1 – INTRODUZIONE

Prima di eseguire qualsiasi operazione sulla macchina, l’utilizzatore deve
leggere attentamente le istruzioni contenute in questa pubblicazione e
seguirle per tutti gli interventi.
In caso di dubbio sulla corretta interpretazione delle istruzioni, contattare

1.2 Informazioni generali
Questo manuale è una parte essenziale del macinacaffè istantaneo L70M – L70D; quindi è importante leggere attentamente le avvertenze e le precauzioni allegate. In particolare prestare attenzione alla sicurezza durante l’installazione, la messa in funzione, l’uso e la pulizia. Si prega di conservare questo manuale utente in un luogo sicuro dove possa essere reso disponibile a tutti gli utilizzatori dell’ apparecchio. La descrizione del macinacaffè istantaneo riportata di seguito è di natura generale e può quindi non comprendere tutti i dettagli sui vari componenti.

riflette lo stato dell’apparecchio al momento della fornitura. MACAP s.r.l. si

Trasporto e movimentazione
Durante la movimentazione dell’apparecchio prendere le opportune precauzioni
per evitare che possa cadere, danneggiando persone, animali e cose, oltre il
macinacaffè in sé.
Durante la movimentazione del prodotto nell’imballo, verificare di rispettare
la scritta
“ALTO” (identificata dal simbolo ) presente sull’imballo.
Non capovolgere l’apparecchio durante la movimentazione. Maneggiare con cura.
Il costruttore non può essere considerato responsabile di danni causati da una
movimentazione incauta o che non rispetti le indicazioni fornite.

L70M – L70D
La garanzia non copre: tutte le parti soggette ad usura le parti danneggiate
per manomissione da personale non autorizzato dall’azienda le parti
danneggiate per uso improprio del prodotto.
Eventuali resi dovranno essere preventivamente autorizzati dalla nostra
azienda e spediti a carico del cliente. I resi saranno considerati in garanzia
solo dopo la verifica della merce rientrata.
1.4 Istruzioni di sicurezza
1. Non lasciare gli elementi dell’imballo (sacchetti di plastica, polistirolo
espanso, chiodi, cartone, ecc.) alla portata dei bambini, poiché questi
elementi sono potenziali fonti di pericolo.
2. Installare la macchina su una superficie piana ed idrorepellente
(laminato, acciaio, ceramica, ecc.) lontana da fonti di calore (forno, piano
cottura, caminetto, ecc.) e in condizioni in cui la temperatura non possa
scendere sotto i 5° C.
3. Non lasciare la macchina esposta ad intemperie o posizionata in ambienti
umidi.
4. Conservare la macchina imballata in un luogo asciutto, non esposto agli
agenti atmosferici e in condizioni in cui la temperatura non scenda al di
sotto dei 5° C.
5. Non posizionare oggetti pesanti sulla confezione. 6. In caso di emergenza,
come incendio, rumori insoliti, surri-
scaldamento, ecc., intervenire immediatamente, scollegando l’alimentazione
elettrica. 7. L’installazione e la riparazione devono essere conformi ai
codici e alle normative di sicurezza elettrica locali. 8. L’installazione del
macinacaffè istantaneo deve essere eseguita dopo aver letto e compreso la
presente pubblicazione 9. Questo apparecchio è sicuro solo quando è stato
correttamente collegato ad un efficiente sistema di messa a terra.

10. Verificare che i dati sulla targa dati corrispondano a quelli della
rete elettrica principale a cui sarà collegata il prodotto. Prima
di collegare l’apparecchio alla rete elettrica, assicurarsi che la
tensione e la frequenza dello stesso siano rispondenti a quelli
della rete elettrica locale. I dati elettrici sono indicati nella targa
dati dell’apparecchio.
11. Si sconsiglia l’uso di accessori come adattatori, schede multiple o prolunghe non raccomandate dal produttore dell’apparecchio in quanto potrebbero causare lesioni.
12. Non utilizzare questa macchina se il cavo, la spina o qualsiasi
altra parte presenta danni o se la macchina non funziona cor-
rettamente. Restituire la macchina al centro di assistenza autorizzato più
vicino per la verifica, la riparazione o la regolazione. Il cavo di
alimentazione non deve essere sostituito dall’utente.
13. Questo apparecchio è stata progettato al solo scopo di macinare
caffè in grani. Tutti gli altri usi sono inappropriati e pericolosi. Il
produttore non sarà ritenuto responsabile per eventuali danni causati da un
uso improprio.
14. Per proteggersi da scosse elettriche quando si utilizza qualsiasi
apparecchio elettrico, incluso il macinacaffè istantaneo L70M L70D:
a. Non immergere il macinacaffè, il cavo e le spine in acqua o altri liquidi e
non lasciare che le parti interne della macchina
vengano a contatto con liquidi. b. Evitare che il cavo di alimentazione venga
allungato o tirato. c. Non utilizzare l’apparecchio con le mani o piedi
bagnati. d. Non consentire a bambini o persone non addestrate di utiliz-
zare l’apparecchio. e. Non azionare il macinacaffè a piedi nudi. f.
Predisporre un sezionatore automatico alla rete elettrica che
alimenta l’apparecchio. g. Non rovesciare liquidi sulla parte superiore della
macchina. h. La macchina non deve essere esposta a elementi quali luce
solare, pioggia, neve, temperature estreme ecc. 15. Utilizzare sempre ricambi
e accessori certificati e prodotti da
MACAP s.r.l.
16. Prima di eseguire qualsiasi pulizia o manutenzione, spegnere la macchina tramite l’interruttore di alimentazione e scollegare la macchina dall’alimentazione elettrica.

17. Se la macchina non funziona in modo corretto o smette di fun-
zionare, spegnerla immediatamente e scollegarla dall’alimenta-
zione elettrica. Non tentare di ripararla ma contattare un tecnico
autorizzato e qualificato MACAP s.r.l. Qualsiasi riparazione deve
essere eseguita dal produttore o da un rivenditore autorizzato
utilizzando solo parti originali.
18. L’apparecchio non deve essere utilizzato da persone (compresi i bambini)
con ridotte capacità fisiche, sensoriali o mentali, o con mancanza di
esperienza e conoscenza, a meno che non abbiano
ricevuto supervisione o istruzione.
19. Tenere l’apparecchio e il relativo cavo fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
20. I bambini non devono giocare con l’apparecchio.
21. Non tirare il cavo di alimentazione per scollegare l’apparecchio dall’alimentazione.
22. Per garantire il corretto funzionamento ed efficienza della macchina è
necessario attenersi alle indicazioni del costruttore,
effettuando le operazioni di pulizia e manutenzione ordinaria.
23. Non togliere (disinserire/sganciare) mai la tramoggia o il relativo coperchio durante la macinatura.
24. La macchina è dotata di protezione termica del motore, nel caso in cui questa intervenga con conseguente blocco della macinatura, staccare la spina dalla rete di alimentazione ed attendere almeno un’ora prima di riutilizzarla.
25. Si ricorda che l’apparecchio è destinato all’uso professionale
e non domestico pertanto solo persone qualificate ne possono fare uso.
26. L’apparecchio non è impermeabile, quindi posizionarlo lontano da getti d’acqua o luoghi particolarmente umidi. Non lavare l’apparecchio con getti d’acqua o pulitori a vapore.

2 – DISIMBALLAGGIO
L’addetto all’installazione dell’apparecchio deve, prima di procedere, leggere
queste istruzioni e, in particolare, le sezioni precedenti riguardanti
le informazioni generali e le
prescrizioni di sicurezza.
2.1 Contenuto della confezione
Il macinacaffè istantaneo viene fornito alloggiato in una scatola di cartone.
All’apertura verificare la presenza dei vari componenti (fig. 2.1). 1

Il peso della macchina a vuoto è indicato direttamente sull’imballo o è
visibile sulla targhetta di marcatura “CE” applicata sotto la macchina (1 –
fig. 2.2). La macchina imballata deve essere protetta in un locale riparato e
privo di umidità fino a quando non viene installata in un ambiente adatto.
Dopo la rimozione dell’imballo è necessario verificare che i vari componenti
siano in perfette condizioni e che non vi siano tracce di manomissioni, parti
danneggiate, ecc. Sarà inoltre necessario verificare che la macchina sia
completa di tutte le sue parti, degli eventuali accessori e della
documentazione tecnica come da documentazione di trasporto.
Prima di procedere con l’installazione, nel caso in cui vengano riscontrate
anomalie nei controlli alla consegna, segnalare i rilievi al costruttore.

Gli elementi d’imballaggio (sacchetti di plastica, polistirolo espanso,
cartoni, ecc…) non devono essere lasciati alla portata di bambini in quanto
potenziali fonti di pericolo. Tali elementi vanno smaltiti secondo le regole
locali vigenti

3 – DESCRIZIONE DEL
MACINACAFFÈ ISTANTANEO
3.1 Destinazione ed uso previsto
Questa tipologia di apparecchi è destinata ad applicazioni commerciali, ad
esempio bar, ristoranti, caffetterie, pasticcerie ecc, ma non alla produzione
di massa continua di cibo. Quest’apparecchio è concepito esclusivamente per
macinare caffè in grani. Ogni altro uso è da considerarsi non idoneo e quindi
pericoloso.
Il costruttore non può essere ritenuto responsabile per eventuali danni causati a persone o cose a causa di un uso improprio, erroneo o irrazionale della macchina
L’operatore deve sempre seguire le indicazioni contenute in questo manuale. In caso di guasto o se la macchina non funziona correttamente, spegnerla e non tentare alcuna riparazione. Contattare il centro assistenza.

4 – INSTALLAZIONE
Non utilizzare né installare in prossimità di getti d’acqua.

4.1 Installazione tramoggia caffè
Prima di installare la tramoggia caffè e relativo coperchio lavarli con
abbondante acqua e detersivo neutro per rimuovere eventuali residui di
lavorazione.
4.2 Alimentazione elettrica
Prima di collegare la macchina assicurarsi che i dati della targhetta di
identificazione siano conformi a quelli della rete di distribuzione elettrica
locale (vedi fig._2.2).
Posizionare la tramoggia (1 – fig._4.3), corret-
tamente e stabilmente all’interno del collarino, con la ventola inserita (2)
ed avvitare la vite di sicurezza posizionata a destra (3 fig._4.3)
L’impianto di messa a terra deve essere realizzato secondo quanto previsto
dalla normativa vigente.
Prima di allacciare l’apparecchio alla rete elettrica, verificare che
l’interruttore sia spento, e che quindi si trovi in posizione zero (O – OFF –

5 – FUNZIONAMENTO
DEL MACINACAFFÈ ISTANTANEO
Si presume che la macchina sia stata installata correttamente.
5.1 Preparazione del macinacaffè
Rimuovere il coperchio della tramoggia caffè (1 – fig._5.1) ed introdurre il caffè in grani. Richiudere il coperchio.

Disporre l’eventuale cavo in eccesso sul piano di lavoro, in modo che non
possa essere tirato dai bambini né essere causa di inciampo
Nel caso in cui il cavo di alimentazione sia danneggiato deve essere sostituito dal costruttore o dal suo servizio di assistenza tecnica o da persona con qualifica equivalente, al fine di prevenire possibili rischi.

Aprire la ventola tramoggia caffè (2 – fig._5.2), consentendo l’entrata dei
chicchi di caffè all’interno della camera di macinatura.

5.2 Avviamento macinacaffè L70M
Predisporre un contenitore metallico appoggiandolo alla base del macinacaffè (fig._5.4).

Regolare la macinatura tramite l’apposita manopola frontale (3 fi._5.3)
(vedi cap. Regolazione della macinatura).
Per poter regolare la macinatura con la manopola frontale (3 fi._5.3) è
necessario sganciare il micrometrico come descritto nel par. 5.4.1.

Attivare il macinacaffè agendo sull’interruttore per portarlo in posizione I –
ON per avviare la macinatura. (fig 5.5).
Per interrompere la macinatura portare l’interruttore in posizione O – OFF
(fig 5.5).

Attivare l’apparecchio portando l’interruttore principale in posizione I – ON (fig._5.6).

Scorrere il menu con il pulsante di selezione per trovare la dose desiderata
(vedi PROGRAMMAZIONE pag. 21).
Rimuovere la forcella portafiltro estraendola dalla propria sede (1 – fig
5.7).

5.4 Regolazione della macinatura
Per regolare la granulometria utilizzare la dose continua ed una bilancia di
precisione che servirà a pesare l’esatta grammatura. In caso di regolazione a
camera di macinatura piena, scartare le prime due dosi doppie in quanto
potrebbero contenere residui precedenti. Una volta accertato che la
granulometria del particolato sia quella desiderata, procedere con la
regolazione dei tempi delle dosi programmate.
5.4.1 Regolazione standard
Per modificare la macinatura (fig._5.9), ruotare la manopola di regolazione
(3) in senso orario per una granulometria più FINE, in senso antiorario per
una granulometria più GROSSA. Regolare la macinatura con il motore acceso se è
presente caffè tra le macine, a motore spento in assenza di caffè.

Predisporre un contenitore appoggiandolo alla base del macinacaffè ed avviare
la macinatura premendo il pulsante. (2 – fig 5.5).

5.4.2 Regolazione micrometrica
La regolazione della granulometria può essere eseguita tramite la manopola
frontale avendo il micrometrico sganciato come in figura 5.10.
Per regolare la granulometria tramite il micrometrico agire sull’apposito pomello del micrometrico con sistema micrometrico agganciato. Durante la rotazione del pomello del micrometrico ruoterà anche la manopola frontale così da permettere all’utente di avere indicazioni della granulometria tramite
le tacche numerate indicate sulla manopola
frontale (fig._5.12).

Per sganciare il micrometrico agire sulla parte mobile del pomello del
micrometrico tirandolo verso l’esterno (A – fig._5.11). Quest’azione
permetterà al perno del micrometrico di uscire dalla sua sede e sganciarsi
(B).

Si consiglia, inoltre, di macinare ed utilizzare pochi grammi di caffè ogni
volta che si varia la granulometria, questa procedura serve ad eliminare la
piccola quantità di caffè pre-macinato presente nell’apparecchio. Molti
fattori possono inoltre influenzare l’erogazione del caffè, tra cui la
quantità di caffè, la pressatura, la regolazione della macchina espresso, la
pulizia dei filtri e le condizioni climatiche.

5.5 Regolazione del supporto portafiltro
(solo per L70D)
Il macinacaffè L70D è fornito di un dispositivo per la regolazione
dell’altezza del
cavalletto supporto portafiltro. Per modificare tale altezza, allentare le
viti di mezzo
giro (4 – fig._5.13) e far scorrere il cavalletto (5) fino alla posizione
desiderata. L’altezza corretta del cavalletto (fig._5.14) si ottiene quando il
profilo del portafiltro si incastra correttamente sotto il gancio dello
stesso.

6 – PROGRAMMAZIONE
(SOLO PER L70D)
6.1 Utilizzo del display
Per uscire dal menu di programmazione, ruotare il pulsante di selezione, visualizzata la scritta “EXIT” premerlo per confermare e tornare al menu di lavoro (fig._6.4).
Il macinacaffè istantaneo L70D è munito di un comodo ed intuitivo display per
gestire l’intera programmazione.
Per entrare nel menu di programmazione accendere la macchina (I – ON –
fig._5.6), dopo il messaggio di benvenuto, premere il
pulsante di selezione (1 – fig._6.1- 10 secondi o fino al cambio delle scritte
sul display).

6.2 Funzionamento L70D
Il macinacaffè L70D può operare in 3 diverse modalità di lavoro selezionabili
dalla voce DTS (Dose Type Selection) nel menu di SETTING. Per accedervi:
tenere premuto per 10 secondi il pulsante di selezione ruotare il pulsante di
selezione fino alla voce SETTINGS e selezionarla premendo il tasto di
selezione (fig._6.1 – 6.2) Selezionare la voce DTS. Scegliere tra le 3
modalità di lavoro ruotando il pulsante di selezione e confermare premendolo.

Modalità Standard: Si può scegliere tra:
Dose N°1
Dose N°2
Dose N°3 (se attiva) Tramite il pulsante di selezione scegliere la dose
desiderata. Il macinacaffè erogherà per il tempo impostato in programmazione
dopo aver premuto il tasto di avvio.
Modalità Barista: Permette all’utente di selezionare le dosi come nella modalità standard ma viene erogato il caffè mantenendo premuto il pulsante di avvio, sul display viene visualizzato il countdown numerico espresso tramite il riempimento della barra laterale. Se il pulsante di avvio viene rilasciato prima del termine della dosatura il tempo residuo lampeggerà per tre secondi permettendo di completare l’erogazione. La dose non completata si resetta automaticamente dopo 15 secondi o premendo il pulsante di selezione.
Modalità Push and Grind:
Con il pulsante di selezione si può selezio-
nare se erogare le dosi o la dose continua.
Premendo una volta il pulsante di avvio la macchina avvierà la dose N°1, due
volte N°2 e tre volte N°3 se attiva. (fig._6.6) Il tempo massimo di selezione
è 2 sec. Se selezionata la dose continua il macinacaffè eroga fintanto che il
pulsante di avvio viene premuto.
6.3 Dosi programmate
Per entrare nel menu di programmazione accendere la macchina, dopo il
messaggio di benvenuto, premere il pulsante di selezione (10 secondi o fino al
cambio delle scritte sul display). Scorrere il menu di programmazione ruotando
il pulsante di selezione, visualizzata la dose da modificare, premerlo per
entrare nella programmazione (fig._6.7).

Ruotare il pulsante di selezione per modificare il tempo indicato nel display, in senso orario aumenteremo il tempo, nel senso opposto lo diminuiremo. Impostato il tempo desiderato, premere il pulsante di selezione per confermare il valore e tornare al menu di programmazione. Procedere alla regolazione della dose successiva. Il software è dotato di tre dosi programmabili, la Dose N°3 può essere disabilitata (OFF) ruotando il pulsante di selezione in senso antiorario.
La macchina può lavorare in modalità dose continua solo per brevi periodi. Non superare mai il tempo di un minuto in continuo per evitare il surriscaldamento del motore. Tenere premuto il tasto di avvio per erogare. Si può avviare anche tenendo premuto il tasto di selezione per 3 secondi fino al completamento della barra di ricarica laterale. In questo modo inizia l’erogazione continua che si può interrompere e riavviare premendo una volta sul pulsante di selezione. L’azzeramento avviene non utilizzando il comando per 3 secondi.
6.4 Dose continua
Per abilitare e disabilitare la funzione DOSE continua, procedere come segue:
scorrere il menu di programmazione ruotando il pulsante di selezione,
visualizzato il simbolo DOSE continua premerlo per entrare (fig._6.8).
6.5 Conta-dosi
L’apparecchio è dotato di una funzione per il controllo del numero delle dosi
per le funzioni temporizzate (fig._6.9). La lettera “P” indica il numero delle
dosi parziali, “T” il numero delle dosi totali. Per azzerare i conta-dosi
parziali, entrare in programmazione e visualizzata la funzione conta-dosi,
premere il pulsante di selezione e ruotarlo per posizionare il cursore sopra
il parziale da resettare. Premere il pulsante di selezione fino a che nel
parziale non apparirà il valore “0”. Premere due volte il pulsante di
selezione per lasciare la funzione conta-dosi e tornare al menu di
programmazione.

premerlo per confermare e tornare nel menu di programmazione. Nel menu di
lavoro potremo ora scegliere la Dose continua se abilitata.

La funzione FAST PROGRAM è una modalità di programmazione rapida che permette, se attiva, di modificare il tempo delle dosi programmate senza entrare in programmazione. Per abilitare o disabilitare la funzione, procedere come segue: scorrere il sottomenu di programmazione (SETTINGS) ruotando il pulsante di selezione, visualizzato il simbolo, premerlo per entrare (fig._6.10).
La Password è una funzione che impedisce l’accesso al personale non autorizzato. Scorrere il sottomenu di programmazione (SETTINGS) ruotando il pulsante di selezione, visualizzata la scritta “PASSWORD” premerlo per entrare (fig._6.11).

Ruotare il pulsante di selezione per abilitare o disabilitare la funzione, poi
premerlo per tornare al sottomenu di programmazione. Nel menu di lavoro
potremo ora utilizzare la funzione FAST PROGRAM se attiva. In modalità
standard visualizzata la dose da modificare, ruotare in senso orario per più
di 180° il pulsante di selezione, premerlo e successivamente ruotarlo per
modificare il tempo, premerlo nuovamente per uscire dalla programmazione
rapida. In modalità PUSH AND GRIND sarà possibile modificare l’ultima dose
utilizzata.

Il cursore si posizionerà sopra la prima cifra da inserire, premere il
pulsante di selezione per iniziare ad impostare la password. Dopo ogni cifra
impostata ruotando il pulsante di selezione, premerlo per passare alla cifra
successiva. Impostata la quarta cifra il cursore si posizionerà sulla scritta
“SAVE”. Confermare “SAVE” per salvare la password ed uscire o ruotare su
“EXIT” per abbandonare senza salvare e tornare al sottomenu di programmazione.
Se selezioniamo “SAVE” senza aver impostato le quattro cifre numeriche la
funzione si chiuderà senza salvare. È possibile rimuovere la password
impostando ” ” e salvando per confermare. La Password se impostata, verrà
richiesta ad ogni tentativo di accesso al menu di programmazione. Nel caso
venisse inserita una Password errata, nel display apparirà la scritta
“ERROR!”.

tre date che potranno essere modificate. Scorrere il sottomenu di

visualizzare la versione di software utilizzata dal macinacaf-

7 – PULIZIA
8.1 Anomalie, cause e rimedi
Non pulire la macchina utilizzando dispositivi metallici o abrasivi, come lana
d’acciaio, spazzole metalliche, aghi, ecc. o detergenti generici (alcool,
solventi, ecc.)
Mantenere pulita la macchina ne prolungherà la durata e produrrà un caffè
macinato migliore.
Pulizia parti mobili in plastica. Togliete le parti mobili della macchina
(coperchio, tramoggia, etc.) e lavate con abbondante acqua e detersivo neutro
Non lavate mai in lavastoviglie le parti in plastica.
L’apparecchio non si avvia Verificare che l’interruttore generale sia
in posizione ON. Verificare che la spina sia inserita. Verificare che il
pomello di regolazione
della macinatura non indichi il valore “0” Verificare che non vi siano corpi
estranei
incastrati tra le macine.
L’apparecchio si arresta in seguito a un surriscaldamento del motore:
In caso di surriscaldamento del motore, l’apparecchio si spegne
automaticamente. Il dispositivo di sicurezza è a ricaricamento automatico;
attendere che il motore si raffreddi (da 15 a 30 minuti) prima di riavviare
l’apparecchio.
Pulizia corpo macchina. Per la pulizia del corpo macchina utilizzare panni
umidi, facendo attenzione alle parti sensibili all’acqua come l’interruttore
di accensione.
8 – RISOLUZIONE DEI
PROBLEMI
In presenza di un problema o mal funzionamento spegnere e scollegare
l’apparecchio dall’alimentazione elettrica.
Di seguito viene elencata una lista di possibili interventi da eseguire in
presenza di possibili malfunzionamenti. Se il problema persiste, richiedere
l’intervento di personale addetto alla manutenzione o contattare un
rivenditore MACAP.
8.2 Inattività
Per inattività prolungata della macchina è necessario effettuare alcune
operazioni preventive: scollegare elettricamente la macchina. svuotare la
tramoggia del caffè pulire tutte le parti a contatto con gli ali-
menti. pulire tutte le superfici della macchina
con un panno. proteggere l’esterno con pellicola o sac-
co di cellophane. immagazzinare in locali asciutti e ripara-
ti con temperature non inferiori a 1° C.

9 – SMALTIMENTO

Procedere allo svuotamento dell’eventuale caffè residuo e rendere la macchina
non operativa tagliando il cavo di alimentazione. Non abbandonare la macchina
nell’ambiente.
Verificare che lo smaltimento della macchina sia eseguito nel rispetto delle
norme ambientali e secondo le normative vigenti
Informazioni agli utenti Ai sensi del Decreto Legislativo 25 settembre 2007,
n. 185 e dell’art. 13, Decreto Legislativo 25 luglio 2005, n. 151 “Attuazione
delle Direttive 2002/95 / CE, 2002/96 / CE e 2003/108 / CE, relative alla
riduzione dell’uso di sostanze pericolose nelle apparecchiature elettriche ed
elettroniche nonché nei rifiuti disposizione”.
Il simbolo del contenitore dei rifiuti barrato sull’attrezzatura significa che
il prodotto, alla fine della sua vita utile, deve essere smaltito
separatamente dagli altri tipi di rifiuti.
L’utente deve quindi trasportare l’apparecchiatura, al termine della sua vita

The official language chosen by the manufacturer is Italian. This manual reflects the condition of the appliance at the time of delivery. MACAP s.r.l. reserves the right to make, at any time, all the changes it deems appropriate to mass production and the related manuals without the obligation to update previous production and manuals.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage caused to people or

The warranty does not cover: all parts subject to wear parts damaged by
tampering by personnel not authorised by the company parts damaged by improper
use of the product.
Any returns must be authorised by our company, shipping costs must be covered
by the customer. Returns will be considered covered by the warranty only after
the returned goods are checked.
1.4 Safety instructions
1. Do not leave the packing elements (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene,
nails, cardboard, etc.) within the reach of children, as these elements are
potential sources of danger.
2. Install the machine on a flat, water repellent surface (laminate, steel,
ceramic, etc.) away from heat sources (oven, cooking stove, fireplace, etc.)
and in conditions in which the temperature cannot drop below 5°C.
3. Do not leave the machine exposed to environmental elements or place it in
damp rooms.
4. Keep the packed machine in a dry place, not exposed to environmental
elements and in conditions in which the temperature does not go below 5°C.
5. Do not place heavy items on the package. 6. In an emergency, such as fire,
unusual noise, overheating, etc.,
take immediate action by disconnecting the power. 7. The installation and
repair must conform to the codes and local

10. Check to see that the data on the rating plate corresponds to
that of the main electrical mains to which the product will be con-
nected. Before connecting the appliance to the electrical mains,
make sure that its voltage and frequency correspond to those
of the local electrical mains. The electrical data are indicated on
the appliance rating plate.
11. We do not recommend the use of accessories such as adap-
tors, multiboards or extension cords not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer as they may cause injuries.
12. Do not use this machine if the cable, plug or any other part is damaged
or if the machine malfunctions. Return the machine to
the nearest authorised service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
The power cable must not be replaced by the user.
13. This appliance was designed exclusively to grind coffee beans. All other
uses are inappropriate and dangerous. The manufacturer shall not be held
responsible for any damage caused by
inappropriate use.
14. To protect against electric shocks when using any electrical appliance, including the instant L70M – L70D coffee grinder:
a. Do not immerse the coffee grinder, cable and plugs in water or other liquid
and do not let the machine’s internal parts get
in contact with liquid.
b. Prevent the power cable from being stretched or pulled tight.
c. Do not use the appliance with wet hands or feet. d. Do not allow children
or untrained persons to use the appli-
ance.
e. Do not activate the coffee grinder with bare feet. f. Place a circuit
breaker at the electrical mains feeding the ap-
pliance.
g. Do not spill liquids on top of the machine. h. The machine should not be
exposed to elements such as sunlight,
rain, snow, extreme temperatures, etc. 15. Always use MACAP s.r.l. certified

16. Before performing any cleaning or maintenance turn the machine off by means of the power switch and disconnect the machine from the electrical supply.

17. If the machine operates in a faulty manner or stops working, turn it off immediately and disconnect it from the electrical supply. Do not attempt to repair it but contact an authorized and qualified MACAP s.r.l. technician. Any repair must be performed by the manufacturer or by an authorized dealer using only original parts.
18. The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction.
19. Keep the appliance and relevant cable out of reach of children.
20. Children must not play with the appliance.
21. Do not pull the power cable to disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
22. To ensure correct operation and efficiency of the machine, it is required
to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, carrying out
cleaning and routine maintenance operations.
23. Never remove (disengage/unhook) the hopper or the relative cover during grinding.
24. The machine is fitted with motor thermal protection, if it is triggered
and consequently stops grinding, unplug the machine from the electrical mains
and wait at least one hour before using it
again.
25. Remember that the appliance is intended for professional use, not domestic, therefore it may only be used by qualified persons.
26. The appliance is not waterproof, therefore, it must be placed far away
from water jets or damp places. Do not wash the appliance
with water jets or steam cleaners.

2 – UNPACKING
Before proceeding, the appliance installation personnel
must read these instructions
and, in particular, the previous sections regarding general
information and safety require-
ments.
2.1 Contents of the packaging
The instant coffee grinder is supplied in a cardboard box. Make sure that all

The weight of the unladen machine is indicated directly on the packaging or is
visible on the “CE” marking plate applied under the machine (1 – fig. 2.2).
The packed machine must be protected in a sheltered and moisture-free premises
until it is installed in a suitable environment. After removing the packaging,
it is required to verify that the various components are in perfect condition
and that there are no traces of tampering, damaged parts, etc. It will also be
necessary to check that the machine is complete with all its parts, any
accessories and technical documentation as per the transport documentation.
Before proceeding with the installation, in case anomalies are found in the
checks on delivery, report the findings to the manufacturer.

3-DESCRIPTION OF THE

3.1 Intended destination and use
This type of appliance is intended for commercial use, for example in coffee
shops, restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, etc., but not for the continuous
mass production of food. This device was only designed to grind coffee beans.
Any other use is to be considered unsuitable and therefore dangerous.

4.1 Coffee hopper installation
Before installing the coffee hopper and relative cover, wash them with water
and mild detergent to remove any processing residues.
Place the hopper (1 – fig._4.3), correctly and stably inside the collar, with
the fan inserted (2) and tighten the safety screw on the right (3 – fig._4.3)
4.2 Electrical power supply
Before connecting the machine ensure that the identification label data comply
with those of the local electric mains (see fig._2.2).

5 – OPERATION OF THE
INSTANT COFFEE GRINDER
We assume the machine has been installed correctly.
5.1 Preparing the coffee grinder
Remove the cover from the coffee hopper (1 – fig._5.1) and insert the coffee beans. Close the cover.

5.2 Starting the L70M coffee grinder

5.4 Grinding adjustment
To adjust the granulometry, use the continuous dose and a precision scale to
weigh the exact grammage. If adjusting with a full grinding chamber, discard
the first two double doses as they could contain previous residue. Once you
have ensured that the particle size is the intended one, adjust the times of
the programmed doses.
5.4.1 Adjustment standard
Modify the grind (fig._5.9) by rotating the adjustment knob (3) clockwise for
a FINER granulometry and anticlockwise for a THICKER granulometry. Adjust the
grinding with the motor switched on if there is coffee between the grinders,
and with the motor switched off if there is no coffee.

5.4.2 Micrometric adjustment
The granulometry can be adjusted using the front knob with the micrometer
released as shown in figure 5.10. Release the micrometer by actuating the
with the attached micrometric system. As the micrometer knob rotates, the front knob will also rotate so as to allow the user to have indications of the granulometry through the numbered notches indicated on the front knob (fig._5.12).

It is also recommended to grind and use a few grams of coffee every time the
granulometry is altered, this procedure is useful to eliminate the small
amount of pre-ground coffee present in the appliance. Many factors may
influence the dispensing of coffee, including the quality of the coffee,
pressing, the adjustment of the espresso machine, the cleaning of the filters
and climatic conditions.

5.5 Adjusting the filter holder support
(only for L70D)
The L70D coffee grinder is supplied with a device to adjust the height of the
filter holder support stand. To change this height, loosen the screws by half
a turn (4 – fig._5.13) and slide the stand (5) to the intended position. The
correct height of the stand (fig._5.14) is obtained when the profile of the
filter holder fits perfectly under its hook (fig._5.14) Fasten the screws to
guarantee a secure
support to the filter holder.

6 – PROGRAMMING

6.1 Using the display

Exit the programming menu by rotating the selection button and the message “EXIT” is
displayed; press it to confirm and return to the work menu (fig._6.4).
The L70D instant coffee grinder is fitted with a practical and intuitive
display to manage the entire programming.
Enter the programming menu by turning the machine on (I – ON – fig._5.6) and
after the welcome message, press the selection
button (1 – fig._6.1- 10 seconds or until the display changes).

6.2 Operation of L70D
The L70D coffee grinder can operate in 3 different work modes, which can be
selected from the DTS (Dose Type Selection) item in the SETTING menu.
Access it as follows: keep the selection button pressed for 10 seconds, rotate
the selection button to SETTINGS and select it by pressing the selection
button (fig._6.1 – 6.2) Select DTS. Select any of the 3 work modes by rotating
the selection button and confirm by pressing it (fig._6.5).

Standard Mode: You can choose from:

Dose 3 (if active) Use the selection button to choose the intended dose. The
coffee grinder will dispense for the time set in programming after pressing
the start button.
Barista Mode:
It allows the user to select the doses as in the
standard mode but the coffee is dispensed by keeping the start button pressed
and the display shows the numerical countdown expressed by filling the side
bar. If the start button is released before the end
the dosing, the remaining time will flash for three seconds, allowing you to
complete the dispensing cycle. The incomplete dose is automatically reset
after 15 seconds or by pressing the selection button.
Push and Grind Mode:
Use the selection button to select whether to dispense the doses or the
continuous dose.
Press the start button once for the machine
to start dose 1, twice for 2 and three times for 3, if active (fig._6.6) The
maximum selection time is 2 sec. If the continuous dose is selected, the
coffee grinder dispenses for as long as the start
button is pressed.
6.3 Programmed doses
Enter the programming menu by turning the machine on and after the welcome
message, press the selection button (10 seconds or until the display changes).
Scroll through the programming menu by rotating the selection button; when the
dose to be modified is displayed, press it to enter the programming

Adjust the next dose. The software has three programmable doses: Dose 3 can be
disabled (OFF) by rotating the selection button anticlockwise.
Press and hold the start button to dispense.
It can also be started by holding the selection button for 3 seconds until the
side charging
bar is complete. In this way, continuous delivery begins, which can be stopped
and restarted by pressing the selection button once. The reset takes place by
not using the command for 3 seconds.
6.4 Continuous dose
To enable and disable the continuous DOSE function, proceed as follows: scroll
the programming menu by rotating the selection button until the DOSE symbol is
displayed and continue pressing it to enter (fig._6.8). Rotate the selection

The device has a function that controls the number of doses for the timed
functions (fig._6.9). Letter “P” indicates the number of partial doses and “T”
indicates the number of total doses. Reset the partial dose counters by
entering the programming cycle and once the dose meter function is displayed,
press the selection button and rotate it to position the cursor over the
partial dose that is to be reset. Press the selection button until “0” appears
in the partial dose. Press the selection button twice to exit the dose meter
function and return to the programming menu.

disable the function, proceed as follows: scroll the programming submenu

selection button to start setting the password. After every digit is set, by
turning the selection button, press it to move to the next digit. Once the
fourth digit has been set, the cursor is positioned on “SAVE”. Confirm “SAVE”
to save the password and exit or rotate to “EXIT” to exit without saving and
return to the programming submenu. If you select “SAVE” without having set the
four numerical digits, the function will close without saving. You can remove
the password by setting ” ” and saving to confirm. If the Password is set, it
will be required every time the programming menu is accessed. If an incorrect
Password is entered, the display will show “ERROR!”.

You can view the software version used by the coffee grinder in the programming submenu (SETTINGS) (fig._6.13). This information can be requested by assistance in case of malfunctions.

7 – CLEANING
L70M – L70D 8.1 Troubleshooting
Do not clean the machine by using metal or abrasive devices, such as steel
wool, metal brushes, needles, etc. or general detergents (alcohol, solvents,
etc.)
Keeping your machine clean will prolong its life and produce better ground
coffee.
Cleaning the plastic mobile parts. Remove the mobile parts of the machine
(cover, hopper, etc.) and wash thoroughly with water and mild detergent
Never wash the plastic parts in the dishwasher.
The device does not start Check that the main switch is in the ON
position. Check that the plug is inserted. Make sure that the grinding
adjustment
knob is not showing the value “0” Check that there are no foreign bodies
stuck between the grinder blades.
The device stops as a result of motor overheating:
The device switches off automatically in case of overheating. The safety
device recharges automatically; wait for the motor to cool down (from 15 to 30
minutes) before restarting the device.
Cleaning the machine body. Use damp cloths to clean the machine body, being
mindful of the parts sensitive to water like the power switch.
8 -TROUBLESHOOTING
In case of a problem or malfunction switch off and disconnect the appliance
from the electrical mains.
A list of possible actions to perform in case of possible malfunctions is
shown below. If the problem persists, request the intervention of maintenance
personnel or contact a MACAP dealer.
8.2 Inactivity
For prolonged machine inactivity, it is required to carry out certain
preventive operations: disconnect the machine electrically. empty the coffee
hopper wash all the parts in contact with food-
stuffs. clean all the surfaces of the machine
with a cloth. protect the outside with a cellophane
film or bag. store in dry sheltered rooms with tem-
peratures no lower than 1°C.

10 – MANUFACTURER
Remove any residual coffee and render the machine non operational by cutting
the power cable. Do not dispose of the machine in the environment.
Check that machine disposal is performed with respect of environmental rules
and according to the regulations in force
Information to the users Under Legislative Decree 25 September 2007, no. 185
and art. 13, Legislative Decree 25 July 2005, no. 151 “Implementation of
Directives 2002/95/EC, 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC, regarding the reduction of
use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment as well as
waste disposal”.
The barred waste bin symbol on the equipment means that the product, at the
end of its service life, must be disposed of separately from the other types
of waste.
The user must therefore transport the equipment, at the end of its service
life, to the appropriate separate collection centres for electronic/electro-
technical waste products or return it to the dealer when purchasing a new
equivalent equipment.
The appropriate separate collection and the following sending of the used
equipment to recycling, treatment and eco-friendly disposal will help avoid
negative effects on the environment as well as on health along with an easier
recycling of the materials forming the equipment.
