SPARTAN AVS22 Linkage Installation Procedure
AVS22 Linkage
The AVS22 Linkage has 6 components
- Valve–Linkage: Square linkage with 3 screw holes
- Actuator-Linkage: Linkage with 4 screw holes
- Shaft: The Cylindrical brass rod
- Cotter Pin: U-shaped pin
- M4 Phillips head screws X 3
- M3 Phillips head screws X 4
Pre-Installation Procedure – Valve
- Remove the existing actuator from the Valve.
- Remove the existing Linkage from the Valve.
- Turn the valve stem to set up the required configuration. i.e., Normally Closed or Normally Open.
- a. Normally Closed: Valve Closed.
- b. Normally Open: Valve Open.
Pre-Installation Procedure – Linkage & Actuator
- Remove any protective covers from the Linkage and Actuator.
- Inspect the Linkage and Actuator and make sure all the components are available.
- Make Linkage ready along with the other components.
Valve – Linkage Assembly
The linkage that goes on the valve is the square one with 3 screw holes. Make sure the valve is in the correct configuration (Normally opened or Normally Closed) before installing the linkage.
- Align the screw holes of the linkage with the holes on the valve.
- Install all 3 x M4 Phillips head screws to attach the linkage to the valve.
Actuator – Linkage Assembly
The linkage that goes on the actuator is the one with 4 screw holes. Make sure
the Actuator is NOT powered when installing the linkage.
- Align the screw holes of the linkage with the holes on the Actuator.
- Install all 4 x M3 Phillips head screws to attach the linkage to the Actuator.
- Tighten the screws in the “X” pattern as shown.
Connecting Valve and Actuator
- Insert the shaft into the linkage in the Valve.
- a. Make sure the shaft is perfectly diagonal to the square linkage.
- Connect the bottom linkage and top linkage
- Press down the Actuator on the Valve.
- Insert the Cotter Pin into the slot.
- Verify the linkage alignment.
