IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
In order to avoid property damage, serious bodily injury, or death, it is important that you read, understand,s and follow ALL safety instructions. Please keep the safety instructions for future reference.

  1. WARNING: Always check under and around the chair before lowering it from a raised position to make sure no children, household pets or objects are under the chair. Never allow children to operate or play on, under, or around the chair. Failure to clear the area under and around the chair before lowering may result in serious bodily injury, death, or property damage. Always store the controller out of reach of children and unplug the chair to prevent children from using the controller.
  2. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, always unplug the chair from the electrical outlet before moving, cleaning, or servicing.
  3. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, serious bodily injury, death, or property damage, only use the chair indoors in locations free of water. The chair should never be used outdoors.
  4. WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, serious bodily injury, death or property damage never plug in, use or operate the chair if the cord has been damaged or if the chair becomes wet or has been damaged. Do not use an extension cord with the chair.
  5. WARNING: Do not use the chair to store or support any items including, without limitation, televisions or video equipment as such items can fall off the chair and cause serious bodily injury or death.
  6. WARNING: Use the chair only for its intended use and in accordance with these Safety instructions and all other product instructions. Failure to do so may result in serious injury, death or property damage.
  7. WARNING: The maximum weight limit of the chair is 250 pounds. Only allow one person to sit on or use the chair and always sit on the bo seat cushion only. Never sit on the back of the chair, chair arms, or leg rest (if equipped). Using or ope ng chair with more than the maximum weight limit or part of the chair other than the bo seat cushion could damage the chair and/or cause the chair to over or collapse resulting in serious bodily injury or death.
  8. WARNING: Your chair is equipped with air openings. Always keep air openings free of lint, hair, or other blockage. Failure to do so may cause the chair motor to overheat resulting in fire, property damage, bodily injury, or death.
  9. WARNING: Do not operate the chair near or around flammable gases, liquids, or vapors. Failure to follow this instruction may cause a fire or explosion resulting in personal injury, death, or property damage.
  10. Always use proper tools.
  11. Follow the assembly steps in order. Do not skip any steps.
  12. Be sure to check all packing materials carefully for small parts that may have come loose inside the carton during shipment. If parts are missing, contact the retailer from which you purchased the product to obtain any missing parts. DO NOT USE SUBSTITUTE PARTS. Periodically check to ensure that all connectors (bolts, screws, etc.) are tight.
  13. Keep the instructions for future reference.
  14. Some assembly may involve attaching glass or mirrors. Be very careful handling the glass or mirrors, as severe injury may result if the glass or mirror breaks. Never handle large pieces of glass or mirrors by yourself.
  15. When assembling products that have electric cords (lamps, lights, etc.), always (1) make sure the electrical cord is unplugged before assembly and (2) be careful not to twist the electrical cord during assembly.
  16. When assembling shelves or entertainment centers, do not stand on lower shelves in order to assemble upper shelves–use a step ladder.
  17. Do not stand on tables, including but not limited to, end tables, coffee tables, and dinner tables, as tables are not to support the weight of a person.
  18. Where assembly instructions state that the assembly requires two or more people, do not attempt by yourself as there is a risk of injury.

  2. YOUR UNIT MAY LOOK DIFFERENT IN APPEARANCE FROM THE ONE SHOWN IN THE ILLUSTRATIONS ON THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET.

INSTALLATION OF BACKUP BATTERIES

2-9 Volt backup batteries will operate the chair from the reclined position to the seating position for one cycle in case of a power failure. If a power failure occurs and the chair is cycled, the 2-9 volt batteries will need to be replaced.

  1. Remove the sliding door on the side of the transformer to locate the 2- 9 volt batteries.
  2. Remove the 2-9 volt batteries and replace them with new batteries.
  3. Replace the door on the transformer.
  4. Batteries are not included.

FABRIC CARE INSTRUCTIONS

The micro suede fabric covering this specific piece of furniture is soft to the touch and very durable for everyday living. It is recommended by the fabric manufacturer to only clean this fabric with water-based cleaning agents or soap. Lightly scrubbing will help with any tougher spots that may have developed. Always checked a spot of fabric in an area that is unseen to be sure the cleaning agent being used will not discolor or fade the fabric’s finishing. Let the air dry and vacuum for the best result.

CORD AND POWER TRANSFORMER CONNECTIONS

Once the box has been removed from around the chair, you’ll notice the back is laying on the top of the seat. There are a couple of items to remove from the seat portion of the chair first. Follow the step below:

  1. Remove the zip tie holding the red bag with Power Transformer and it’s the cord on the left as shown in Figure A.
  2. The control Wand is located in a pocket on the outside of the chair as shown in Figure A.ASHLEY-3500212-Markridge-Power-Lift-Recliner-fig- \(1\)
  3. Slide the back down on the base. The back receiver bracket slides down on the mechanism arms coming up. See Figure B.ASHLEY-3500212-Markridge-Power-Lift-Recliner-fig- \(3\)
  4. Connect the Power Transformer cable to the corresponding plug coming from the back of the chair.
  5. Power Button: The Power Button is designed to disable the power operation. It is in the cable that connects the motor to the transformer. It is a press button. When the button is pressed to the off position, the Green Light on the Power button will not display. When the button is in the on position, the Green Light in the Power Button will display and the unit will operate.
  6. Connect the power cord to the Power Transformer.
  7. Connect the power cord to an electrical outlet near where the chair will be used.
  8. Press the Up on the wand to lift the chair and the  Down button on the wand to lower or recline the chair.

WARNING:
Clear the area below the chair before lowering it to reduce the risk of injury or death.

If the chair is not functioning, check the plug-in and connection of the cords first (The order is A-B-C), see Figure A. Be sure cords are clear from the chair prior to operation.

NOTICE INSTALL FLOOR GLIDES BEFORE USE

-Your Ashley lift chair has four adjustable floor glides. They are located in the owner’s package and must be installed per the diagram before use. These glides can be adjusted to level your lift chair on uneven flooring.
