Frontpoint ADC-V723 Outdoor Camera

OVERVIEW

The Outdoor Camera is a powerful tool for home security and awareness, equipping you with world-class features:

  • Two-Way Audio to talk with visitors outside your home
  • Smart notifications and clip recordings based on Video Analytics
  • Smart intruder-deterrence based on your configuration of the new Video Analytics Rule, “Perimeter Guard™”

In the following pages of this manual, we guide you through the three-part setup process:

  1. Wi-Fi setup to connect the Outdoor Camera to your Frontpoint account
  2. Installation to mount the camera in the desired outdoor location
  3. Video Analytics configuration, including Perimeter Guard™

For reference on usage and the camera’s LED colors, please refer to pages 8 and 9.

Wi-Fi SETUP

To complete the setup, you will need a smartphone and a
2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
To add the Outdoor Camera to your Frontpoint account, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect your camera to the AC power adapter and plug it into an indoor outlet near your router, if possible.
    You will move and mount the camera after Wi-Fi Setup is complete.

  2. Log in to the Frontpoint mobile app on your smartphone. The camera boot-up takes about 25 seconds. When the Status LED is blinking white, the camera is ready to continue.
    If the Status LED is not blinking white after boot up, press and hold the Reset button for about 6 seconds or until the Status LED begins to blink white.

  3. Open the menu ( ) in the Frontpoint mobile app.
    • Select “Add Device”
    • Select “Video Camera”
    • Select “ADC-V724”

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions until the installation completes successfully.
    During the setup, you will be asked to connect to a temporary network that resembles ADC-V724 (XX:XX:XX).
    The Xs are representative of the last six digits of the camera’s MAC address, located on the bottom of the camera body. When firmware updates are available, the installation can take up to 15 minutes.
    When the Status LED turns solid green, the camera is successfully connected to your Wi-Fi.

  5. Tap “Next” to begin configuration for your camera’s recording behavior.

  6. When prompted to “place” your camera, follow the mounting instructions on the next page before completing the “Additional Set Up”.

MOUNTING

You will need a power drill, a drill bit (see anchor installation options), the included mounting sticker, wall anchors, and screws.

To mount the Outdoor Camera, follow the steps below:

  1. Choose a mounting location.
    It is best to use an indoor outlet or a locked waterproof outdoor outlet.
    The outlet needs to be within 14 feet of your mounting location.

  2. Peel off the backside of the included mounting sticker, exposing the adhesive.

  3. Apply the mounting sticker where you intend to mount the camera. The sticker serves as a template to drill the holes in the next step.

  4. Prepare your power drill and drill into each of the three targets (  ). See options A and B below: Wall anchor installation is recommended when installing screws into drywall or brick. Wall anchors may not be necessary when installing screws into wood.
    A. Wall anchor installation
    • Use a 1/4” drill bit to drill 1 1/2” deep holes at each target ( ) from the mounting template.
    • Insert a wall anchor into each hole B. Non-wall anchor installation
    • Use a 5/32” drill bit to drill 1” deep holes at each target ( ) from the mounting template.

  5. Route the Outdoor Camera’s power cable using either of the techniques below:
    A. Through the wall
    • Drill a hole through the center of the template ( )all the way until reaching the other side of the wall.
    • Gently remove the mounting sticker and discard.
    • Pull the power cable through the hole and connect it to the AC power adapter cable.
    B. On the wall
    • Gently remove the mounting sticker and discard.
    • Align the rubber insert channel (pre-installed) with the channel in the camera base and route the cable through both.

  6. Hold the Outdoor Camera so the base aligns with the three drilled holes, and install a screw in each.
    The camera body may need to be rotated or shifted to reach the screw locations with a power drill.

  7. When the camera is mounted and secure, proceed to configure Video Analytics within the prompted “Additional Set Up”.
    Perimeter Guard™, a feature powered by Video Analytics, enables functionality for smart intruder- deterrence and can be configured within the setup for Video Analytics.

USAGE GUIDE

After securely mounting and positioning your camera, you’re ready to use your camera! Access live video and saved clips, Two-Way Audio, and adjust the Video Analytics configuration in the Frontpoint mobile app.

LIVE AND SAVED VIDEO
Tap “Video” in the left-hand menu.

  • In the “Live” menu, tap the play button in the video window to view live video.
  • In the “Saved” menu, tap a video clip to review your recording.

TWO-WAY AUDIO
Open your camera’s live video window in full screen.

  • Tap the play button ( ).
  • Select the full-screen icon ( ).
  • To speak through the camera, press and hold the microphone button. Release the button to listen.
  • Mute or unmute incoming audio by toggling the speaker button. OR

VIDEO ANALYTICS
While video analytics rules are encouraged to be created during the initial setup, they can be set up or modified at any time. To create video analytics rules, follow the steps below:

  1. Select “Video” in the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the gear in the upper right corner ( ).
  3. Select “Recording Rules”.
  4. Select “Add New Rule”.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

LED REFERENCE GUIDE

  • Blinking red – Powered on and boot up is in progress.

  • Blinking white – Ready to connect to Wi-Fi.

  • Solid green – Ready to use and working normally.

  • Solid red – Trouble connecting to Wi-Fi.

  • Blinking red & green – Factory reset in progress.

The camera should be factory reset if there are issues during set up or anytime the camera is not operating as expected.
To factory reset the Outdoor Camera:

  • Press and hold the Reset button for about 15 seconds or until the LED blinks red and green
  • Release the Reset button. The camera will reboot.

WARNING: A factory reset restores factory-default settings. The camera may need to be removed from your Frontpoint system and re-added when the reset is complete.
