Tradedor Key Switch & Rocker Switch,2022/1

The Tradedor Key Switch & Rocker Switch, 2022/1 is a set of two switches designed for use with garage doors. The Key Switch is used to open and close the garage door by inserting and turning a key. The Rocker Switch is a simple on/off switch that can be used to control the garage door. Both switches come with wiring instructions and can be installed on the wall near the garage door.

Installation Guide

Installing Key Switch
  1. To install the Key Switch, remove the screw from the front and rotate the key a quarter turn. Pull the front away to reveal the wiring underneath.
  2. If you have a safety brake with a cable, run the two-core cable from the safety brake end across to the same end as the Key Switch, making sure to securely fix the cable out of the way of the working mechanism.
  3. Remove the plastic connector with switch terminals and drill holes in the bottom of the Key Switch case to allow the wires to be inserted (motor wire, power wire, safety brake if supplied).
  4. Make sure the case is positioned correctly and mark the fixing positions. Then drill and fix the case to the wall.
  5. Connect the Key Switch terminal wiring according to fig.2 and fig.3.
    • Earth Wiring: Connect inside switch case Earth wire Power (green/yellow) to Earth wire Motor (green/ yellow) and Earth wire Case (green/yellow) (fig.4).
    • Neutral Wiring (No safety brake): Connect inside switch case neutral wire power (blue) to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.4).
    • Neutral Wiring (with safety brake): (1) Connect inside case neutral wire power (blue) to blue wire safety brake, (2) Connect brown wire safety brake to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.5).
  6. Replace the front of the Key Switch and re-insert screw. Then test. If limits have not been set, these will need to be completed.

Installing Rocker Switch

  1. To install the Rocker Switch, undo the screws in each corner.
  2. If you have a safety brake with a cable, run the two-core cable from the safety brake end across to the same end as the Key Switch, making sure to securely fix the cable out of the way of the working mechanism.
  3. Cut the rubber at the bottom of the Rocker Switch case to allow the wires to be inserted (motor wire, power wire, safety brake if supplied).
  4. Make sure the case is positioned correctly and mark the fixing positions. Then drill and fix the case to the wall.
  5. Connect the Rocker Switch terminal wiring according to fig.7.
    • Earth Wiring: Connect inside switch case Earth wire Power (green/yellow) to Earth wire Motor (green/ yellow) and Earth wire Case (green/yellow) (fig.4).
    • Neutral Wiring (No safety brake): Connect inside switch case neutral wire power (blue) to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.4).
    • Neutral Wiring (with safety brake): (1) Connect inside case neutral wire power (blue) to blue wire safety brake, (2) Connect brown wire safety brake to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.5).
  6. Replace the front of the Rocker Switch and re-insert screws.
    Then test. If limits have not been set, these will need to be completed.

Product Installing Key Switch

  1. To open the key switch remove screw from front then rotate key a quarter turn and pull the front away to reveal the wiring underneath (fig.1).

  2. If you have a safety brake with a cable then run the two core cable from the safety brake end across to the same end as the Key Switch, making sure to securely fix the cable out of the way of the working mechanism.

  3. Remove plastic connector with switch terminals in (fig.2) and then drill holes in the bottom of the key switch case to allow the wires to be inserted, (1) motor wire (2) power wire (3) safety brake if supplied.

  4. Making sure the case is positioned the correct way up and square (the case is marked top) proceed to mark the fixing positions, then drill and fix the case to the wall.

  5. Key switch terminal wiring (fig.2 & fig.3);

    • Right Block 13 – Motor up wire (left hand motor black / right hand motor brown).
    • Left Block 14 – Motor down wire (left-hand motor brown / right hand motor black).
    • Right Block 14 – Brown wire from power supply & one end of link wire.
    • Left Block 13 – Link wire from Right Block 14.
  6. Earth wiring: Connect inside switch case Earth wire Power (green/yellow) to Earth wire Motor (green/yellow) and Earth wire Case (green/yellow) (fig.4).3 Cut the rubber at the bottom of the rocker switch

  7. Neautral Wiring (No safety brake) – connect inside switch case neutral wire power (blue) to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.4).
    Neutral Wiring (with safety brake) – (1) connect in-side case neutral wire power (blue) to blue wire safety brake, (2) connect brown wire safety brake to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.5).

  8. Replace the front of key switch and re-insert screw then test, if limits have not been set then these will need to be completed.

Product Installing Rocker Switch

  1. To open rocker switch please undo the screws in each corner (fig.6).
  2. If you have a safety brake with a cable then run the two core cable from the safety brake end across to the same end as the Key Switch, making sure to securely fix the cable out of the way of the working mechanism.
  3. Cut the rubber at the bottom of the rocker switch case to allow the wires to be inserted, (1) motor wire (2) power wire (3) safety brake if supplied.
  4. Making sure the case is positioned the correct way up and square (rubber gland coming out of the bottom), proceed to mark the fixing positions, drill and then fix the case to the wall (fig.6).
  5. Rocker switch terminal wiring (fig.7);
    • Terminal 4 – Motor open wire (left-hand motor black/right-hand motor brown).
    • Terminal 3 – Motor close wire (left-hand motor brown/right hand motor black).
    • Terminal 5 – Brown live wire from power supply. Fit link wire from 5-2.
  6. Earth wiring: Connect inside switch case Earth wire Power (green/yellow) to Earth wire Motor (green/yellow) and Earth wire Case (green/yellow) (fig.4).
  7. Neautral Wiring (No safety brake) – connect inside switch case neutral wire power (blue) to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.4).
  8. Neutral Wiring (with safety brake) – (1) connect inside case neutral wire power (blue) to blue wire safety brake, (2) connect brown wire safety brake to neutral wire motor (blue) (fig.5).
  9. Replace the front of rocker switch and re-insert screws then test, if limits have not been set then these will need to be completed.
