CASIO DR-120R Calculator
Product Information
The DR-120R, DR-210R, and DR-270R are calculators that come with an input buffer that can hold up to 16 key operations, allowing users to continue inputting even while another operation is being processed. The DR-210R and DR- 270R also have a backup battery. The calculators have a switch for toggling between printing and non-printing modes. They also have a power-off function that triggers after about 30 minutes of non-operation. The calculators are available in English, Spanish, and French.
Product Usage Instructions
Power Supply
Make sure the power plug is connected to the calculator before use. The auto power-off function will be triggered after about 30 minutes of non-operation. To restore power, turn the Function Selector to OFF then ON or hold down the v(ON) button. If you are using the DR-210R or DR-270R, make sure to replace the back-up battery when the low battery icon appears. If you experience any unusual symptoms while using the calculator, such as skin irritation or a strange odor, stop using it immediately and consult with your physician.
Input Buffer
The input buffer of this calculator holds up to 16 key operations, allowing you to continue inputting even while another operation is being processed.
Replacing the Back-up Battery
If you are using the DR-210R or DR-270R, follow these steps to replace the backup battery:
- Insert a thin, pointed non-metal object (such as a toothpick) into the hole and remove the old battery. Do not use a lead pencil.
- Wipe off the surface of a new battery with a soft, dry cloth.
- Load the new battery into the calculator so that its positive (+) side is facing up.
- After confirming that the power plug is connected, press the RESET button.
Replacing the Printer Ribbon
To replace the printer ribbon, use a Type RB-02-A (black/red) ribbon and follow these steps:
- Open the printer cover.
- Remove the old ribbon by pulling it out to the left.
- Install the new ribbon by inserting it from the right side and pressing it down until it clicks into place.
- Close the printer cover.
Switching between Printing and Non-Printing Modes
The calculator has a switch for toggling between printing and non-printing modes. To switch to printing mode, set the ITEM switch to PRINT. To switch to non-printing mode, set the ITEM switch to OFF or ON.
Decimal Place Selector
The calculator has a Decimal Place Selector that allows you to set the number of decimal places displayed. You can choose from several options including F (floating decimal), CUT (cut off to the number of decimal places specified by the Decimal Place Selector setting), UP (round up to the number of decimal places specified by the Decimal Place Selector setting), and 5/4 (cut off or round up to the number of decimal places specified by the Decimal Place Selector setting).
Example Calculation
Here is an example calculation:

To print the current memory contents after FULL appears, press the ITEM switch to PRINT.

Important Precautions
- Paper jams are indicated by “P–Error”. Correct the problem as soon as possible.
- If an ongoing printing operation stops, press v or the RESET button to clear. This may result in the printing of random characters.
- Wipe the calculator with a soft, dry cloth to clean it.
- Switch power off after use or if you do not plan to use the calculator. It is best to unplug from the AC outlet if you do not plan to use the calculator for a long time.

Power Supply
Auto Power Off Function
Triggered after about 30 minutes of non-operation. To restore power: Function
Selector to OFF then ON, or hold down v(ON).
Back-up Battery (DR-210R, DR-270R)
Your calculator comes with a single built-in CR2032 lithium battery that
provides power to retain values stored in memory when the calculator is not
plugged in to an AC power outlet. You will need to replace the backup battery
about once every 22 months to maintain memory contents if you leave the
calculator without power. · Keep battery away from small children. If
swallowed consult with your physician immediately.
RESET Button
- Pressing the RESET button causes memory to be cleared. Be sure to keep separate records of all important settings and numeric data to protect against accidental loss.
- Press the RESET button on the back of the calculator to restore normal operation whenever the calculator does not operate correctly. If pressing the RESET button does not restore normal operation, contact your original retailer or nearby dealer.

After Print, Reprint
- Press j to print operations and calculation results. The first line of a j operation will be “· · · · 0 · · · ·”. – You can reprint data that has already been printed. (Reprint) – You can print a calculation, even if printing was turned off when you performed it. (After Print)
- To stop printing, press j again or v. · If you change the Function Selector position during a calculation, pressing j will not print the calculation. In this case, pressing j will display no Print”.
- After performing the tax rate setting or display operation, j is disabled until you press v.
- If the message “FULL” appears when you press j, it means that calculation memory is full. – Calculation memory can hold up to 150 steps (Example: 1+ is one step, 1+2+ is two steps.) –
- To print current memory contents after “FULL” appears, press again. The first line of the printout will show l· · · 1 · 150 · · · l. – To return the calculator to its state before you pressed j above without printing, press c.
ITEM OFF ON PRINT + +/-

- OFF: Power is off.
- ON: Power is on, but no printing is performed except when: is pressed to print a reference number. Calculations appear on the display only.
- PRINT: Power is on and printing is activated. Calculations also appear on the display.
- ITEM+: Power is on and printing is activated. The total number of addition and subtraction items is printed with the result when: and & are pressed. Pressing the G key prints the number of items (number of & key operations) added to the grand total memory. Pressing the E or y key prints the total number of q and w key operations up to that point along with the value stored in the independent memory.
- ITEM+/: Power is on and printing is activated. The total number of addition items less the total number of subtraction items is printed with the result when: and & are pressed. Pressing the G key prints the number of items (number of & key operations) added to the grand total memory.
- Pressing the E or y key prints the total number of q key operations less the total number of w key operations up to that point along with the value stored in the independent memory.
- To use the Decimal Place Selector, the Decimal Mode Selector must be set to any position other than “F”. 6, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0: Specify the number of decimal places. ADD2+: During addition and subtraction calculations, automatically adds two decimal places to the input value, even if you do not press .1. ADD2x: During addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations, automatically adds two decimal places to the input value2, even if you do not press .1. 1 If you want to specify a location for the decimal point, press The “a” value in the case of a constant calculation such as a×b or a÷b. The “b” value in the case of a non-constant calculation such as a×b or a÷b.

When the Decimal Place Selector setting is ADD2+ or ADD2x, the result of a calculation is cut off, rounded up, or rounded off (to the nearest whole number) to two decimal places in accordance with the Decimal Mode Selector setting.

during an addition or subtraction calculation prints the intermediate result
up to that point. · Pressing & prints the result (total) and adds it to grand
total memory. This also automatically clears the result, so you can start the
