HOW MANY PADS COME WITH MAIN OFFER?

WHAT IS THE LENGTH OF THE SHAG ON THE VAC-THEN-STEAM” PADS?
All purpose: ¼ inch shag in length, 12″ by 9″ of cleaning surface. Heavy Duty Shag: ½ inch shag in length, 12 by 9 of cleaning surface.
WHAT SORT OF MESSES OR SITUATIONS WOULD BE BEST FOR EACH TYPE OF PAD?
1. All purpose pad leaves a great finish on hard floor surfaces, but is safe and effective to use on all sealed floor surfaces. This is a great all- surface, general scrubbing steam pad. Use this in your kitchen or heavy foot traffic areas.
2. The heavy duty shag pad is great on textured floor surfaces, often found with ceramic tile. This is also safe and effective to use on all sealed hard floor surfaces, but is ideal for doing multiple rooms and larger cleaning areas.
You can clean up to 40 minutes without having to change your pad. For most homes, this means your entire 1st floor with just 1 pad!
IF I BUY MULTIPLE UNITS, CAN YOU SHIP THEM TO DIFFERENT ADDRESSES?
In order to keep the cost down we cannot ship to different addresses. We could accommodate your request if we enter them as separate, individual orders.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY COVERAGE?
EURO-PRO Operating LLC warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (2) year from the date of the original purchase, when utilized for normal household use, subject to the following conditions, exclusions and exceptions. If your appliance fails to operate properly while in use under normal household conditions within the warranty period, return the complete appliance and accessories, freight prepaid. Return contact details are included in the Instruction Booklet shipped with the Vac-then-Steam”, as well as on the product website SharkVacThenSteam.com.
WHAT FLOOR TYPES SHOULD MY VAC-THEN-STEAM” BY USED ON?
The Vac-then-Steam” is engineered for premium performance exclusively on hard floor surfaces. It can be used on all sealed hard floor surfaces ” including sealed hardwood, linoleum, ceramic tile, or marble and other stone floors. Note that we do not suggest use of this product on unsealed surfaces, such as unfinished hardwood, unglazed ceramic floors, or unsealed stone floors. On surfaces that have been treated with wax or some no wax floors, the sheen may be removed by the heat and steam action. We recommend testing an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding. We recommend that you check the use and care instructions from the floor manufacturer.
CAN CLEANING SOLUTIONS BE ADDED TO THE WATER?
Only water should be added to the Vac-then-Steam”. No other substances should be added to the water for various reasons. Additives will build up on the boiler decreasing the life of the Vac-then-Steam”. Most of the additive will be distilled out of the water. The remaining additive could end up in the steam vapor and, depending upon the additive, be dangerous to inhale while using the Vac-then-Steam”. For these reasons, do not add anything but water to the Vac-then-Steam”. As a free gift, we are sending you the Shark Fresh Breeze Mister that is used to apply a subtle Fresh Breeze scent to the back of your cleaning pads before you steam mop. This will release a beautiful, soft fragrance in the air. It is designed to be applied to the back of the pad that does not contact the floor. Even this fragrance should never be added into the water tank of your Vac-then-Steam”.
IS TAP WATER SAFE TO USE?
Tap water is ok to use in the Vac-then-Steam”. Distilled water is better for the longest boiler life. However, if you live in an area with hard water we recommend using distilled water to prolong the life of your product.
COULD I USE FILTERED WATER INSTEAD OF DISTILLED WATER?
Distilled water is best. We have learned that distilled water is empty of all minerals and undergoes a multi-step process to be classified as distilled. However, filtered water is indeed better than unfiltered for the boiler life.
WHAT SPECIFIC TYPES OF SURFACES CAN I USE THE VAC THEN STEAM ON?
The Vac-then-Steam” is engineered for premium performance exclusively on hard floor surfaces, and is not intended for area rugs or carpets. It can be used on all sealed hard floor surfaces ” including sealed hardwood, linoleum, ceramic tile, or marble and other stone floors. Note that we do not suggest use of this product on unsealed surfaces, such as unfinished hardwood, unglazed ceramic floors, or unsealed stone floors. Your Vac-then-Steam” is designed to clean surfaces that will withstand high heat and moisture; this includes Lacquer and polyurethane coatings.
- Lacquer and polyurethane coatings provide a hard durable protective finish that withstands moisture.
- The sheen may be removed by the heat, steam, and friction of the cleaning tools.
- Do not use on unsealed wood surfaces especially wood antique furniture, unglazed ceramic tile, painted surfaces or surfaces that have been treated with wax, oils, varnished, or shellac.
- It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding, as well as check the use and care instructions from the surface manufacturer.
Cleaning Tip: When cleaning finished wood surfaces, use broad, continuous cleaning strokes. To prevent surface damage, avoid focusing steam or allowing the cleaning tools to sit in one spot for any amount of time.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I STEAM MOP WITHOUT VACUUMING?
It is not necessary to vacuum your floors before steam cleaning them. However, not vacuuming any floor before mopping with any mop can result in snowplowing invisible dirt, catching non-water soluble particles in the fabric, and possibly result in scratching your floor. Hence, the 2-in-1 Vac-then-Steam” makes it easy to properly clean your hard floors with a powerful, fine particle vacuum that converts to a steam mop in seconds. You are able to achieve a truly clean and sanitized floor that dries quicker than any traditional cleaning method.
CAN I VACUUM AND STEAM AT THE SAME TIME?
We have specifically engineered this unit for optimal performance. The product is not able to vacuum and steam at the same time as a preventive measure to ensure the product performance for premium bare floor cleaning, in addition to prolonging the life of the unit. If you vacuum moisture at the same time, you can mix water with sand and create undesirable cementation inside the unit.

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF THE WATER TANK?
Full capacity is 400 ml, but 300 ml to the water fill line. The water tank can be refilled anytime.
HOW LONG WILL ONE TANK OF WATER LAST BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REFILLED?
Approximately 12-16 minutes, depending upon the continued use and the water volume in the tank.
WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF THE DUST CUP?
Apprx. 0.8 dry liters max
HOW MANY FILTERS COME WITH MY UNIT?
2 dustcup filters ” 1 in the unit and 1 replacement. It also comes with 2 post-motor filters ” also, 1 in the unit and 1 replacement.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE FILTERS ” BOTH THE DUSTCUP AND POST- MOTOR FILTERS?
Rinse and dry every 3 months. Replace every year. Replacement filters can be purchased on sharkclean.com or through our 1-800 customer service number.
HOW DOES THIS VACUUM COMPARE TO ITS COMPETITORS?

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN THE SCENT OILS?
It is a water based fragrance with an oil additive. It does not contain any alcohol or other preservatives.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH THE PADS?

HOW DO I WASH THE PADS?
Wash in your household washing machine with warm water with liquid detergent. Do not bleach or use fabric softener. Air dry or dry on a low dryer setting.

DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO USE THE STORAGE TRAY FOR MY VAC THEN STEAM?
We suggest that you store your Vac-then-Steam” on the deluxe storage tray to protect your floors from any residual moisture or condensation that naturally occurs after steam mopping your floors.
DO I PUT THE SCENT OILS INTO THE WATER TANK?
No. The Shark® Fresh Breeze is designed to be applied to the back of the pad that does not contact the floor. Even this fragrance should never be added into the water tank of your Vac-then-Steam”.
WILL THE SCENT OILS LEAVE ANY TYPE OF RESIDUE ON MY FLOOR?
No. Because the Shark ® Fresh Breeze Mister is used to apply a subtle Fresh Breeze scent to the back of your cleaning pads, the side of the pad that comes into contact with your floor does not have any oil on it. Hence, no residue will be left on your floors after you steam mop.
