This picture explains how to use quick use of this Rowenta DE5010 Freemove Steam Iron, In just 40 seconds, it is ready to use and offers continuous steam upon request. High steam production is ideal for heavier materials and subborn creases.

- Remove any remaining water from the iron and set it to the “ Cotton ” setting.
- The ironing board with an old cloth and two folded white and green cloths are placed side by side.
- Put about 2 inches of cleaner on the white cloth, then circulate the iron over it. Clean iron is used.

Do place the steam iron on its given stand.

By pressing the steam button, you can activate the steam iron and change the temperature. Slide the iron back and forth for pressing the clothes.
There is also a button for using water to press the garments. Avoid using the iron directly on yourself or others as this could result in serious injury. You should also avoid using it on clothes that are hanging, such as shirts, coats, etc.
After pressing all of the clothing, turn off the iron and drain the water tank you filled at the beginning. And then, using this steam iron that you have provided, fold the iron wire along its support before setting the iron on it.

- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- The appliance must not be used if it has fallen to the floor, shows evidence of damage, leaks, or fails to function correctly. Never dismantle your appliance. To avoid any danger, have it inspected in an approved service center.
- The surfaces which are marked with this sign and the soleplate are very hot during the use of the appliances. Don’t touch these surfaces before the iron is cooled down.
- If the electric power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an Approved Service Centre in order to prevent any danger.
IMPORTANT RECOMMANDATIONS
- The voltage of your electrical installation must correspond to that of the iron (220-240V). Always plug your iron into an earthed socket. Connecting to the wrong voltage may cause irreversible damage to the iron and will invalidate the guarantee.
- If you are using a mains extension lead, ensure that it is corrected rated (16A) with earth, and is fully extended.
- Do not unplug your appliance by pulling on the cord.
- Never immerse your steam iron in water or any other liquid. Never hold it under the water tap.
- Never touch the electric cord with the soleplate of the iron.
- Your appliance gives off steam, which may cause burns, especially when you are ironing close to the edge of your ironing board.
- Never direct the steam towards people or animals.
- For your safety, this appliance conforms to the applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Environmental Directives).

What water to use?
Your appliance has been designed to function with untreated tap water. If your water is very hard (check with your local water authority), it is possible to mix untreated tap water with store-bought distilled or demineralized water in the following proportions: – 50% tap water, – 50% distilled or demineralized water. However, it is necessary to operate the Self-clean function regularly in order to eliminate hard water deposits from the steam chamber. Use the Self-clean function approximately every 2 weeks. Types of water not to use?
Heat concentrates the elements contained in water during evaporation. The types of water listed below contain organic waste or mineral elements that can cause spitting, brown staining, or premature wear of the appliance: water from clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries, or air conditioners, pure distilled or demineralized water or rainwater should not be used in your Rowenta iron. Also do not use boiled, filtered, or bottled water.

You have ironed over a printed area of a garment.| Never iron over printed
areas or applications – always iron the reverse side of such a garment.

The soleplate is scratched or damaged.| You have placed your iron flat on a

Important notice for ≥ 2400W models only:
Under unfavorable main conditions, phenomena like transient voltage drops or lighting fluctuations can happen. Therefore, it is recommended that the iron is connected to a power supply system with a maximum impedance of 0,29 Ω. If necessary, the user can ask the public power supply company for the system impedance at the interface point.

How long should a Rowenta steam iron last?
I’ve had 2 Rowenta irons in the past and they both lasted about 5 to 6 years with everyday use.
How long does Rowenta iron take to heat up?
Set the thermostat control to Max and the steam control to DRY and switch it on. Place the iron on its heel and leave it to heat up for around 5 minutes.
What is the best water to use in a Rowenta steam iron?
Rowenta irons are designed to be used with REGULAR TAP WATER (up to 12 grains of hardness). If your water is harder than this, Rowenta recommends mixing half tap water with half bottled spring water which reduces the hardness; or just use bottled spring water.
Do Rowenta irons turn off automatically?
If the iron is not moved while it is plugged in, an internal safety switch will turn it off. It will turn off in 8 minutes if left vertically or in 30 seconds if left on its soleplate or tipped over. A red flashing light indicates that the auto-off has been activated.
Why is my Rowenta iron not staying hot?
