FAQs
Is this product CE approved?****
Yes it is.
Is this product a clinical thermometer?****
Yes it is.
What are the materials used to make this thermometer?****
The materials used to make this thermometer are plastic and metal.
How do I clean the thermometer?****
You can clean the thermometer with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Can I use this thermometer on my baby’s forehead?****
Yes, you can but make sure that the baby does not have any fever before using the thermometer.
Where is the most accurate place for a no-touch thermometer?****
Ear and forehead infrared thermometers, both in-ear/on-forehead and contactless, are accurate enough to properly track a fever and are generally easier to use than stick thermometers
How many degrees do you add to a no-touch thermometer?****
If using a fixed emissivity infrared thermometer, one could measure the temperature in the center of the forehead, and then add 5 degrees Fahrenheit to estimate the oral equivalent.
How do you get the most accurate reading from a no-touch thermometer?****
Brush any bangs or hair to the side to fully expose the forehead. Remove any hats or headbands (and wait a few minutes for the forehead to cool). Gently pat away any perspiration (as microdroplets of perspiration in the pores can actually lead to a lower temperature reading).
Why is my touchless forehead thermometer not working?****
Replacing the batteries with new fresh batteries will solve most difficulties. Erratic readings, faint readings, no display, or appearing on the display are all indications that the batteries must be replaced.
Do you add a degree to a no-touch forehead thermometer?****
A temporal thermometer will read at about 0.5 to 1 degree lower than an oral thermometer, so you need to add 0.5 to 1 degree to get what your temperature would read orally. For example, if your forehead temperature read as 98.5°F, you could actually have a low-grade fever of 99.5°F or higher
How reliable are forehead thermometers?****
This type of thermometer may be less accurate than other types. Direct sunlight, cold temperatures or a sweaty forehead can affect temperature readings. Variations on user technique, such as holding the scanner too far away from the forehead, also may affect accuracy.
What is the adjustment for a forehead thermometer?****
A forehead (temporal) scanner is usually 0.3 C (0.5 F) to 0.6 C (1 F) lower than an oral temperature.
