Safety interlocks

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference. Please keep the sales receipt for guarantee purposes (please see below “Guarantee and Customer Service”) Any use which does not conform to the instructions will absolve IZZY from any liability.

  • Before connecting the appliance, check if the voltage indicated on the appliance, corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
  • Always plug your device into an outlet that is earthed. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in electric shock and possible serious injury.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended when in operation.
  • Close supervision is necessary when your appliance is being used near children. Ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, children or those with lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the supply mains:
    • After each use
    • When you do not use the appliance
    • Before cleaning and maintenance operations
    • Before moving the appliance
  • Never use the appliance for any other use than indicated.
  • The device is intended for indoor use. Do not use the device outdoors.
  • Do not store the appliance outdoors.
  • Always place and store the device in places where children do not have access.
  • The device is intended only for domestic use. Any other use will cancel the warranty.
  • Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance or comes into contact with sharp corners.
  • Do not place the appliance near heat sources, on or next gas or electric hobs.
  • Always use the appliance on a dry, flat surface, resistant to high temperatures. Particular attention is required on surfaces where the temperature can cause problems. In these cases, it is recommended to use additional heat-resistant surface.
  • Do not operate or place the device or parts in places of high humidity or where it may get wet.
  • Never immerse the appliance, the thermostat and the plug-in water or any other liquid to avoid danger of electroshock. The thermostat must not get wet or in contact with water.
  • Never allow the thermostat, the cable or plug get wet. In case the appliance gets wet, immediately unplug the power cord and do not put your hands in the water. Never operate the wet appliance and contact one of the authorized BENRUBI service centers.
  • The appliance should not get in contact with flammable material, as curtains, draperies, walls and the like, when in operation.
  • Always leave enough air space on and around all sides of the appliance for the better circulation of the air.
  • Do not place the oven inside or under cabinets.
  • Misuse of the appliance can cause injury.
  • Do not let the power cord of the appliance hang over the edge of a table or bench edge or where a child can grab it. Do not allow the power cord to touch any warm surface.
  • Do not use the appliance under built-in cabinets.

Attention: The surface of the appliance is hot during operation.

  • Always use the handles and oven gloves to touch the hot surfaces of the appliance or remove food. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance.
  • Make sure you have assembled the appliance correctly before use. Do not use the appliance without the drip tray.
  • Never use metal objects to remove food from the plate, as it may damage its non-stick surface. Use only wooden or plastic spatula.
  • Do not put anything other than your food on the non-stick plate. Do not use the appliance empty without food for baking.
  • Watch out for greasy splashes when cooking thick meat or sausages.
  • NEVER use any plastic container to cook or heat the contents on the appliance. Do not use cardboard, paper or plastic on the device.
  • Never pull the cord to disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply. Instead grasp the plug and pull it to disconnect.
  • Never leave the power cable wrapped during use. Unwind it completely.
  • Never use highly corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
  • Clean the appliance after each use.
  • Make sure to keep the appliance clean. Failure to do so, may result in damage to the device which may result in a reduction in its lifetime and possibly failure.
  • Make sure that the appliance and the plate have cooled down completely before cleaning.
  • Do not move the appliance when it is in operation.
  • Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
  • Do not use an extension power cord.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
  • In case of a possible damage, do not attempt to repair the appliance by yourself. Please contact one of the authorized BENRUBI service centers. Any repair made by an unauthorized BENRUBI Service Center CANCELS THE GUARANTEE.

Before the First Use

  • Do not use the appliance if the drip tray and the thermostat are not fitted.
  • The thermostat (3) must be in the “0” position before use.

NOTE: Smoke and odors may occur during first use.

  1. Clean the appliance and the plate. See the section “Care and Cleaning”.
  2. Connect the thermostat to the socket.
  3. Plug in.
  4. Adjust the thermostat (3) to the maximum temperature “5”.
  5. Leave the appliance on for about 10 minutes.
  6. Turn the thermostat (3) to the “0” position.
  7. Disconnect the appliance from the socket.

This procedure is only necessary for the first use.

Using the Appliance

  • Make sure the thermostat (4) is in the “OFF” position before use.
  1. Place the appliance on a dry, flat surface, resistant to high temperatures.
  2. Plug in the device.
  3. Set the thermostat (3) to the desired temperature. The indicator light will turn on.
  4. Once the appliance has preheated and reached the desired temperature, the indicator light will turn off. During operation, the temperature indicator light flashes at intervals to maintain the correct temperature.
  5. Place the food on the plate (1).
  6. When you have finished baking, place the thermostat in the “0” position.
  7. Disconnect the appliance from the socket.

Tips for Grilling

  • Allow frozen foods to thaw before baking.
  • Do not use the same cutlery for raw and cooked foods.
  • Always use tweezers and a spatula to turn the meat (using a fork, the meat loses its moisture and damage can occur to the non-stick surface).
  • Never use metal tools to remove food from the plate, as they may damage the non-stick surface. Use only wooden or plastic tools.
  • Do not cut food on the non-stick plate.
  • Better results are achieved when cooking foods of similar thickness. Thinner foods are preferable to thicker ones, as thicker ones may take longer to cook on the inside and may be overcooked on the outside.
  • Meat becomes tender if marinated from the night before it is cooked (marinades are usually made with oil (to keep it juicy), vinegar (to make it soft) and a mixture of spices.
  • Turn the meat and fish once when cooking. You do not need to turn it more often because the meat may dry out. Turn food over with special care in case they splash.
  • Never cook meat for too long in order to be juicy.

Care and Cleaning

Cleaning the appliance every time you use it avoids smoke and unpleasant smell the next time you cook.

  • Before cleaning your appliance, make sure that it is not plugged in and that the appliance has cooled down completely.
  • NEVER immerse the appliance, plate and thermostat in water or other liquid.
  • NEVER use metal cleaners such as wire, brushes and chemicals or corrosive materials to clean the appliance.

External device surface:

  • You can wipe the outside of your appliance with a damp cloth or kitchen paper.

Baking plate:

  • Wipe the plate with a damp cloth and dish detergent. Wipe with a clean, soft, damp cloth and dry with a towel.
  • Do not use wire or hard sponges to clean the plates as there may be damage the non-stick coating.
  • Do not use cleaning tools or powders that may damage or scratch the special non-stick coating.
  • Make sure the parts of the appliance you have cleaned are well dried before using it again.
  • Do not immerse in water.

Drip tray:

  • Wash in hot soapy water.
  • Dru well.
  • Do not wash in the dishwasher

Storing the Appliance

Make sure the appliance has cooled down before storage.

  • Make sure the appliance is dry and clean before storage.
  • Store the appliance in a clean, cool and dry place inside its box or so that it is protected from dust.
  • Before using the appliance after a long time, make sure it is clean and dry.
  • Store the device out of the reach of children

As a reminder of the need to dispose of household devices separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

  • The warranty does not cover damages resulting from normal wear, breakage, improper installation or maintenance of the product, mishandling, abnormal working conditions, failure to implement the instructions, conversion or repair of the product by an unauthorized technician who does not belong to the BENRUBI Service Centers.

Also, the warranty does not cover the following indicative factors:

  • Stains, discoloration or scratches.
  • Burns due to exposure to heat or flame.
  • Damage from thermal shock (sudden temperature change or change of voltage).
