This installation guide will help you install your new router. The router should be connected to an Ethernet-based broadband network.

Start box

Check that the following items are included in the start box:

  • 1 Router
  • 1 Power adapter
  • 1 Network cable

Connecting the WAN/broadband connection

Do as follows:

  1. Shut down your computer.
  2. Connect a network cable between your broadband outlet and the grey WAN port marked WAN.
  3. Plug in the power adapter in the nearest power outlet and connect the thin cable from the power adapter to the round socket labeled DC12V and make sure that any of the lights are lit.
  4. If not lit, press the ON/OFF button on the back of the router.
  5. The router will start and automatically contact Bredband2 to update the built-in firmware. This may take a while, don’t turn off the power.
  6. When the update is done, the green Power light will be lit.

Note!
The router should be placed as high and central as possible. Avoid placing it in an enclosed space as it may degrade the WiFi signal. Make sure that it will have adequate ventilation, do not cover the router, or place it in an environment that will lead to overheating.

Connecting the LAN

  1. Connect a network cable between the yellow network port (LAN 1-4) and the network port on the back or side of your computer or the device you want to connect. If you have more devices, use LAN2, LAN3, and LAN4.
  2. Finally, plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet and the contact into the router where it is labeled DC12V, and press the power button on the back of the router to turn on the device.
  3. Start the computer or the device you have connected.
  4. The Power-, Internet- and WiFi lights will shine a constant green on your router when the installation is complete.

Connecting the WiFi

  1. Make sure that the WiFi light (see picture labeled ”Front”, WiFi) on your router is lit green. If it isn’t lit: press the button labeled WiFi/WPS (see picture labeled ”Back”) to activate WiFi.
  2. Search for wireless networks on the device you want to connect.
  3. Compare the list of network names (SSIDs) with the name shown on a sticker at the bottom of the router.
  4. Connect by double-clicking on the correct SSID and then entering the password. This can be found on the sticker labeled WPA key on the bottom of the router. The password must be typed exactly as written, i.e. uppercase and lowercase letters.

Because you created a template for these ports it is easy to connect another device by adding a static IP-adress (use steps 1-3) and connecting the template to that IP address (steps 8-11).

Troubleshooting

  1. Check that the power is on.
The Power light should be on (See picture labeled ”Front”, Power).

  2. Is the Power light off?
Check that the router is properly connected to the power adapter. Check that the power adapter is connected to an electrical outlet. If the router is properly connected to an electrical outlet, a power light that is still not on may indicate a faulty router or a faulty power adapter. Contact Bredband2.

  3. Is the Power light flashing red or is the Internet light red?
    Contact Bredband2.

  4. Is the WiFi light not green?
Press the WPS button on the back to activate WiFi.

  5. Reset button
This button resets your router to factory settings. The reset button is located on the bottom of the router. Use a pen or a paperclip and press for 10 seconds.
