IMPORTANT WARNING AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • DANGER: SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH CAN RESULT IF THIS PRODUCT IS NOT INSTALLED AND USED CORRECTLY.

  • RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR ELECTROCUTION: UNDERWATER POOL LIGHTS REQUIRE HIGH VOLTAGE WHICH CAN SHOCK, BURN, OR CAUSE DEATH.
  • Before working on or servicing lights, always disconnect power to the lights at the source circuit breaker from the light before servicing the light. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to service person, pool users or others due to electric shock. When installing and using this electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed, include the following:
  • This underwater light must be installed by a licensed or certified electrician or a qualified pool professional in accordance with the current National Electrical Code (NEC),
  • NFPA 70 or the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA C22.1. All applicable local installation codes and ordinances must also be adhered to. Improper installation will create an electrical hazard which could result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers or others due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to power source. Always disconnect the power to the pool light at the circuit breaker before servicing the light. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to serviceman, pool users or others due to electrical shock.
  • For countries in compliance with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) regulatory standards: The light fixture must
    be installed by a licensed or certified electrician or a qualified pool service person, in accordance with IEC 364-7-702 and all applicable local codes and ordinance. Improper installation will create an electrical hazard, which could result in death or serious injury to pool user, installer or other due to electrical shock and may also cause damage to the property.

WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK.

  • Connect only to a branch circuit protected by a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI). Contact a qualified electrician if you cannot verify that the circuit is protected by a GFCI. This light fixture must be connected only to a supply circuit that is protected by a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI). Such a GFCI should be provided by the installer and should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, push the test button. The GFCI should interrupt power. Push the reset button. Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts power to the light without the test button being pushed, a ground current is following, indicating the possibility of an electric shock. Do not use this light. Disconnect the light fixture and have the problem corrected by a qualified service representative before using. Locate your pool so that the wall is at least 10 feet from all electrical receptacles and at least 20 feet from all receptacles not protected by a
  • GFCI. It is also very important to locate the pool so that it is not under any electrical wiring, that is less than 18 feet vertically above the pool wall and within an area located 10 feet outside the pool walls. The pool must also never be located under any lighting fixture or within five (5) feet measured horizontally from any fixture mounted less than five (5) feet vertically above the pool water level.
  • NOTICE: The external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged, the luminaire shall be destroyed.
  • Under no circumstances replace lights by splicing wire under water or behind niche.
  • The MAGICFALLS® with LIGHTCASCADE TECHNOLOGY™ LED light is a 12 VAC system. ONLY USE an approved 12 volt AC transformer, sold separately. When using a Junction Box, connect 12 volt AC connections to junction box terminals. Never connect the light directly to high voltage lines.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE:
  • THE MAGICFALLS® WITH LIGHTCASCADE TECHNOLOGY™ LIGHT IS A NON-SERVICEABLE LIGHT.
  • THE COMPLETE LIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED.

MagicFalls® with LightCascade Technology™ LED Light Overview and Important Facts

  • This manual describes how to install and replace the MagicFalls with Light Cascade Technology LED Light.

  • The MagicFalls Water Effect, in combination with the LightCascade Technology LED Light assembly (sold separately), includes a waterfall with an elegant lighted effect.

  • Perhaps no other feature contributes more to the beauty and tranquility of your pool-scape than the sight and sound of falling water. Built to the highest standard of quality, and “wet tested” to ensure that your water effect will be soothing and beautiful, the MagicFalls Water Effects will transform your pool into a romantic oasis, and a breath-taking focal point. MagicFalls Water Effect are an ideal, energy-efficient addition to pools, fountains, ponds and more. MagicFalls with LIghtCascade Technology waterfall provide brilliant vivid multi-colors with spectacular effects for your pool. Choose one of the seven pre-programmed color light shows or select one of the five fixed colors to create virtually endless range of dramatic underwater lighting effects for a spectacular effect in your pool and spa.

  • If multiple LED lighting is being used, it is recommended that these lights be run in-dependent of each other, using a separate transformer for each group or type of light.

  • Otherwise all lights connected to the same transformer will be working together. See page 2 for more information.

  • The Waterfall sheet effect is thin, sensitive to wind, and the width of the sheet narrows the farther it falls. At fall heights above 3’, the sheet effect begins to break apart and to produce an annoying buffeting noise. A maximum mounting height of 3 ft. for sheet effect is recommended.

  • Waterfall are typically installed in the bond beam, just above the tile line, or in a raised wall above the bond beam. Three important considerations include: wall thickness, tile or stone thickness, and the weight of the covering concrete or stone.

  • Use a cartridge filter to supply clean, filtered water to the waterfall. Do not use a DE or Sand filter. Not using filtered water may let debris pass into the waterfall and become permanently lodged in the waterfall disrupting the water flow.

  • You should plan to supply approximately 15 GPM per foot. The waterfall can operate on lower flow rates (10 GPM/ft minimum), but may not achieve the desired effect. Each waterfall should be equipped with a flow control valve, located downstream from the filter, to adjust the flow to each waterfall. It is recommended to use an energy saving Pentair Variable Speed Pump to allow you to easily vary the flow to the waterfall.

  • The maximum head loss for any waterfall is 6 ft. Calculate and add the loss of your piping to determine your pump requirement.

  • Use 11/2 in diameter supply piping for each waterfall 1 ft. and under. Use 2 in diameter supply piping for 18 in to 4 ft waterfalls. Use 3 in diameter supply piping for all waterfalls 5 ft. and over. Be sure to calculate the total head loss. Note: Be sure to keep all debris out of the piping during installation.

  • The bottom connection to the waterfalls (water port) is a 1-1/2 in connection. This allows installation of a standard 11/2 in diameter Sch40 fittings directly on the connection. Waterfalls 5’ and over have two 11/2 in bottom connections

  • Note : The water connections on the waterfall ARE ABS MATERIAL AND THE LIGHT PORTs ARE PVC. Use a pool industry standard brand of PVC cement for the PVC connections and ABS transition Glue (green) for the PVC to ABS connections.

  • For installation subject to heavy debris, install the optional rock trap
    (P/N 580004). This requires 2 in plumbing.

  • Curved water effects cannot be field cut, they must be factory cut for a nominal charge. Convex or concave curves can be cut. There must be at least 1” of lip in front of the manifold body, or the water effect will not work.

  • Waterfalls that are ordered in a color other than white are painted with
    high quality automotive paint. The paint is applied to the front and extends approximately 1 in. into the lip.

  • NOTE: The incoming water supply line and the Water Baffle/Water Channel must be completely supported and should not hang off the waterfall lip. An unsupported waterline and or Water Baffle/ Water Channel could cause the joints to fail and ultimately leak. This will void the warranty.

WATER FLOW REQUIREMENT CHART

  • Use the Water Flow Requirement Chart below to determine the waterfall effect projection for 1 ft. to 8 ft. models.

Operating MagicFalls® Water Effect Using a Wall Switch

  • MagicFalls Water Effect can be controlled using a standard wall-mount light switch. Multiple MagicFalls Water Effect can be connected via a junction box to a single switch so that all lights can be switched on and off together. The lights are controlled by cycling the AC power to the 12 VAC power supply and from there to the lights from a standard wall switch. By turning the switch OFF and ON a specific number of times, the light activates one of the seven light show modes, fixed colors, or enables the
    “Hold” and “Recall” feature.

  • Note: Wall switch must be connected to the 120 VAC side of the transformer and never to the 12 VAC side.

  • Operating MagicFalls Water Effect Using Automation Control System
    MagicFalls Water Effect can also be automatically controlled via a Pentair Color Sync™, IntelliCenter®, IntelliTouch® and EasyTouch® Control Systems. For more infor-mation refer to the user manual of your automation control system.

Using an External Transformer for Multiple MagicFalls Water Effects

  • When using multiple MagicFalls® with LightCascade Technology™12 VAC LED Lights on a 100 Watt transformer, it is recommended that no more than three (3) MagicFalls LED lights be used. It is also recommended not to exceed 150 feet of total cable run between the transformer and lights. Note: For long cable lengths, set transformer to 14 VAC, and use only MagicFalls LED lights with the 150” cord option, see diagram below.PENTAIR-MagicFalls-with-LightCascade-Technology-LED-Light-FIG-3
  • Note : If a longer cable run is necessary, it is recommended that separate 100 Watt 12 VAC transformers be used for each light with no more than 150 feet of total cable run between the transformer and lights.

Maximum wattage when using multiple MagicFalls® LED Lights and IntelliBrite Color LED lights (using a 300 Watt Transformer)

  • IMPORTANT! When using multiple 12 VAC MagicFalls LED Light, IntelliBrite® Light and IntelliBrite Landscape Lights, the total allowable light wattage is 300 Watts maximum.
  • A transformer should only be loaded to 80% of its capability. For example, a 300 watt transformer should have a maximum of 240 watts attached to it. MagicFalls LED Light and IntelliBrite LED light wattages are as follows:
  • One MagicFalls® with LIghtCascade Technology™ Light is 14 Watts maximum
  • One MicroBrite® LED Pool light is 14 Watts maximum
  • One FireFX® LED Light is 25 Watts maximum
  • One IntelliBrite Color LED Pool Light is 30 Watts maximum
  • One IntelliBrite Color LED Spa Light is 18 Watts maximum
  • One IntelliBrite Landscape Light is 15 Watts maximum
  • One MagicStream® Laminar Light is 16 Watts maximum
  • One GloBrite LED Pool Light is 15 Watts maximum
  • Note: If multiple LED lighting is being used, it is recommended that these lights be run independent of each other, using a separate transformer for each group or type of light. Otherwise, all lights connected to the same transformer will be working together.
  • Note: Pentair Color LED lights can be controlled by Pentair Automation Systems and Light Controllers. Contact your pool dealer for more information.

Powering On the MagicFalls® LED Light

  • When the MagicFalls light is powered on, the previously selected color show mode or fixed color is displayed.

  • Note: If power to the light is off for more than five (5) seconds, the last color show mode or fixed color that was saved will be displayed.
    Selecting Color Show Mode or a Fixed Color using a Wall Switch

  • MagicFalls lights are compatible with IntelliBrite® light colors and shows and can be synchronized with IntelliBrite color lights. First switch power on to the light; the previously selected color show mode or fixed color is displayed. To select a color show mode (1-7) or fixed color (8-12), rapidly turn the wall switch Off/On a specific number of times. Each number (1-17) shown below corresponds to the number of times to power-cycle the switch to activate a color light show or fixed color. For details about saving color effects while in Show modes, see “Hold” and “Recall” feature on.

  1. Sam Mode: Cycles through white, magenta, blue and green colors (emulates the Pentair SAm Color Light).
  2. Party Mode: Rapid color changing building energy and excitement.
  3. Romance Mode: Slow color transitions creating a mesmerizing and calming effect.
  4. Caribbean Mode: Transitions between a variety of blues and greens.
  5. American Mode: Patriotic red, white and blue transition.
  6. California Sunset Mode: Dramatic transitions of orange, red and magenta tones.
  7. Royal Mode: Richer, deeper color tones.
  8. Blue: Fixed color.
  9. Green: Fixed color.
  10. Red: Fixed color.
  11. White : Fixed color.
  12. Magenta: Fixed color.
  13. Hold: Save the current color effect during a color light show.
  14. Recall: Activate the last saved color effect.
  15. (Not Used)
  16. IntelliBrite Mode.
  17. Note: 1-17: Number of times to cycle power.
  • Example : To select California Sunset Mode; First switch power on to the light; the previously selected color show mode or fixed color is displayed, then rapidly turn the switch off and on six (6) successive times. During the Off/On switching process, no illumination will occur.
  • Saving a color mode or fixed color: When power is switched off to the MagicFalls light, the last color show mode or fixed color will be saved. The next time the light is powered on, the previously saved color show mode or fixed color will be displayed. For example, while in Party Mode switch the light off. Wait more than 10 seconds, switch the light back on to resume Party Mode. During the Off/On switching process, before the selected color is displayed, no illumination will occur. This operating mode is normal during the switching process. During this period the pool and spa will be dark and precautions should be taken to avoid unforeseen accidents. Failure to observe this warning may result in serious injury or death to pool and spa users.
  • PLEASE OBSERVE THE ABOVE WARNING, IT MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO POOL AND SPA USERS.

INSTALLATION

INSTALLING THE MAGICFALLS® WITH LIGHTCASCADE™ TECHNOLOGY
  • The following describes how to install the MagicFalls with LightCascade Technology Waterfall.
  • BEFORE STARTING: The following instructions must be completed by the electrician before the MagicFalls LED Light fixture is installed.
  • Be sure that the pool or spa meets the requirements of the current National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 680-22 and all local codes and ordinances. A licensed or certified electrician must install the electrical system to meet or exceed those requirements before the underwater light is installed. Some of the requirements of the National

Electrical Code which the pool’s electrical system must meet are as follows:

  • The lighting circuit has a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for 120 VAC line voltage models, and has an appropriately rated circuit breaker. The conductors on the load side of the GFCI circuit shall not occupy conduit, boxes, or enclosures containing other conductors unless the additional conductors are also protected by a GFCI. Refer to local codes for complete details.
  • The Junction Box and the low voltage transformer is located at least 4 in (10.16 cm) above ground level or 8 in (20.3 cm) above maximum water level in the bowl, whichever is higher. The Junction Box must be at least 48 in (1.22 m) from the edge of the pool.
  • To be certain that the pool or spa electrical system meets all applicable requirements, the electrician should also consult the local building department.
  • The MagicFalls Water Effect niche is designed for 1-1/2 in (3.81 cm) PVC pipe for the water supply and 1 in (2.54 cm) electrical conduit for the light cable.
  • Water line should be installed with an adjustable control valve so you can adjust the water flow to the waterfall for desired effect.
  • Waterfall requires a 1 ½” water line connection from the pump/filter for waterfalls up to 3’ in length and a 2” water line connection for waterfalls 3’ and above.
  • Multiple waterfalls should not be connected to the same supply line, unless your using a looping type configuration to equalize pressure to all waterfalls.
  • For installation subject to heavy debris, install the optional rock trap (P/N 580004). This requires 2 in plumbing.
  • The waterfall should be installed so that the water flowing out of the waterfall is flowing into the pool, spa or fountain.
  • The waterfall must be installed level or water will not flow out evenly from the spout.
  • Should water start to drip from the underside of the spillway, the water flow should be adjusted to a flow rate that eliminates or minimizes the drips. Some water dripping may be unavoidable due to water flow, surface conditions, or irregularities on the lip.
  •  If the MagicFalls LED light assembly is not installed properly in the waterfall, the LED light will be damaged and the warranty void.
  • If the MagicFalls™ LED light assembly is not installed properly in the waterfall, water may leak into the electrical conduit.
  • Splicing of the light engine cable is not permitted unless done in a waterproof junction box. An unapproved wire splicing will void the warranty.
  • The electrical junction box must be installed above the highest water level of the waterfall. If the junction box is installed below the top level of the waterfall, water may leak from the waterfall into the conduit and fill the junction box with water.
  • NOTE: THE TOP OF THE WATERFALL IS NOT FLAT. WATERFALL LIP MUST BE SET ¼” LOWER THAN BOND BEAM SO DECK COVER LID FOR LIGHT WILL BE FLUSH WITH DECK.
  • DISTANCE FROM WATERFALL TOP OF LIP TO TOP OF DECK COVER IS 1.85” AND SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN PLANNING WATERFALL LOCATION.
  • NOTE: IF WATERFALL IS TO BE SET IN A RAISED WALL A 3” PVC PIPE EXTENSION MAY BE USED BETWEEN THE DECK LID COLLAR AND WATERFALL TOP, THE LENGTH OF PIPE EXTENSION SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE 1.85” TO ENSURE PROPER MOUNTING HEIGHT AND PROPER DECK COVER HEIGHT.PENTAIR-MagicFalls-with-LightCascade-Technology-LED-Light-FIG-5

INSTALLING THE MAGICFALLS® WITH LIGHTCAS-CADE

  1. Preparing the Niche for the MagicFalls Water Effects see Figure 1.

Notch the bond beam as shown (Figure 1). Attach a board to the side of the pool as shown. Make sure this board is level. The board will be used to set the level of the waterfall and create a form for the mortar bed.PENTAIR-

NOTE: THE WATERFALL LIP IS DESIGNED TO EXTEND OVER AN 8” BOND BEAM BUT MAY BE PUSHED FORWARD OR BACKWARD DEPENDING UPON THE TYPE AND THICKNESS OF THE WATERLINE TILE. THE LEADING EDGE OF THE WATERFALL NEEDS TO CLEAR THE FACE OF THE TILE LINE BY ¾”.

  1. Setting the Waterfall, see Figure 2.

Create a bed of mortar in the notch in the bond beam and press the waterfall unit into the mortar until the bottom of the lip is flush with the board (Figure 2). Be sure the lip support is pressed into the slot to prevent debris from getting into the waterfall. When the supply pipe from the filter is clear of all debris, solvent weld the water supply pipe and electrical conduit to the waterfall.

  • Note: The water connections on the waterfall ARE ABS MATERIAL AND THE LIGHT PORTS ARE PVC. Use a pool industry standard brand of PVC cement for the PVC connections and ABS transition Glue (green) for the PVC to ABS connections.
  • Note: CLEAN THE SUPPLY PIPE: Waterfalls are sensitive to debris. Flush the supply pipe cpmpletely before attaching it to the waterfall.
  • For critical considerations see Figure 2.
  1. The area under the lip must be completely supported by mortar. If not, the coping will warp the waterfall and affect the light output and water flow.
  2. The leading edge of the waterfall edge (the edge from which the water spills) needs to clear the face of the tile line by at least 3/4”.PENTAIR-MagicFalls-with-LightCascade-Technology-LED-Light-FIG-7
  3. Finishing the Waterfall. After the mortar bed is cured, remove the board. Be sure the lip protector is in place before installing the coping. Keep in mind that you may need to add ¼” of filler on top of the lip to level out the waterfall.
  4. Removing the Lip Protector Support.
    After the waterfall is completely installed, remove the lip support (Figure 4). If the waterfall does not produce a smooth sheet of water, internal lip supports may be removed by breaking them off with the supplied tool (Figure 5).

Note: After the internal lip supports are removed, they cannot be replaced. USE CAUTION WHEN REMOVING THE INTERNAL LIP SUPPORT.

INSTALLING THE MAGICFALLS® LED LIGHT ASSEMBLY (AFTER WATERFALL

INSTALLATION)

Always disconnect power to the pool light at the circuit breaker before servicing the light. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to installer, service person, pool users, or others due to electrical shock.

Note: Prepare the end of the MagicFalls LED light power cable and install to the 12 VAC output wires of an approved transformer (if you are using longer runs of cables or multiple lights per transformer, it is recommended to use the 13 VAC or even the 14 VAC tap on your transformer).

  1. A, 1” – PVC electrical conduit must be installed from the pool light power sup-ply/transformer location to the bottom of the waterfall electrical port.

  2. Only install the Light after your finish work is complete to avoid causing any damage to the Light Lens and housing.

  3. Ensure waterfall light niche is free of any construction debris prior to installation, this includes the keyway that the waterfall locks into.

  4. Turn off main electrical switch or circuit breaker.

  5. Feed cord through waterfall and then through conduit to Junction Box or 12 Volt AC Transformer.
    NOTE: This is a 12 Volt AC system ONLY. An approved 12 VAC transformer (sold separately) must be used. If a Junction Box is used, it would be for 12 VAC connections. Never wire the MagicFalls® with LightCascade Technology™ light directly to high voltage lines.

  6. At the 12 VAC transformer or junction box, cut off any extra cord. Leave at least six (6) inches (15.2 cm) of cord in the Junction Box or transformer to facilitate the light installation, niche inspection. Cut off any extra cord.

  7. Strip back three (3) inches of the outer cord jacket to expose the two insulated wires (be careful not to damage the insulation on the two (2) inner wires). Strip back the two conductors. Be careful not to damage the copper conductor.

  8. Connect both (2) wires to the corresponding circuit wires in the Junction Box or 12 Volt AC Transformer (black wire to power, white wire to common) and secure the Junction Box cover in place.

  9. Test and confirm LED – Light Head is working prior to locking into waterfall niche.

  10. Using supplied O-ring lubricant; apply the lubricant to both O-ring’s on the outside of light and corresponding socket.
    Note: The light wil NOT install without the lubricant.

  11. Place the supplied light installation tool over the top of the light, insert the light using pressure until the keys on the light press into the keyway, then twist and lock turning clock-wise 90 degrees until you feel the stop point. Lift the tool striaght out. This indicates the light is properly seated, locked and the niche is completely sealed. Note: If the light does not turn smoothly, pull the light slightly out and make sure that it’s seated properly and the niche is free of debris, then reinstall install the light.
    Note: If the MagicFalls® LED light assembly is not seated properly in the niche it will leak water down into the electrical conduit. If the light is not installed properly, it may cause a partial illumination of the waterfall.

  12. Installation tool can also be adapted to a “pool pole” should you require extra length for deeper in wall installations. Note: Installation tool can be secured to a pool pole with a bolt and nut.

  13. Install the supplied deck cover collar using PVC cement.

  14. Apply a small bead of silicone adhesive to the top of the collar and silicone the cover in place.

REPLACING THE MAGICFALLS® LED LIGHT ASSEMBLY

  • DANGER: Risk of Electrical Shock or Electrocution!
  • This underwater light must be installed by a licensed or certified electrician or a qualified pool professional in accordance with the current National Electrical Code (NEC),
  • NFPA 70 or the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA C22.1 and all applicable local codes and ordinances. Improper installation will create an electrical hazard which could result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers or others due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to property.
  • Always disconnect the power to the pool light at the circuit breaker before servicing the light. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to service person, pool users or others due to electrical shock.
  • Verify that the pool and spa meets the requirements of the current National Electrical Code and all local codes and ordinances. A licensed or certified electrician must install the electrical system to meet or exceed those requirements before the underwater light is installed. Some of the requirements of the National Electrical Code which the pool’s electrical system must meet are as follows:
  • The lighting circuit has a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for line voltage models, and has an appropriately rated circuit breaker.
  • The Junction Box and the low voltage transformer is located at least 4 (four) inches (10.16 cm) above ground level or eight (8) inches (20.3 cm) above maximum water level, whichever is higher. The Junction Box must be at least 48 inches (1.22 m) from the edge of the pool. See Figure 1 on page 7.
  • To be certain that the pool’s electrical system meets all applicable requirements, the electrician should also consult the local building department.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE:
  • THE MagicFalls LED LIGHT IS A NON-SERVICEABLE LIGHT. THE COMPLETE LIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED IF DAMAGED, NON-OPERABLE, OR CORD IS DAMAGED.
  • The following removal and installation instructions describe how to remove and install the MagicFalls LED Light assembly. Also use these instructions after completing the following light replacement procedure.
  • Failure to bring the pool or spa’s electrical system up to code requirements before installing the light will create an electrical hazard which could result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers, or others due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to property.
  1. Switch off electrical switch or circuit breaker at the source.

  2. Remove Junction Box or Transformer cover. Disconnect the light wires and attach a fish tape to the existing light power cord. This will assist in pulling the replacement light power cord through the conduit back to the junction box.

  3. Place the light installation tool over the top of the light, turn counter clockwise until the tabs on the bottom of the light installation tool engages the top of the light. Twist counter clockwise again until the light is released from the keyway on the niche. Pull the light straight up and remove it from the niche.

  4. Slowly pull the light and attached power cord (with attached fish tape) out of the niche. Pull the light’s power cord and fish tape out of the niche and place the light on the deck.

  5. Attach the new light power cord to the fish tape and carefully feed the fish tape and cable to the junction box.

  6. At the 12 VAC transformer or junction box, cut off any extra cord. Leave at least six
    (6) inches (15.2 cm) of cord in the Junction Box or transformer to facilitate the light installation, niche inspection. Cut off any extra cord.

  7. Strip back three (3) inches of the outer cord jacket to expose the two insulated wires (be careful not to damage the insulation on the two (2) inner wires). Strip back the two conductors. Be careful not to damage the copper conductor.

  8. Connect both (2) wires to the corresponding circuit wires in the Junction Box or 12 Volt AC Transformer (black wire to power, white wire to common) and secure the Junction Box cover in place.

  9. Test and confirm LED – Light Head is working prior to locking into waterfall niche.

  10. Using supplied O-ring lubricant; apply the lubricant to both O-ring’s on the outside of light and corresponding socket. Note: The light wil NOT install without the lubricant.

  11. Place the light installation tool over the top of the light, insert the light using pressure until the keys on the light press into the keyway, then twist and lock turning clock-wise 90 degrees until you feel the stop point. This indicates the light is properly seated, locked and the niche is completely sealed. Note: If the light does not turn smoothly, pull the light slightly out and make sure that it’s seated properly and the niche is free of debris, then reinstall install the light. Note: If the MagicFalls LED light assembly is not seated properly in the niche it will leak water down into the electrical conduit.

  12. Switch on the main switch or circuit breaker to the 12 VAC transformer and the switch that operates the MagicFalls LED light itself. The light should illuminate when the 12 VAC power is applied. If not recheck the installation steps.

WINTERIZING THE MAGICFALLS® WATER EFFECT
  • The MagicFalls Water Effect is designed to withstand the elements.
  • Winterizing may be as simple as draining all the water from the waterfall.
  • In areas with deep freeze, water must be drained from the waterfall and the water lines evacuated of water.
  • Once the water lines are drained, remove the light engine from the mounting niche and let it lay loose inside the waterfall.
  • The waterfall should not be allowed to fill completely with water and freeze solid, the expanding ice will damage the waterfall.
  • Reverse the winterizing procedure for spring start-up.
