
  Always follow the chemical manufacturer’s instructions printed on their product labeling for use, cleaning, and storage. Clean thoroughly after each use, following the instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Chemicals should be stored out of the reach of children. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury. Do not combine chemicals.

• WARNING:

APPLICATIONS

You may use this product for the purpose of cleaning objects like the examples listed below:

INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK See Figures 6 – 7.

WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from your tool when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.

To install:

• Open the battery cover by releasing the latch and opening the cover.
• Insert the battery pack into the product as shown.
• Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is secured in the product before beginning operation.
• Close the battery cover and fasten the latch to secure the cover.

WARNING:
Do not use the power cleaner unless the battery cover is fully closed and latched. NEVER allow water or chemicals to enter the battery compartment.

To remove:

• Unlock and open the battery cover.
• Depress the latches to remove the battery pack.
• Close and secure the battery cover.

WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore, the switch should always be locked with hands-free of the lock-out button when not in use. Remove the battery pack when transporting or carrying the tool to avoid accidental starting, which may result in serious injury.

STARTING AND STOPPING THE POWER CLEANER See Figure 8.

DANGER:
Improper application of cleaning solution can result in SEVERE INJURY or DEATH. Follow CDC and EPA guidelines for cleaning.

• WARNING:
  Risk of fire or explosion. The spray area must be well-ventilated and away from sparks or flames.

• WARNING:
  Hold the power cleaner securely with both hands. Expect the power cleaner to move when the trigger is pulled due to reaction forces. Failure to do so could cause loss of control and injury to yourself and others.

NOTE: Never place or immerse the unit in standing water.

To start:

• Connect to a garden hose, two-liter bottle, or siphon hose with filtered end submerged into water source.
• Install the battery pack.
• Place the lock-out button in the unlocked position.
• Squeeze and hold the trigger to operate.

Start with the nozzle 1–2 ft. away from the cleaning surface and carefully approach the surface just until the desired level of cleaning is achieved. If the spray is too close it can damage the cleaning surface.

To stop:

• Release the trigger to stop the flow of water through the nozzle.
• Place the lock-out button in the locked position.
• Remove the battery pack.

Allows adjustments of the pressure and water flow to fit the requirements of your cleaning job. Adjust the water flow from 0.2 to 0.7 GPM with a press of a button.

• A – Mode control selector

• B – Low flow

• C – Medium flow

• D – High flow

• Press the button to change the setting.

• The LED will toggle from low, to medium, to high, back to low with each press of the button.

SELECTING THE RIGHT NOZZLE FOR THE JOB See Figure 10. Each of the nozzles has a different spray pattern. Before starting any cleaning job, determine the best nozzle for the job. Refer to the Nozzle Selection Guide for more information. Rotate the nozzle until the desired position is selected.

RINSING WITH THE POWER CLEANER See Figure 11.

• Turn off the power cleaner and shut off the water supply.
• Engage the lockout on the trigger by moving the lock-out button to the locked position.
• Rotate the 3-in-1 nozzle to the desired position of the three nozzles.
• Select the right nozzle for the job. See the chart shown earlier in the manual to select the appropriate nozzle.
• Start at the top of the area to be rinsed and work down, overlapping the strokes.

MAINTENANCE

• WARNING:
  To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the product before inspecting, cleaning or performing any maintenance.

• WARNING:
  Always wear eye protection with side shields or goggles marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in fluids entering your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.

• WARNING:
  When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. The use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage.

• WARNING:
  Never use water or any liquids to clean or rinse off your product and do not expose the product to rain. Store indoors in a dry area. Corrosive liquids, water, and chemicals can enter the product’s electronic components and/or battery compartment and damage electronic components and/or the battery pack, which can result in a short circuit, increased risk of fire, and serious personal injury. Remove any buildup of dirt and debris by wiping the product clean with a dry cloth occasionally.

• WARNING:
  Always store and dispose of chemicals properly. Disposal of contaminated rinse water should be performed according to local ordinances and bylaws.

• NOTICE:
  Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or lose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not operate this product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced. Please contact customer service or an authorized service center for assistance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or destroy plastic which could result in serious personal injury.

PUMP LUBRICATION
The pump on this unit is lubricated with a sufficient amount of high-grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further lubrication is required.

STORING THE POWER CLEANER
Store in a dry, covered area where the weather can’t damage it.

It is important to store this product in a frost-free area. Always empty water from all hoses, and the pump, before storing.

• Remove the battery and store in a secure location out of the reach of children.
• Disconnect all hoses. Before removing the battery, press the switch to allow all water to drain from the power cleaner.
• Neatly coil the siphon hose and store it with a power cleaner.
• Press the button on the power cleaner and pull to remove the spray wand. Store the unassembled spray wand and nozzle with the cleaner.
• Store the unit and accessories in an area that does not reach freezing temperatures. Do not store near the furnace or other sources of heat that could dry out the pump seals.
